I have a theory that season 4 is where the creators really started to dislike each other, and that in vat of acid, Rick was representing Dan Harmon and morty was justin Roiland, and the whole argument about consequences was them arguing about which direction the show should take

I think people expect season 5 to be bad across the board, season 6 and 7 are more debated because it starts to feel like better episodes and everyone is interested in your thoughts on it. I hated Tony. If they wanted to show Rick actually open up to someone, it should be someone that actually has history with him and not a random guy that wants to be his friend. They always make him love the dumbest characters
I feel their conflict is unique to two strangers who aren't aquainted with eachother. It wouldn't really work if this was Squanchy or Gearhead. Tony and him never really get the chance to get on the right foot, and that's the point. I see it as a cautionary tale for Rick pushing others away, which may have prompted him to try and salvage Birdperson and their friendship by the end of the season.
I agree on the Chris Parnell and Jerry stuff. I dont think I would have started to like Jerry as much as I do after multiple rewatches if he didn't bring the perfect mix of sweet and pathetic to his delivery
I appreciate these vids dude. For your consideration as someone who enjoys your stuff, I feel tbe "summary of the episode" portions of these vids should be much shorter. I think it would be most engaging and would strengthen your points by not being clouded in another the other half of the video restating what your audience likely already knows about episodes. Keep up your videos!

You should do a retrospective on futurama. Its similar to Rick and Morty but with a much less toxic fanbase and a better mix of ongoing plot lines and stand alone. I also has won multiple emmys
I know these videos take a good amount of time and effort to make and I appreciate that especially given you most likely have to edit them yourself but I think it would help the videos if you had a visual representation of where the episodes land, even if it’s just a crude excel sheet but I know that’ll be a ball ache to make, appreciate the videos either way

Season 4 wasnt bad. I rewatched the entire show and in hindsight, s4 and 5 were the most polarized seasons of the show. It had eps that i would genuinely list in my top 15 for sure (top 15 only cuz s1 and 2 exists😂😂)
Thats the thing, we cant just expect a new season to live up to s1 and 2, cuz it never will. So instead, the best thing to do is to accept that the show has evolved, accept that the writers have to drive the plot forward and develop the characters, instead of just having rick and morty adventures. Remember that s1 and 2 were great BECAUSE it was episodic, and now they have to do a bit of both, episodic and canonical, which is very hard. So judging by the new season, i think the characters are in good hands, and the writers are doing a good job.
I disagree with you on this one. This season is very episodic, and the first two seasons had there fair share of canonical plots. I'm not against them trying something new, I love season 6, it just feels like they hate canonical stuff. I do agree that the new season is great, and the writers are getting used to these characters again. I can't wait for season 8!

I remember dropping Rick and Morty right after the first episode of the third season, I was shocked 2 years ago to find out they're still airing and it's been 10+ years since I watched them last time! I watched all the seasons, and it was really hard, defiently not gonna continue
For other shows: have you watched The Venture Bros? Another adult swim animated show, and I honestly think it is one of THE BEST. I was initially apprehensive because the first couple seasons are definitely a product of its time, but then I blinked and somehow had watched all of it. This was years ago, before the show was off the air, so I remember getting SO excited each week for the new episodes. I absolutely recommend it!

@ yeah the wall plot is one of my favorite part of any show there’s another really good plot later on called silver cops too. The main show is weaker but still enjoyable imo.
I like: Rick Die rickpeat, the old man and the seat, one crew over the crewcoos morty, rattlestar ricklactica, never ricking morty, & the Vat of Acid Episode. I disliked the finale & the dragon episode. The rest I thought were just OK but forgettable.

Actually a proper season, we have some good and some really good episodes. But it's also the first time that they have a terrible, barely watchable episode:(
This is actually the season that made me give up on Rick and Morty the only reason I ever checked out any episodes after this was purely just because I was bored. Season 3 I overall think is okay but season 4 Just genuinely got on my nerves with the amount of stupid terrible shit that they have in this season especially the insest jokes. Can we please stop saying what you’re putting it above and below in rankings? Like it’s fine, and worked well for a single season, but now we need to know how those are relative to the others. At least use tier maker and just have a constantly updating chart of episodes so we can see what it means as a whole.
I hadn’t gotten to the end, the rapid fire ranking list is fine, but you gotta find a better way to do it more video man. At least you have the episodes ranked against each other for the season, that’s fine, but since it doesn’t match the dialogue it’s hard to track. The content is good, good editing for episode synopses, the rankings just take me out of it
Small request for the final list if you keep that- in addition to saying the names, just put a little label over the footage- like, upper left corner- showing season and episode so it’s easier to keep track of- no need to verbalize it though

I still think Rick and Morty will go the way of the Simpsons. Started off great then fell off slowly. Season 3 probably should've been where Rick and Morty ended. Maybe a 4th season if it followed a plot. Anything else after is pointless. Later seasons have clearly fallen off hard compared to seasons 1-3.

Small request for the final list if you keep that- in addition to saying the names, just put a little label over the footage- like, upper left corner- showing season and episode so it’s easier to keep track of- no need to verbalize it though
I will defiantly add the season and episode number at the end, that's a great suggestion. I even forget what episodes are. I feel like I've gone to far with the above and below thing to stop now, but the next series I cover, I'm going to put them on a tier list or something like that.

You type of people are why small channels have a hard time coming up. It's sad that someone can't determine if a channels ai or not, which isn't all the individuals fault. It sucks that ai has gotten this bad that small channels that are doing this because of passion get called out. Also go to my first video, do you think that that shits ai. I still think Rick and Morty will go the way of the Simpsons. Started off great then fell off slowly. Season 3 probably should've been where Rick and Morty ended. Maybe a 4th season if it followed a plot. Anything else after is pointless. Later seasons have clearly fallen off hard compared to seasons 1-3.
