scotty the conspiracy theorist. I'm digging it. hey maybe look into nasa and the flat earth . seriously they are forcing electric cars on us because they are easier to track and disposible
I was hoping that I can hold off. I don’t wanna put any more money in this damn truck camper. I want housing when I am. Yeah this truck is really hold up his transmission I’m really
Probably because you live in a no-fault state like Florida, which is terrible. Whether you’re the one responsible or not, we all pay into the same pool if only we did the same thing with Health Insurance .
My dad has done body work for over 50+ years and always said he wore a respirator when painting. He always tells me even if it looks stupid, being safe is better then being dead.
I know a guy who was a car buff and retired after 40 years working for the state in California. He immediately began restoring one of his old cars and went into the paint booth without a ventilator. Days later he was in the hospital slowly suffocating to death from damaging his lungs so badly. Horrible way to die.
In L.A. the freeways are loaded with shiny new trucks. Just sitting there. In traffic. Not going anywhere. Not pulling anything. Not off roading. Just wasting gas.
As a person who needs a truck, and uses it every single day-loaded up-I will agree. Most Americans are just fat and want more room. Or, they have to live in their car and want a bigger one. That’s a bigger issue.
Well, he did say used cars. Not new cars or cars on the lot. And I have started to see that. Some cheaper private deals meaning cheaper than the last few years. Not that they’re really great deals or anything.
I’ve seen absolute rust buckets online still being priced like new “budget” cars at ~30k. It’s honestly scary how delusional folks are with pricing their used cars like they are some shady car lot dealership.
Idk why everyone is so gung-ho about electric cars when Hybrid technology is tried and tested. I feel like slowly switching over to hybrid vehicles would be better transition than forcing half baked EV technology on everyone.
The issue with even hybrids is longevity before the battery goes bad and becomes too expensive to fix therefore totalling or surpassing the cost the car. On average, even Toyota hybrids will last between 80k-100k miles with exceptional cases of about 200k. A Toyota ICE vehicle will last 200k miles on average with instances of up to 500k miles, the difference is significant.
@@ljtowers5161you make a good point. That is a major concern for hybrid vehicles. The issue is that batteries are also an huge issue on Electric vehicles too. I did some quick research and it turns out the batteries for electric vehicles can be even more expensive to replace than hybrid batteries.
@@JoeSchmo-u1d they haven’t changed for new or dealership lots(used lots too). but private deals have started to come down…slightly. Still not to a great range.
My 07 Monte Carlo was done the beginning of the year. I was already looking at impalas. Before my car died I could’ve got a 2021 impala with 60k miles for 19k. When my car died I could get a 2109 with 90k for 23k…
You are correct about places not knowing how to properly diagnose things! It’s almost as if they just want to throw parts at something until it “might” fix it.
Car insurance isn't for drivers per se. Its to insure the banks assests. Cars historically were never looked at as an assest needing a loan. Car manufacturers and banks colluded to raise prices justifying financing. The insurance is for them. Its a grift.
Funny that they don't require the illegal immigrants in Ohio to get auto insurance... or even take a practical drivers exam. They just roll up to the DMV, answer a few questions and then hop in to a vehicle. A friend of mine works for a bank and told me that they require an "uninsured driver" rider is added to the policies of everyone they give an auto loan out to. Gosh I wonder why....
@@OldSaltyBearThis guy can't be serious. Always some white guy complaining about immigrants who don't have anything. Go make some money and stop being so sour.
@@KB-Say don't be daft. That is not what I said nor implied. It's obvious your comprehension is lacking and or something triggers you to not have critical thinking.
I had a car that would get water in the headlights and it would cause my bulbs to burn out so I did what Scotty just said and drilled a small hole on the bottom of each and it solved the problem.
I would take the headlight off, remove the bulb plug the holes put some water in it, see where on the seam it's leaking from and seal it but that's not a Scotty fix.
There is a Ford assembly plant near me. I went to the employee parking lot and actually counted the cars. Just less than 6% of them were Fords. Honda was number 1 (32%) followed by Toyota (30%). The rest were a mix of GM, some Subarus and a few BMWs, MBs, et cetera.
Painting cars wasn't so hazardous back when cars were painted with lacquer. When paints changed to urethanes and acrylics chemicals called isocyanates were used as hardeners because paints were basically plastic. The isocyanates hardened the paint and also your lungs unless you wore a respirator. Many old-timers used to lacquer were too stubborn to take this seriously and it killed them.
I'd rather the dealer tell me they don't know what's wrong with the car then tell me it's normal for the car to be broke like Toyota told me about my 2020 Camry. I could have filed the lemon law if they couldn't fix it. Toyota telling me broken junk is normal for their design doesn't let me get rid of the garbage.
I bought a used Ford Escape 2.5 years ago (at the worst time had no choice) Its value has halved, while the full coverage insurance has nearly doubled. Make it make sense.
Carjackings, weather damage like hail, rising repair costs. WGN9 Chicago just did a story on this. Illinois has the Fourth highest auto insurance rates on average. California is # 5.
As a Canadian, I take offense. Many know that switching to electric will not save the planet. It's a fools errand, nothing more. That is why I took the initiative and built my own green powered truck. It runs on seagull meat. Just load up the furnace with all the seagull meat you can find, and away you go. I'm hoping to get a pigeon model up and running soon, but I'm finding it more difficult to get the same level of BTUs, something to do with beak size and composition. I just want to be clear, I'm working off the old baby seal pump motors and whale skin power plant plans that used to be so popular in the early 90's before we got asphalt up here. We were better off before the roads and trains started coming up here to bring in summer and all its accoutrements, spoil the child, spare the rod I guess.
As a Californian I totally get this. I’ve gone totally green as well. Got my truck running on the fumes of my frustration and broken dreams. Sitting behind the wheel and watching the sun cross the sky is the best feeling in the world, but I wish the scenery would change and that I’d actually get to any destination without having to get out of my truck and walk over to the bus stop.
As a retired IUPAT ( painters) member I've seen safety regulations improved over the year's. Fresh air hoods & masks would offer protection from paint fumes, and when sandblasting, from silicosis, etc. I also knew older guy's who were reluctant to abide by new safety standards. Unfortunately, most of tbem passed away before their retirement. Take safety seriously.
The climate is changing... it's the end of the fourth ice age. BUT... I am inclined to agree, as far as policy. The laws all aim at the consumer, while the factories have less restriction but by far cause more pollution. It's all for show. Feels like a scam. If they were serious they would enforce what laws they already have in factories, instead of just making new restrictive laws for show and restricting consumers. Nothing gets done but as long as it hurts people feel like they care.
My cousin was an auto body owner. He owned his own auto body shop. When we both his 55 years old, he died on the 4th of July due to lung cancer.... Scotty, you are absolutely correct. I told him he needed a full respirator set up and not those cheap dust masks. Nope, he knew better all the way to an early grave.
Cmon man. Tesla car wash mode is to put the car into neutral, etc. to roll onto a conveyor belt at the auto car wash. Not to wash it at the do it yourself car wash, or your driveway.
I used to love ford intill they started doing things like putting two timing belts one in the front and one in the rear of the engine ! and timing gears that aren't keyed or indexed 😮
@@Argedis they didn't 😞 I think its time to start a list of unacceptable engineering practices that must change. Inside some of the Chevy fuse boxes are small electronic components and I found that the plastic warps over time and causes the car to not start and can be very hard to diagnose .🤬
Here in Canada, we can’t even buy plastic straws. They’ve changed em all to paper. My ice cap comes in a plastic cup, with a plastic lid, and then a damn paper straw. You ever leave a paper straw in a beverage for over 15 mins? Exactly.
Scotty, I found this video one of your most entertaining. I'm 78 years old and painted cars for 20 years and was in the body business for 40. My first job in a body shop was changing an oil pan while the painter sprayed the front end. I wasn't very smart at 18 years.
Hey, Scotty. Enjoy your videos. Recycling and using reusable bags, water bottles etc, absolutely helps keep trash out of the ground and out of your yard/local parks. Trash is my number one pet peeve, hate seeing it blowing around outside my home and on the side of the road. I'm sure you feel the same. It's an eyesore. Reusable bags at the grocery store are a simple solution. They hold more groceries, they're stronger, and you get to reduce the amount of plastic bags blowing around :) Thanks, Scotty!
I was shopping for another car and the 2022 v6 Camry I wanted (60k miles) costed more than a new one. The interest was higher & made the overall price higher. Just got the 2025 hybrid SE instead. Really wanted that v6 but the previous owner dinged it up pretty bad & stained the interior
I had a 22 f150. I got 20k trouble free miles out of it. It made it 100k but the rocker arms were falling off getting ground up in the engine and plugged up the oil ports and the cam pick ups fell off the cams and of course the dealership wouldn’t fix it until the warranty ran out and stuck me with it. I ended up selling it for scrap.
This week I bought a new Explorer. 2025 4x4 Active model. Got $4500 off MSRP, a great trade on my Maverick and they Matched my credit union's rate and threw in an extra year of factory warranty. You can dicker for new cars again! I waited patiently for 6 hours and wore them down, but they were willing to sell. If I wanted a left over 24 model, I could have got 1.9% financing.
Shadowstats, which do a very good job on this subject, says inflation is really about 15%. That aligns with what we see on the ground, also known as what we see in the real world.
Of all the things Scotty mentioned such as Food, Insurance, Electric bills etc. agreed, they all have doubled or gone up 100%, not 2.5% according to the media.
The world gone mad Scotty. Keep up the good work. I’m living in the liberal state of California. I’m an ER nurse. Love the look on my friend’s face when I pull in the hospital parking lot driving my duramax Chevy. Gets 24mpg.
Correlation is not causation Scotty. Increased prices is not due to inflation alone. Even as you pointed out in the past, Capitalists are greedy and are using inflation as an excuse to price gouge.
I am Canadian. The strategic goal of using hybrid and electric vehicles is to slow climate change by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Canada produces 1.8% of global GHG emissions. 30% of Canadian emissions come from vehicles. 82% of electricity in Canada comes from non-GHG sources (hydro, renewables, nuclear). So, if all vehicles in Canada suddenly became all-electric (and not just hybrid) our contribution to global GHG emissions would be 1.4% instead of 1.8%. If all Canadian electricity came from non-GHG sources and all vehicles were all-electric, our contribution would be 1.26%, a decrease of 0.54% in global GHG emissions. To have an impact on climate change, global GHG emissions must decrease by 40 to 70%. If all Canadian vehicles were electric, the impact on climate change is zero. If all the energy used in Canada came from sources without GHG emissions, the impact on climate change would be zero.
The juice isn't worth the squeeze. Climate change is a hoax. There's nothing CO2 can physically do to retain heat in the atmosphere, let alone the surface of the planet.
As a geologist, the negative environmental effects of cobalt, lithium, and platinum mining is far worse. Often done by children in countries with little to no safety or environmental laws. Relying on electric vehicles makes things much worse. It would make more sense to slowly transition from petroleum hydrocarbons over 20-30 years while encouraging domestic production of solar and wind turbines.
1988 in Commack NY, same money-grab ticket for me. My RX7 was parked in the lot, at work, and I returned to see the ticket for the "For Sale" sign I had in the window. I spray painted over the "E" to make it say "For Sal".... my name. Problem solved.
I have a Subaru dealership wanting me to trade in for a new vehicle . I have no car bill and I like that . I don’t need a new car with a bill to drive down the road like the one I have .
My Ford freestyle is making a screeching, noise whenever I turn the wheel to the left or to the right. the power steering fluid is full, and it didn’t seem to be the power steering. I take the car to the Ford dealership. They charge me $160 for an inspection and then tell me that they’re not sure what’s making the noise. The they suggest I replace the lower control alarm, the inner tie-rod, the front struts, and also pointed out the Flex pipe on my exhaust. They wanted over $3000. $288 for a $40 flex pipe??? $90 for 4 exhaust bolts??? (those are numbers from the invoice ) And the guy told me that still might not fix my problem.
Hey Scotty, do a review on the 2025 Toyota Corolla pick up, that should be fun.. I want one, but not crazy bout turbo ...I have a 2000 corolla 150,000 miles on it, made a hot rod out of it. very fun to drive, and im an 8 cylinder guy.
The service bay is motivated to SELL you a new vehicle not fix your current one, unless it’s under warranty. I now go to the AAA service center. They are motivated to not have to tow you!
Six months ago one of the online car buyers offered me 9K for my 2014 Corolla, I just updated the offer and it's 4.6K now, nothing much has changed with the car, maybe 2K more miles is all.
The city of Indianapolis gave me a zoning violation ticket ($75) for putting a For Sale sign in my motor home when I was selling it. It was in my driveway!
Inflation is measured a bunch of different ways, and there is a bunch of different indexes used by fed and different government bodies. The Core inflation doesn't include food and energy, because these are too volatile. Other indexes just exclude whatever is most volatile at that point in time. There is no perfect way to measure inflation. The reason fed leaves out the most volatile things is that they use these numbers for monetary policy. It would be silly to drop interest rates because bacon is on sale, or to yank it up because of an oil spill in the Gulf. Etc. The FED has no interest in exaggerating or downplaying these numbers, as they don't want their monetary policy to cause a rollercoaster effect. They want stability, soft landings, not boom and bust.
I don’t know about the majority of the people. But the early 2000’s “cat eyes” Silverado is the best bang for the buck. I’ve got one that has about 400K and you can pick one up for about 8 or even 10 for decently low mileage. I’m fixing to pick up a nice, low mileage before the prices go up lol
One day, seems not long ago, I woke up and saw a new pickup selling for over 90K. I remember going to sleep when a new pickup was selling for 20K and I thought that was ridiculous high price
They’re eating the mufflers. They’re eating the stereos in Springfield they’re eating the TPS sensors.😂😂😂 🎉 don’t even get me started on the catalytic converter😹
@@seanmcfadden6600 I wish it wasn't true but 12 days ago a Haitian women got arrested for eating her neighbors cat. National news won't report on it, I'm going to FOIA SPD crime logs for the last 3 years soon, and turn it over to 1A auditor I have have back channel connections to. These illegals have to go, legal migrants, I'm down, but these people are literally eating our country from the inside out.
the prices are out of control in california, we also need the car to pass smog, for a low income person i cant imagine how you can spring $4k on a car after the high registration fees here, the lesson here is, make sure you always have tools so you can work on your own stuff, and know your car values, a lot of people will sell the same car at different prices, just because it's cheaper doesn't mean it's in worse condition
look, we know. nissan, stellantis are crashing, those car prices area going to go down regarding. I'm interested if mazdas, lexuses and acuras are going to go down
I haven’t noticed priced going down. I only work for the largest used dealer in my state. 🤷♂️Trust me, you’re still getting screwed. In ways you can’t imagine.
Used approves will go through the roof if the longshoremen strike! Lots of new cars will be delayed, increasing demand for used cars. So buy quickly before the strike!
Hear me out Scotty, please. He could park the truck in his yard and put the for sale sign in at no problem. They don't want for sale vehicles clogging up the roadway. Reasonable people can disagree, but I can understand how they might make an ordinance such as that. Just my two cents and always get a kick out of your videos.

I don't even want a hybrid...or a downsized internal combustion engine with turbos like the Toyota Tundra and Tacoma.
Nah, my old Prius had 90k miles and I’d only changed the 12v once. It ran like a champ, still got 42-48 mi/gal.
@@ljtowers5161you make a good point. That is a major concern for hybrid vehicles. The issue is that batteries are also an huge issue on Electric vehicles too. I did some quick research and it turns out the batteries for electric vehicles can be even more expensive to replace than hybrid batteries.
@@ronlee9984I honestly don't think everyone should be forced to get a hybrid vehicle especially for individuals that don't drive a ton.

I've had multiple ford Taurus thaz got this problem in tail lights. Holes always help

I had a 1967 Dodge Coronet with water in the rear driver tail light
You could see water sloshing back and forth. Got a hand drill
Problem solved.
Mechanically I can fix almost anything but bodywork is an art all to itself I will never even try! Hats off to those that do
Painting cars wasn't so hazardous back when cars were painted with lacquer. When paints changed to urethanes and acrylics chemicals called isocyanates were used as hardeners because paints were basically plastic. The isocyanates hardened the paint and also your lungs unless you wore a respirator. Many old-timers used to lacquer were too stubborn to take this seriously and it killed them.
prices have not moved all year. scotty is wrong this time. i am ready to buy this year and have watched prices. same price.

Im starting to see it begin, hold the line folks don't OVER PAY for ANY vehicle or else they will keep the prices HIGH
It's not about the climate, it's about control, period.
Absolutely
The climate is changing... it's the end of the fourth ice age.
BUT... I am inclined to agree, as far as policy. The laws all aim at the consumer, while the factories have less restriction but by far cause more pollution. It's all for show. Feels like a scam. If they were serious they would enforce what laws they already have in factories, instead of just making new restrictive laws for show and restricting consumers. Nothing gets done but as long as it hurts people feel like they care.

They hold more groceries, they're stronger, and you get to reduce the amount of plastic bags blowing around :)

Correlation is not causation Scotty. Increased prices is not due to inflation alone.
Even as you pointed out in the past, Capitalists are greedy and are using inflation as an excuse to price gouge.
Sellers raise prices to the clearing price of their goods.
Inflation, by definition, is the increase in the money supply. Ie. Gov debt.
Insurance is probably due more to having a monopoly than gouging alone.
Plus the government forces you to buy it. That helps keep prices high too.
Not in my area car prices still high. Car insurance has lowered

When the government figure inflation numbers they leave out energy, food, housing and any high inflation item.
They also include electronics to pretend there's deflation.
