I am continually astounded at how well you can summarize such a wide variety of movies and tv shows (AND FULL SERIES!!!), in such a short time, WITHOUT rushing or cutting out important details. It sounds like a conversation! I aspire to have this level of concisness. Would you be open to doing a process video for how you get your recaps done?

*Here is the story telling why Martha is real killer..!*
First off, this was an extremely well researched movie, with oodles of reference to the genre. This genre is ALL about the little details. Every bit of dialog is intentional, every bit of scenery is intentional. I can't believe the details that conflict with the apparent resolution of Ransom as the bad guy are sloppy overlooks... they are in fact explicitly reinforced in several scenes throughout the movie.
I've been rewatching and dissecting scene by scene this morning and comparing screenshots of each version of events. Marta is absolutely the villain, a criminal mastermind and master manipulator. Ransom's reaction at the end of the movie is purely his realization of what she actually is and what she has done... and that he was completely played by her. He is being facetious in admitting to the housekeeper and arson in a rage... it was ALL Marta. This is maybe the most brilliant meta twist in a whodunnit movie ever. All the clues are there if you look.
There are many subtle supports for this interpretation of the movie's "true" narrative as others have pointed out... Marta spending half the movie ruining and controlling discovery of evidence for Blanc, Blanc's and Marta's dialog, the metaphor of Go and who was best at staying several moves ahead, etc. But to me the crowning giveaway bit of evidence is the difference between Joni coming upstairs to check on Harlan and Marta's constructed story. As others have also pointed out, Marta absolutely lies to Harlan in her version of events about having a glass of champagne as an excuse to not play Go. She says this to him 2 times. Yet in no version of anyone else's story is she seen drinking anything other than water. There is a pointed scene with the housekeeper where she explicitly refuses to drink. Both of these are Marta's "memory" so she lied to Harlan and did NOT puke... suggesting she can choose when to do so. (In fact I don't think she ever has an alcoholic drink at any point in the movie, but not sure.)
But how about visual proof? Joni's version of events: Joni comes up, pointedly looks down at the Go board spilled on the ground, there is nothing else on the floor.
00-29-36 - Joni memory - Go board, NO medical bag or meds in sight
Also she sees Marta preparing medicine in the background.
00-29-28 - Joni Memory - Marta actively preparing medicine, Go board had already knocked over
Contrast this with Marta's version of events, which she guided Blanc to "discover" (and which the movie implies she conjured up during the flip of Blanc's coin... much like a fully developed plot would "pop" into Harlan's head... "that was the easy part").
00-37-44 - Marta memory - dumps all contents of the bag on the floor where the Go board is
00-38-51 - Marta memory - all contents of the bag on the floor where the Go board is, AFTER kathunk (trip)
    Here are the problems:
According to Marta, she had already injected Harlan, dumped the contents of the bag all over where the Go board was. This is clearly shown and reinforced after Harlan supposedly trips her. At no point do either of them clean up this mess.
According to Marta, she was standing motionless in the background as Joni came to the door.
Joni saw only the Go board on the ground... no bag, no gloves, no bottles, nothing spilled besides the game pieces. Moreover, Joni saw Marta preparing the medicine on the desk in the background. This would suggest Marta hadn't injected Harlan yet and would not yet have discovered the presumable mixup of meds!
The timelines and scenes don't match in a MAJOR way! Joni has no reason to lie about this at the time she informed the detectives of what she saw, and it's a very simple and quick scene. Marta has every reason to.
I submit to the reader that if you watch the movie carefully, Marta's "memories" are framed much more as constructs than actual memories, in comparison to all the other characters. I also note that in Rian Johnson interviews, he is careful to never acknowledge who the actual killer is, and he talks a lot about exploring how biases distort and lead us to narratives. I submit also that the "woke" interpretation of this movie as just a parable on immigration and class culture in America is actually the highest level bias that is preventing everyone from seeing Marta is the actual culprit of the murder mystery. Granted, the Thrombeys are all entitled assholes, but she harnesses that bias to get away with the actual crime. Nothing sums this up better than the closing scene where they all realize the truth, looking up at her, drinking from Harlan's cup.

1:09 and it's an obvious Rashomon, everyone could have done it, the point will probably be more evidence narrowing down the investigation.
Edit: okay you just spoiled, my bad
1:38 Okay, that's sus, if he wanted to protect her why did he do it? This just screws her.

Why would the maid met with Ransom who she believe just kill someone alone in a place where he could easily kill her? Maybe she is just stupid but how would Ransom know she was that stupid? It doesn’t make sense. And they have no evidence on Ransom except the confession but it’s not written or on video so he could say he never confessed. So Ransom wouldn’t go to jail for anything.
