Proof that the world just wasn't ready for the Melvins in 1986
They're barely ready for them in 2019
@@triciabrown3035 2020 and things still haven't changed!
"I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it."
@@kurtc4247 middle of 2021, still not ready. Foolish times filled with foolish people.
its 2022 now and the Melvins are still too futuristic for these feeble minds
This was entertaining, I think they should make a series of this.
The Melvins are an American treasure.
I dread the day we lose them....
You gotta love a Melvins story
I thought BP was Belching Penguins from Florida. It was Beyond Possession from Canada, who were a skatemetal crossover band who were actually really good.
You are correct sir.
Dafuq is "skatemetal?"
centralscrutinizer66 RKL??
It took me from 1989-1992 to learn what "Crossover" meant.
I bought the 2nd Excel cassette (oops I mean release) and my "friend" taped "Crossover" by DRI for me in 1990.
At this point I still couldn't figure out what "Crossover" meant.
By 1992 the
"old days" were dying out quickly, the only people going to punk shows were Warrant fans in Flannel shirts, and I begrudgingly accepted Crossover was a very cool term for former Punk Rockers playing Heavy Metal yet couldn't play their instruments like professionals.
Much like the 15th century alchemists who foolishly believed lead could be turned into Gold, thus was my path similar.
+Mark Squier
"Skate-metal" was former Punks or Skins who played Heavy Metal in the late 80's.
And yet, the worst touring experience for them was still the one with White Zombie. :3

Life seems better now. Great vid.
That animation was fantastic. Thanks for the story Buzz!
Buzz is so full of great stories, he is pretty much the David Sedaris of punk.
i honestly can't stop watching this
absolutely fantastic
What a miserable existence that must have been. Tahnk god they stuck around though.
I love King Buzzo :D
Yep. Typical band tour! Brings back memories!
This is great!

Would have been killer to see Melvins + RKL

Amazing!! Love the Melvins!!
I wonder who BP is ?
Beyond Possession.
Ten years later and Pitchfork is generally derided as being the worst hipster music magazine
If they continued with animated series like this, their reputation might improve.

Compliments to the artist
June Bug is a great song!
Wow! Back in the day, you really had to want it! AC/DC said it best: It's a long way to the top, if you want to rock n' roll!!!
June Bug is an awesome instrumental
RKL provided some good party favors......
cool story
woo El Paso!
Write a book, Buzz!
He tells a good story about Ministry stealing his gf.
Jabba the Promoter was an inspired touch.
Ok, so RKL is Rich Kids On LSD, but who's BP? Should I care or is it best that they be forgotten in the strange haze that is the eighties?
ThisIsAEnigma beyond possession. if you like 80s trashy hardcore or skater punk, you might dig them.
You should see danny browns frames.
"We were supposed to be touring with a band called BP." He couldn't say Beyond Possession?
Buzz should be on Reading Rainbow
So, the headlining band in San Francisco was the Mentors?
St. Vitus
Do history of Grunge
That totally sucks. I would probably shoot someone if that happened to me. Btw, love ya buzz!!!
Which song was playing at end credits? They have a million songs.
"June Bug" off of Stoner Witch
Marco
Oh, I own that one. Guess I need to dust it off and jamm it.
Bacon.
funnu
Matt Lukin looks weird here.

more than likely that chris wasn't working, if you happen to personally know any musicians they are inherently lazy by nature, and their definition of work is not the same as the average person.
william powell more like punk rockers are lazy by nature
