I just ordered a Wii U and I'm so excited for it too come. The old one I had ending up breaking from a hardware issue and I am finally getting one back
I gave the Wii U as much respect as I could as a kid. It was a little sad to be a Nintendo kid at the time, though. The only thing I don’t “like” about the console is my GamePad wireless chip failed eventually. I tried to replace it but that didn’t work either. So technically I barely have a Wii U anymore. :( Rest in Peace Wii U
I play my Wii U more than my Switch. I don't know, no gaming experience feels as fun as playing Black Ops 2 with my boyfriend without split screen, or Nintendoland or Mario 3D World. In a world where consoles atomize us and make everything online, the Wii U brings people in the same room together. It's pure fun, what gaming should be

i pulled my wii u out last year. its basically completely dead, and the gamepad has a big dent in the screen suddenly so the touchscreen doesn't work and prevents the sticks from functioning properly. im about a click away from just buying a brand new one. i want to play it with my friends, since i have more people at my house more often than i did when i used to play it. i miss this thing so much, and i'm immediately gonna homebrew it and get pretendo up and running on it

Definitely a fun console. The first Zelda game I finished 100% was twilight princess. I then went on to play Breath of the Wild on it too. It started my love for so many Nintendo games. I loved it!
I love my Wii U. Play it more than I do the Switch. Mario Kart 8, New Super Mario Bros. U, and the two main reasons for buying the darn console-- Mario Maker 1 and Super Mario 3D World. My top four games for said console.
My only pet peeve with the Wii U is the gamepad itself, sure it did share the same quality as past Nintendo controllers. But by god, they are the most atrocious thing to replace. The gamepad that comes with the console is assigned to it and also region locked. Before its end-of-life Nintendo was the only one who could get you a replacement gamepad, but you would also have to send your Wii U in. While many games also depend on the Wii U gamepad, making it damn near impossible to play them without it. (Now granted this is less trivial now, with homebrew fixing most if not all of these issues)
I did bring back my wii u but theres a reason why i put it in that box i bought it from a garage sale at home i made a mii and stuff but for some reason now it freezes every 20 seconds
Bro if you haven't you need to try Xenoblade Chronicles X, that is one of my favorite RPGs despite having the weakest story of the series. I'm a vehement WiiU stan, however hardware is more than just graphical prowess, and software is more than just the games themselves. I can't ignore the awkward infrastructure and power targets that made it hard for third party developers, the TERRIBLE netcode and wifi port issues, and the absolutely stupid and unintuitive menus for managing content from expanded drives. Nintendo REALLY needed to do better. And as weird as it sounds, I feel that if they went the extra mile and the console ended up being 50-100 more dollars... it might have even solved the marketing issues because it'd be a clearer upgrade from the Wii.

And I firmly believe that Breath of the Wild would have been a better game had it released on Wii U alone, with all its dual screen functions intact.
I don't because I love the wii u. It's a great console with good games. I believe it failed due to marketing. They made it seem like an add on to the wii rather than the next console release.
