I agree. Not going to watch this bullshit anymore. Going to change my settings to not interested. These guys are a bunch of idiots. I'll rather watch the U.K version thanks.
Selling is a vital part of any business, of course sharks are going to press on it. As shown selling can happen before manufacturing, so that is not really a good excuse. The main point is shows bad drive if the entrepreneur does not sell, rather than a flaw in the business plan. It's the entrepreneur being questioned, not the product. That being said Steve was being harsh, but everyone else was quite fair.
It's cheaper to just hang your clothes on a rack indoors or on the porch with a roof. And whilst I completely agree with Steve's point-of-view that this business is too far in its infancy to consider investing, there's a polite and diplomatic way to explain it to a person; there's no need to show off your business prowess and berate a lady on national television.
Naomi. She may be sweet, but based on actual experience of having been in the startup segment globally for a while now, 95% of investors you find will be exactly like Steve. Curt and blatantly honest. I think Naomi is too soft, at times. Entrepreneurs need be prepared to be grilled, because that's how the market works.
@@AlphasPath Agree that 95% are like him. Disagree that that's how you have to be. Lady in red showed the world what a beautiful heart looks like. It will literally cost her $0, just a quick phone call.
I'm actually surprised. Steve is known for having his moments, but Naomi us usually sassy not sweet. She had remorse for Steve coming at her the way he did. At least she helped her in the best way she knew how.
Me and my mate brain storm all sorts of wacky ideas in the hope of becoming wealthy. Most people nowadays have rotary lines, so my idea was to have a rotary line but with an umbrella covering the washing. Oh how we laughed and after a few pints we decided to steal one from our local beer garden. Well we weren't laughing later when the police arrested us, pissed up, on our way home, on a stolen push bike thinking that we had somehow managed to conceal a giant umbrella.
Good point, it needs some hoops to add height and some top vents with a black panel suspended above, to generate more heat from weak sunshine and allow airflow to push out the vapour while protecting clothes from UV damage. I’ve made similar for my own use.
Unfortunately Steve is absolutely right. Coming to ST with that crazy valuation, with no proof of concept, is mad! So Steve´s berating was on point. You got to have an amazing idea to get anyone invest in it at this early stage. Piece of a plastic covering laundry is not an amazing idea.
Steve did have an interesting point: Sometimes it is necessary (for proof of consumer demand, for an investor’s comfort) to do an initial (more expensive per unit, but overall cheaper, because way fewer units) manufacturing run, rather than trying to get investment (without the necessary proof of consumer demand) for the ideally-priced manufacturing run you want to do.
The guy is right tho.... and lol they all follow suit but insult him for being real and they literally followed him out! And when they go out they almost all repeated his reason verbatim.
Why cant i just get a 2$ pieces of pvc and put it on my drier. And cut it perfectly to size. And once the pvc rots after 6 months ill change it for another 2$
