I had never listened to - or even heard of - Misþyrming until 22 minutes ago, and I only only listening to them now because RUclips recommended them. They are pretty impressive and I believe I can safely say I will be listening to them again. And again. And again.
Misþyrming has always seemed to me a promising band, no matter how young its sound is and very compact, it certainly proposes elements that oxygenate the BM. The ariculation of their guitars and the tone that prints the voice are very interesting, as well as the use of keyboards does not subtract character. Blunt, raw at times, complex and interesting. Congratulations.
2nd time listening and now I'm paying the real attention it requires. Damn, now I can sense how good this record is, how killer the riffs are, the new melodies well merged with the crude delivery it had on the previous record. Algleymi will require even more listens to actually grasp every nuance, and I love it.
For me it was instantly a reveletion. It hit me like a thunder in a storm. This album has not any weak or fluffy riff that you can skip, everything is really merged with depth.
I guess is because when your nearest neighbour lives like 900 miles away and you can only talk to a seal, you start to focus in what you most enjoy. I'm sure i would be a hell of a guitarrist if i could live in Iceland, but i live in Uruguay, so i suck.

Iceland.... This name explains the whole album. This speed and brutality is awesome. Thank you guys!!! The CD has landed directly in the shopping cart!
Great job. Much better than the first album with sublime melodies and an epic and bright side that transcends everything and sweeps almost everything else this year. My album 2019 with the new Sühnopfer !
Even though I liked the vocal style on the previous album more, I see the reason for the change. The style of the music itself has definitely evolved and the more muted and distorted vocals definitely suit it more than the ones from the previous album would have. I kind of didn't expect such a large shift from the first album to this one. Still loving both though.
Yet another phenomenal album of 2019, I’ve been waiting and waiting patiently when they’ll be releasing another album after hearing their first album which was a bit more darker and eerie than this one, but I like the direction they took in this album. Very catchy, almost all of them are a banger, I like how they incorporate some keyboards and I think choir here and there. Fucking awesome and epic album from Misthyrming. Can’t wait to see the future to come for these guys. 🤘🏻
@@666soccermom666 666soccermom666 I loved it man. I think it's some of their best work! Feels like a mix of Drought, Fas and some Paracletus thrown in, along with a punchy and super natural sounding production. They also recently did their first interview in over 15 years, with Bardo Methodology. Really interesting read. How about you, what did you think of the album?
Man this is pretty good. Kinda reminds me of my favorite parts of Spectral Lore's third album with the combination of the guitar tone and tremolo riffing.
Cant stop listening.. Brilliant. All amzing tunes. Og er Haustið Líður Undir Lok , what a song, slow and mesmerising.Hælið sounds like a heavy Morricone song, spaghetti western BM.
Sounds really good. Mgła for me is best band maybe because it's my national but this band is perfect. I would like to go on good festival where I could listen to all of these bands for few days.
Out of curiosity: what other great releases did Iceland have this year? I have been a bit... huh... unimformed the last months and would be glad about recommendations. Thanks in advance!

Definitely one of the best black metal releases of 2019.
Agreed.
just the best
@@nyudon sounds like Batushka alot like Batushka. Misþyrming and batushka forever best new metal bands
Totally agree. In this new álbum they perfectly mix their classic noisy black metal sound with beautiful melodic notes
No
One of those moments when you find a new band you'l be stuck on forever. This is how BM should be.
Its like a volcano in a freezing ocean!.
One of the masterpieces of the 3rd era of Black Metal.
Agreed, it is very good.
one of the best of modern black metal
Totally agree, really stands out.
Misþyrming, Drastus, Deathspell Omega... Daaaamn, NoEvDia is on fire this year!
@Mastema eat shit lmao
Too bad Deathspell Omega isnt on fire (based on from what I´ve heard of their latest album).

The cover, the riffing, this voice... This album is a perfect masterpiece !
These guys and Mgła take black metal to unknown realms 👌👌
Mgla is pretty overrated tbh, Kriegsmaschine on the other hand is mind blowing.
@@Nekrist218 Exercises in Futility has awesome lyrics, you could at least give them that.

@Garegh62 just let the man have his review dawg, I think he encapsulated the quintessence quite creditably
@Garegh62 why are u mad
you articulated that well - are you a music critic?
One of the most inspired BM bands of the decade. Söngvar was already a masterpiece, and this one is just as good. Thank you Iceland
check out Ultha also from Germany

Superb album. The synths add a richness in place of the raw primitivism - but it is still visceral. A worthy successor to Söngvar.
Agreed!
This is the kind of voice and sound that really identifies black metal. Very good Icelandic job with a subtle Polish cut.
Mercurio Rojo I'm hearing more of an American tone with a Japanese undercurrent in the vocals..... maybe some Canadian touches as well
The title track is killer
this album is a masterpiece, thanks for the upload
This is like an orchestra playing. An overwhelming amount of music in every minute.
Truly apocalyptic tone... I'm speechless!
Every song in the world should start like Orgia does.
