lived in the hills by Laguna Seca from 89 till 02. Indycars, motorcycles, historics, a super venue and I could walk there and back home about an hour each way. Great memories. Ernie Irvan, Wayne Rainey, Doug Chandler, Ricky Graham were all from around there.
I attended several MotoGP events there that were just insanely cool. They had multiple infield parking areas for motos only, separate for each marque (Honda, Yamaha, Ducati, etc.) and the attendants would park the coolest bikes in the front row, race replicas and such like, it was like a museum. Saturday night, Monterey would close their main street to cars and at least a thousand bikes would line both sides of the street, just incredible. There is serious moto culture in CA. A good friend of mine bought a wrecked bike in Canada (they were never imported into the US) and spent a couple of years building a replica Yamaha YZ500RR that was just about perfect. None other than Kenny Roberts welded up his pipes; he ordered ten sets and made huge profits selling the nine he didn't need. He'd occasionally start it in his driveway (it idled at like 11,000 RPM) and whack the throttle, you could hear it echo off the surrounding hillsides and there wasn't a mosquito left alive in that cloud of blue two-stroke exhaust. He sold the bike to a collector in Reno for like $30,000.
lmao what a move mclaren, nice job guys. You had one of the most promising talent in ur hand and now u have a guy that will never reach the level of theo, nice management, love it.
Hahahahaha, he just won the 24 hours of lemans but he will never be as good as an f2 champion? He was rookie of the year last year in Indy lights and was leading the points before he was asked to fill in in INDYCAR. Btw Theo had 1 top 10 finish in 4 starts. Hold off judgement until at least 4 races.
@@patrickwhite4449 Well he did half of his 8 hours drive under safety car and he didn't crash so I guess it was ok for his first 24h. Without Oliver Jarvis monstrous last stints this wouldn't have been a victory for United Autosport. Siegel is ok but he is nowhere near Pourchaire's talent. But when it comes to money, it's a whole different story
Right, I mean Tony Kanaan and Zak Brown? They're obviously stupid. They let go of a French guy? Who likes Drake? I mean come on! I hope Theo shows them their mistake by continuing to bounce around the minor series and maybe even do some NASCAR one day. Or Formula E!!! And also, Indycar should immediately put a cost cap on dads' fortunes. No rich people in our sport!
I thought I was laying the sarcasm on thick enough that people would get it. Apparently a couple of you did not. I was just responding to the negativity of clement. His/her post reminded me of some of the trolls who just stop by to say how stupid other people are. It could have been phrased differently if he wanted to express his displeasure at Theo's departure.
Once again I see no big screens across from the pit grandstand or turn 4 bleachers. As long as ?????? is too cheap to give us some media to follow the action I will stay home and see it on television. Seca is 2 1/2 hours from my house, got the $100 ticket price in my pocket, saw the first 3 years of open wheel return but will not be back if they can’t properly represent it. When AMGEN finished in Modesto there were big screens downtown. Will not miss another race by attending.
I stand corrected. There was one screen across from the turn 4 bleachers. If Rossi had won I’d be kicking myself. Now as for NBC throwing it over to Peacock because the NASCAR race rained out….
We need dodge in F1 because this is nonsense its like watching people be crappy at drifting and im trying to be USA but Indy gotta do better ….Dodge get in F1

that was a great view of the corkscrew , knew it was a decent , that angle was amazing to show i non car visual
This is probably the most iconic race track in the world, and I think every race series should race here.
I'll agree with the second part of your statement
I don't think the F1 cars would survive.
Most iconic racetrack in the world? 😂 You must be joking
One of the best, for sure
Laguna Seca is *one* of many iconic tracks, though will never truly beat the likes of Spa-Francorchamps or the Nurbergring.
1:25 that's how I drive the corkscrew on Gran Turismo
yes! thanks for acknowledging the Zanardi maneuver. That still gets me steamed
So, who do we think Sargeant will drive for next year?
Every road course should copy the essence of this track
NAAAAAH!! Lets make 4 more Detroit courses.

@@kevinmedlin6436you say that like Formula E is a step up from IndyCar 😂🤡 they have rainbow boost zones like Mario Kart lol what a joke
Why is the online Race Control dead?
"Screaming" Leigh Diffey will be gone for a couple of weeks. There really is a God.
I love Leigh. So there 🤝
There's nothing more irritating than people who constantly complain about passionate broadcasters. Give it a rest.
Will powaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Yeah. I can barely watch anything European at all. Everyone screaming a thousand words an hour.
He'll be gone for good next year......unless he goes to Fox
quality?
No Lee Diffey in the commentary box for this race, what a treat, my ears won't be bleeding this weekend.
