I had a 2000 SS 750, half faired, a 1999 SS 900 half failed that I eventually put on the track. I raced that SS 900 for 13 years. It made only 80 HP, but it was always about the chassis. Such elegant motorcycles.
This model was my first 'big bike' and I still, to this day, regret selling it. I've toured `scotland on one and she never missed a beat. I've owned a few VFR's since, they are a great bike too but, on ocassion, I still think back to the noise and feel i got from 'Daisy' and would own another in a heartbeat.
Just picked one up. Full ohlins refreshed. Fresh set of tires. It came with track fairing and all stuff make It street legal. But going to only be my track ride.
I have the exact same bike, same colour too. Full fairing version in yellow. Its a 2003 bike but i think it was built maybe 2001 or 2002. Im in the UK, SCOTLAND, I think between 1999 and 2003 only 46 750SS ie were imported, colours were Red, Yellow, Bkack and a mix of full fairing and half fairing, not all had the double disc on the front wheel, possibly the black version .
I’ve got one which I have just rebuilt. I also have an M696, the 750 is a more ‘agricultural’ affair and I feel you have to really think about gearing, clutch and throttle control on this bike compared to the M697, but with that it brings bags of character missing from the later Ducatis.
Oh that's interesting - I have never ridden a 696 Monster but I have the M900 - it's a great bike too. I love how each bike has its own character - the things that make you fall in love...
i just came across a 01 in red. asking $2500, that's why i'm here. i haven't physically seen it nor have any details, might go see it this week. i ride an 98 softail and looking for something else to ride on occasions. thanks for the review👍
@@jukeboxheros7021 Oh that's too bad. Well they do come up for sale from time to time so keep your eyes peeled. And they're usually reasonably priced as well!
Hi, your SS looks great! I have a 2001 750ss as well. Just purchased it. I had to solder the gas tank hinge as it was leaking. All is well now. Im curious if you can tell me how hot yours runs on hot summer days in light traffic. Mine fluctuates from ½ to ¾ on the temp gauge on hot days when your not moving all the time. Cheers!
Oh yes, that sounds about right. I've had it almost go all the way to the top! Ran like crap then. Gotta keep moving for sure. I don't know what use that gauge is really, as you can't do anything about it anyway.
@@wakinossin good to know I'm not the only one experiencing this. Its my first Ducati and trying to stay on top of everything I can. Sometimes Its hard to gauge whats normal and whats not. Your feedback is super helpful...Thanks again for replying!!
@@philippk7334 I know - I just don't believe it's very useful. It shows the oil temperature. What can you do about it if it gets really hot? If the airflow from riding doesn't help, there is nothing the rider can do about it. No way to cool it down other than just pull over and shut it off.
Sorry no.im aware of the 916 senna.beleive they may have used the branding on other bikes but only refers to the colour scheme.dont think the great man had any influence on this one.awesome bike anyway so enjoy it.

And such fun to ride, with power that works in the real world - no need to be keeping the revs way up there...
I had the same model. Fantastic bike. Currently about to restore a 1997 600ss. Your model is very underrated.
Man i was looking for a video like this
