- If you would like to know what can happen when you paint in public for the first time, this video is for you. I painted with watercolor and used waterproof ink-liners for some definition. Hope you like it! :)
Painting in Public is something I’ve been wanting to do for the longest time. After years of hiding away, I gathered all my courage and ventured into the outside world with my pens and paints!
Pictures are great sources to paint from, but there is something special about outdoor light that a camera just cannot capture. Not yet at least.
Outdoor urban sketching really confronts you with how light affects what you can and cannot see. Details on buildings appear and disappear with the gentle movement of the clouds above you. This basically means that if you see something nice, you’ll have to hurry up to sketch it down before it is too late!

I had great fun on this watercolor adventure! What would you say if people took pictures of you without asking? All advice is welcome 😂
I like your accent, and I also love drawing in public I love drawing late victorian architecture and where I live in the south west coast of england so there are a lot of beautiful places and buildings to draw, I love loose sketching! Well done for making such a good video!
Thank you so much :) sounds like a super inspiring area for sketching! The Drama!
Greetings from Norway. Hope yo enjoyed your stay and it is true that most Norwegians are kind of shy. 🇧🇻
Or do we consider it polite to leave others in peace, thus coming across as shy?
Thank you! As a somewhat shy person who moved to Norway nearly 5 years ago, it feels relieving not having to talk all the time ^^
@@Brannreven both, it depends on the person.
I’ve been wanting to try this as well but I get stage fright 😅 I tent to first do a sketch at home then work on it outside.
@@Mercyyreid That's actually clever!
I stare when I see people doing things in public, but I do it in a sneaky way like a large newspaper with holes in it. Or one of those glasses with a nose and a mustache do they don't know it's me
@@ca1-am1 Hahaha super sneaky!
I'm so shy I'm having anxiety for someone else of the past(since this video is "posted" on RUclips).
How could you?!?!?!.....
Can't bare this idea of performing in front of people☠️☠️☠️
Well, someone's gotta do it! I took one for the team 😂
