Excellent video and narrative. My journey began three years ago when I started experiencing episodes of terror and anger, waking me up like clockwork four hours after I fell asleep, right before the most restorative phase of sleep. Initially, I felt utterly powerless, unable to fall back asleep until dawn. I sought help from therapists and sleep specialists, but they seemed unfamiliar with such issues. I feared something was seriously wrong with my health. The situation made me deeply reflect on how stress impacts sleep. I wish I could unravel the mystery of what was happening to me three years ago. It feels like I've irreversibly lost a decade of my life, yet I'm grateful to be finding ways to sleep better again.(everything you mention in this video helped me too)
And I wish I had come across this video three years ago. Discussing this issue made me feel misunderstood and dismissed as if I were overreacting or losing my mind. It was an incredibly isolating and despairing time. However, now, as I find more people online sharing similar experiences, I no longer feel alone. Thank you once again.

I'm surprised you didn't mention anything about sleeping with ambient sounds, white noise, pink noise, etc. Also, where do you stand on having a fan blowing on you during sleep?

Great video! I've suffered from insomnia due to stress and it's really torture! For me it lasted months and I didn't even know where the stress came from. It turned out it was work and working from home everyday without seeing anyone other than my family. Haha all the tools you mentioned helped me. One day I'll get that fancy mattress too. Take care Katie!

Set my house temperature at 68° an hour before bed, put my chili pad on heat, take a warm shower an hour before bed (at 9pm) and I get cold under a blanket in my La-Z-Boy go to bed, it is cozy warm, and I immediately set my Chili pad for 67 when I get in bed and I sleep like a baby. Of course there’s many other things I do. There are reasons for no socks.

I always learn something new from your videos. Everything that I tried that you suggest here actually works for me. Temperature is definitely important; especially for those of us who like wearing socks and have a thing for mandatory covers. I don't mind mentioning that certain essential oils are great as well. Thank you so much again, Katie. Have a great night's rest!

I sleep with 6" blocks under the legs on the head of my bed. This helps drain your lymphatic and glymphatic system. And it's basically free unlike many other health hacks.

What do you reckon about Huberman saying that meditation should be done earlier in the day? He seems to think it will impair sleep. Do you see breathwork as being different to meditation?

I had the same question, maybe with the physiological sigh and box breathing, the CO2 off load is the goal rather than focus?

Quick question, is the tracker in your arm and the app seen in the video for tracking daily activity from inside tracker or is that levels/other?

When your body warms up during the night it wakes you up. That’s how your body works.

I almost purchased a Sleep Eight, but doesn't wifi and emf interfere with your sleep?
