- Carnival Radiance (formerly Carnival Victory) is a Destiny-class cruise ship operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Ordered by Carnival in 1997, the 101,509 GT vessel was the third Destiny-class cruise ship to join the fleet after her debut in 2000 and became one of the largest cruise ships of her era. In 2021, she was renamed Carnival Radiance after a $200 million refit was completed in October and she commenced service under her new name in December.

Hi KT Travels, did you enjoy the cruise? The Radiance buffet is never really appealing to us compared to some of the other cruise lines we’ve been on lol. We usually eat in the dining room but this time we didn’t see anything on the menu for any of the days that really appealed to us. What is your favorite dish to eat in the main dining room? Shug loves the lobster tail on the longer cruises and I love the chicken cordon bleu. Thanks for watching 😊

Hi Oleander Love, that’s a tough one they both have their pluses and minuses although we lean a little more towards Royal. Carnival has a better selection of food to eat as in more places to eat. Royal has a larger and better buffet and we love the design of the Royal ships. We also think the entertainment on Royal is better. Either way you can’t go wrong cruising is just beautiful. Alan, I heard if you put the beach towel hooks on the bottom of the shower curtain, it helps hold it down. Haven't tried it yet, but worth a try. Thanks for sharing the video, Going on Panorama & Radiance April 2024.
We’ll be on Radiance next month I’ll have to give that a try. I can’t stand that dreaded shower curtain 😉

I was on the Radiance last August and was pleasantly surprised by the buffet food. It was pretty good! I see Alan loves him so chocolate haha

Hi lisa, yes I do love my chocolate ice cream lol. Yes we were on panorama back in December it was an awesome cruise. We did one of our favorite excursions the camels which was an awesome experience. Definitely check out some of our vlogs from that cruise we have several and thank you for watching this one. Also have a great cruise 😊
That's so surprising how empty the waiting area was. In the next year I'll be going on the Radiance a couple of times. I always have a great time
We were also very surprised how empty it was but that must be because everyone was already at the Marketplace eatin because it was crazy crowded lol. We really enjoy Carnival Radiance 😊
I do agree Carnival buffets are the WORST! I did the Radiance last November an was so annoyed. The dining room sucked but had an amazing experience at the Steak house. Food was better.

Yes you sure can as long as they’re in cans. Shug always brings a 12 pack of Coke and I bring a 12 pack of Dr Pepper. She has two heavy duty grocery bags that we use to carry them on with us. Thank you for the question and have a great cruise 😊

Hi I’m cruising the carnival radiance in the next week. I have a question: Will they except an expired driver license with my renewal paperwork from the DMV? Hence California doesn’t print the actual picture on the paperwork. Please advise.

Which cruise line do you like the best? Can you maybe go on a Norwegian cruise if like to see that. I went on roual carribean i like it better than carnival
I would have to say Royal Caribbean is our favorite cruise line. We’ve been on Norwegian in the past and I’m sure we will definitely sail on them again.

Also can I take on water what is it per a cruiser for take on drinks
For Carnival you’re not allowed to bring anything on in a bottle it has to be in a can so if you can find water in a can you could bring that on but that’s still considered part of your 12 pack. You can also pre-order and pay for water with Carnival and have it delivered to your state room so it’s there when you’re board.
We are looking this October. Is that a good time? Will it be cold??
Hi AC Cobra, if you’re looking to do any water activities there isn’t any real good time of the year for Ensenada and Catalina. They never really get warm but yes in October it will be chilly outside. Definitely bring a jacket especially when you’re outside on the deck of the cruise ship. Thank you for the question 😊

Hi Kim, we both brought on a 12 pack each. I brought on a 12 pack of Dr Pepper and Shug brought on a 12 pack of Coke. Thank you for the question 😊

Shug has two sturdy bags that we put them in and we carry them on with us until we get to our state room.

Hi BO KNOTT, the soda fountain drinks are not free. Your free drinks would be lemonade fruit punch apple juice coffee and tea. You’re allowed to bring a 12 of soda on board with you which we always do. Thank you for the question

That’s interesting we were just on carnival panorama December 15 and it did not have it. Also according to Carnival‘s website only the three ships we mentioned have it although carnival jubilee is coming soon.

Hi Nikkiisadiva4843, I don’t see that being a problem. I wouldn’t even take out or mention the paper renewal. Just show them your ID and birth certificate. They’re really just matching up the names on those two but if you’re still not sure I would recommend giving Carnival a call. When are you going? We will be on the Radiance this Monday, September 11. Have a great cruise 😊
@@ShugAlansTravelChannel Thanks for the information. I’ll be on the carnival radiance on the 15th of September for my birthday 🥳 Super excited! It’s my 1st cruise. But I’m praying my brothers receive his DL before the cruise. It literally just expired September 3rd. And I’ve called carnival but most of the CSR live in different states and just read you what the required documents are. Not sure if they really know. Since we live in California and the renewal paperwork does not have the actual picture on it.
With the drivers license number being on both the paperwork and the ID he should be fine. A lot of times it depends on the Rep that’s checking your paperwork. If they’ve been around a while they usually push through it pretty quick just looking at the picture on the ID and checking the birth certificate. Sometimes when it’s a newer employee they try to be more thorough. If that happens then I would pull out the renewal paper and show them that it’s been renewed and the drivers license number on both is the same. If they don’t let that go I would ask to speak to someone else. Let us know how it goes and have a great cruise 😊
