I fully realize I wasn’t thinking clearly and probably could have made some better decisions, but I was in a full blown anxiety attack. I left everything in because I felt like it was an honest reflection of how I was feeling and what the experience was like for me. We live and we learn, hopefully next time I will be better prepared.
You seemed to stay very calm considering! I would have cried. In fact, I almost cried for you watching this. My prayers go out to you. What a scary adventure!
I thought you were handling it very well considering the situation. I was anxious for you. I'm glad you included everything. Sometimes travel is difficult and unhelpful people compound the problem. But your hero Jenn was on the way, and you ran into one very nice Greyhound employee. Looking forward to future videos. Take care.
My friend was treated terribly by Budget rent a car. They got the worst car, broke down on the interstate and was told they were on their own and had to rely on the kindness of strangers. The next car they were given was the exact same model and color needing oil change miles & miles ago.
47:05 the whole time you were walking down the street waving around your laptop around in your hand like that I was so worried that was going to get stolen from you too 😰
Greyhound here in Dallas is horrible...So glad it worked out..I was about to go find you and take you to find your phone. Much respect to the bus driver. ❤
The travel gods always test Jacob to begin the year. It is basically a guarantee. Jenn rolled in with the phone AND Buc-ees so that means you passed. Fair winds and following seas from here. This was an emotional rollercoaster. Literally a movie plot, no one would believe if you hadn't filmed the whole thing. That was one hell of deserved bed flop!
Ugh...I'm so sorry about what happened, Jacob. Greyhound's response to your situation was completely unacceptable! Greyhound is struggling financially and seeing poor customer service like this is a great example of why people are deciding not to travel on Greyhound! Just a tip: I make it a point to always dial my loved ones phone numbers by hand...not rely on my iphone's memory. By dialing my loved ones phone numbers each time I call them, I devote the numbers to memory, so if I lose or forget my phone I can always call them.
So, in the late 70's I was going to a military school. The Commanding General of our military school decided to allow Greyhound to use the cadets as a focus group for their new TV commercials. They would play the same commercial over and over four times each. 40 minutes in a mutiny began to develop as time is at a premium in a highly rated prep school. As the angry voices grew louder and louder we were finally released from the grasp of Greyhound.
We laughed, we cried, we cheered. This was such an epic video that was a roller-coaster of emotions, not only for you, but also us viewers. We just had to watch every moment. You experienced both extremes of humanity and luckily ended with two angels: the bus driver and Jenn. When you're calmer perhaps you can contact Greyhound and relate your experience and compliment the bus driver. Obviously, huge hugs for Jenn for being SO brave and retrieving your phone. What a relief that, after all of that anxiety, everything turned out so well. We hope that the rest of your trip goes much more smoothly. All the best.
One time I went to Six Flags Great America by myself. I didn't fully zip up my pocket on Goliath... and my phone, credit card, ID, and car keys plummeted to the ground. I was completely LOST! It is the WORST feeling in the world and really makes you realize how dependent we are on those little pocket computers. I had to wait 8 hours for the park to close before someone could attempt to retrieve my stuff. Total nightmare!
I'm so sorry this happened to you. So thankful that Jenn was meeting you there. She saved the day. And grateful the bus driver was a nice guy to return your phone.
Jacob, As y'all know I am from the Dallas / Fort Worth area.... I got a little nervous for a minute there... The downtown Dallas bus station is sketchy at best around sunset. Lots of bad things happen there all the time... Glad your safe. Keep these videos coming, love them.
《JEN IS "LITERALLY" A SUPERHERO YASSS SHE RAWKS!🤟🙌》WOW, this was indeed a saga video. Full of everything: action, suspense, horror, comedy, romance etc. It was the bus driver. Sheesh, never would've guessed! Glad it all worked out in the end Jacob. As an Empath, felt sooo bad for you. Wanted to come rescue as well. But kinda far, living here in Canada 🇨🇦
You and Jenn are such a great team. I'm so glad you two have each other. Thanks for doing these travel videos to show us the calamities than can and do happen when you travel. And please sing "I took a midnight train..." at some point. 😊
Jacob, you could have taken your lap and sent and email to your provider and had your phone disabled, so that it could not be used, but am so glad everything turned great! You are very fortunate your bus driver was an honest person!
So I've been commenting as I've been watching the video as you can probably tell lol and I was totally thinking that it was probably the bus driver that was staying at the Baymont!! 😂 I just got to that point of the video. When that person let you use their phone at the bus station you should have just called your phone right away!! Lol
The way you handle stressful situations is inspiring. While in the moment I'm sure it feels like things couldn't be any worse, you still manage to put things in perspective and be optimistic. The most amazing thing I've noticed is you always give other people the benefit of the doubt even if they mistreat you. So sorry this happened, but glad everything worked out! proof it takes the bad to appreciate the good.
Your frustration with the situation is 100% valid. I was on an emotional rollercoaster with you and when you showed the giant eye and said “what are you looking at?!” I laughed out loud. Thanks for being so genuine, Jacob. I’m so glad things worked out and that Jenn is able to be there! 😇
Oh my gosh, I was having a panic attack right along with you! I had to stop and tell myself I wouldn't be watching this video if something really bad happened. This was an action-packed thriller with a comedic ending. Jen saves the day! Take a deep breath and we will look forward to your next adventure! Love you both!
I would have had an anxiety attack too if I lost my phone! I happen to be still a bit old school and when I travel, I keep printed documents with me of plane flights, hotel, tickets etc. Also.. if you have an Apple phone and Apple computer.. all of your contacts would be on your computer. That is one of the reasons I really like Apple. So information is shared among devices. Glad you are ok! 😊
I watched a British guy on RUclips going across the U.S. on Greyhound and it was basically a nightmare hellscape. 😂 He took it in stride, but I would've been pretty stressed.
Probably referring to Noel Phillips. I watched that video as well and it confirmed for me that I will never ride the Greyhound unless I have no other options.
I feel you. I lost my phone in Las Vegas and everything from my banking to airline boarding passes was on it. I felt like I lost a child. I was panicking. Even when I went on a computer at the hotel I could not get into my email because I needed my phone so they can send a text or phone call to say it was me. That is now we a society is dependent on one device.
I seriously want to cry, I'm so happy for you. Great job to both of you for rolling with the punches! Kudos to the driver for taking care of your phone and being kind.
I believe a few of us commented earlier to warn against doing Greyhound. Worst experience ever and should only be done if that is the only transportation you can afford. Makes Amtrak seem like VIP travel!
I rode Greyhound from NY to Los Angeles in 1999 to move there. The airlines would not sell me a one way ticket and Greyhound was having a special. Any ticket was $65 and I paid an extra $10 for a second bag. I wish blogging was thing back then because it was an adventure that I will never do again! I'm happy it all worked out in the end for you. Jen is truly a blessing!
My experience with Greyhound goes back 55 years. I had a great aunt who would take Greyhound to visit my grandmother. When we would drop her off at the Greyhound station to go home, Greyhound would place a luggage tag on her suitcase, and the driver would load her suitcase into the storage compartment. While waiting to place my Great Aunt on the bus, I would watch the bus driver look at the luggage tags to make sure the right piece of luggage was being turned over to the passengers who were disembarking. This procedure was typical of Greyhound in the 1970s. From what I have seen with your trip, anybody can reach in the storage compartment and steal your bag.
I'll NEVER use Grayhound. Wasted a day traveling and they lost my luggage. Took a week for them to find it and get it to me. Also no bathroom. 41:31 NO IT'S NOT JUST A PHONE. You go pushed around, they were RUDE and No help what so ever. They just wanted your money and for you to leave. Please next time take OUR advice. We are looking out for you. 56:00 SUPER JEN TO THE RESCUE
Dang Carpet Bagger. Knuckle sandwiches is old school way. I dig it. Wonderful that you made it to your hotel. What a relief your phone is back and Jen saved the day. You go girl
Listen you did what you had to do when a fiasco hit and you did do a good job- so did Jen. Way to be resourceful and work as a team. Also nice job with using gratefulness to try and gain good perspective and levity and moving on instead of wallowing lol Who knew this terrible day would be a good video. 😂❤
I laughed so hard at the person catching you filming the toilet!! I rode the Greyhound back in the early 90's from Dallas to California. Had a pretty good time. Wishing you better luck.
Jacob thank you for taking us on all your adventures. I know that it's frustrating for you but it's very entertaining for us! We are learning from your mistakes we will never take Greyhound😂
Kind of figured this was the situation when it came to the bus driver holding on to it. Chill out. Relax. Breathe in breathe out. One minute at a time. Probably could have called your phone when you originally borrowed the first phone. Saved you the panic attack.
I've only ridden a Greyhound once back in the early 2000s from Redding CA down to Sacramento. Luckily there were no issues, I didn't forget anything on the bus, but after watching this I'm glad I didn't.
I'm SO sorry! How incredibly stressful! Yes, always go to a nearby hotel if in such a situation. They will help you even if you're not staying there. Just be nice to them. Or a library.
I know the feeling had my purse with my phone stolen it is the worse feeling in the world - everything I needed on my phone and wallet gone for good, took a few phone calls cancel all my stuff, running around get ID and cards replaced; Im so glad everything worked out for you Jacob, Jenn saved the day awe so sweet 🤗
As long as your umm "back entrance" is still intact and you didn't get robbed, I'd say your Greyhound trip was a rousing success Jake. Believe me, it could have been far worse brother!!
I was worried & anxious with you walking around holding your laptop out in the open 🫣 Like that was gonna get stolen next !! Thank goodness for Jenn 🥳🙏🏻🎉 she’s your saviour for sure !! Stay safe both of you Xx
Jacob, a perfect example of why we as travelers need to carry a backup phone on us at all times. A second phone in the luggage would solve everything, except of course, a lost or stolen phone!
The majority of car rental companies either have a very minimal fee or non at all for one way rentals it would have been worth it in this situation lol well food for thought for next time
We are so glad to see Jenn and that everything is back to normal. I could hear the relief and happiness in your voice. She's an angel and so is the bus driver compared to his associates at greyhound
OMG!! That is so horrible. I would call Greyhound and request to speak to a manager, demand a refund on the entire trip due to your horrible customer service experience. Request to speak to a manager!! They need to know about this! At least you are with Jen now. So Sorry about your phone.
Terrible stressful mishap for you but an excellent learning experience for your viewers to be prepared for the unexpected. Sorry for your upset. Thank goodness for Jen. She is, indeed, an angel and hero. We love you both. Safe travels.
I rode greyhound from San Antonio to Athens oh and back, one of those experience I’m glad I went through it but I’ll never do it again. Glad everything worked out for you.
Oh my goodness Jacob...I felt sooo bad for you! I actually had anxiety! I thought you were going to get mugged when you were lost at the railroad tracks 😂 Thank goodness everything worked out in the end and you and Jen are together again💗 What a crazy adventure.
Also Greyhound has devested many of their bus stations so either you get ditched on the side of the road randomly, the airport, or the bus station was taken over or a new one was built for the local bus network so they just use that-which often means all the busses that serve that city tend to use the bus station, but that's really only in the north east where you have Peter Pan and Chinatown Routes
This was a roller coaster of an episode!! I'll say this though I legit felt anxiety watching this episode. My wife travels for work and I worry about just this sort of thing.
I ride Greyhound all the way from fort Walton Beach FL to central valley California! It was right after I got out of basic training/tech school and got to my first duty station and had to get back to CA and get my family and move them all to FL. I choose the cheap way. Boy was that a mistake. This was back in 1990 and they were not all that accommodating back then and not comfortable. Took 3 days and we stopped at every BFE town between both places. I did meet a nice young gal that helped pass the trip but boy was it LONG ride. After that, I said never again! It was an experience. I have never tried the train but after watching your vlogs, I think I will! Sorry you had some troubles in today's adventure!
But Jacob, I hope you will take this away from the miserable experience you just had. You are very adaptable and kept your head about you in a very difficult situation! Says a lot about you. Thank you Jen for being there too. Cute couple!
I had bad days. I still enjoyed the video and the happy ending.
Don't sweat it, Jacob! I'm sorry for your anxiety, but I can tell you this is an excellent video. 😂 Hang in there. No more Greyhound. ✌💜💫
You seemed to stay very calm considering! I would have cried. In fact, I almost cried for you watching this. My prayers go out to you. What a scary adventure!
What a rollercoaster ride that was!! That could be made into a movie with all the twists and turns. So glad it all worked out.
I thought you were handling it very well considering the situation. I was anxious for you. I'm glad you included everything. Sometimes travel is difficult and unhelpful people compound the problem. But your hero Jenn was on the way, and you ran into one very nice Greyhound employee. Looking forward to future videos. Take care.
Lesson learned. I will carry some phone numbers on paper, reservation numbers written down, etc. we all rely too heavily on technology.
Exactly, keep key emergency numbers on paper in your wallet.
My friend was treated terribly by Budget rent a car. They got the worst car, broke down on the interstate and was told they were on their own and had to rely on the kindness of strangers. The next car they were given was the exact same model and color needing oil change miles & miles ago.
47:05 the whole time you were walking down the street waving around your laptop around in your hand like that I was so worried that was going to get stolen from you too 😰
Jacob: "I left my phone on the bus, can you help me?"
Greyhound Lady: "No. Call customer service."
Jacob: 👁👄👁
Sorry that happen to you
My wife and I screamed when Jen showed up to save the day! A hero!
Jen is a true God send. True angel so glad you got your phone back!
Greyhound here in Dallas is horrible...So glad it worked out..I was about to go find you and take you to find your phone. Much respect to the bus driver. ❤
Angie, you are a true sweetheart. Happy early Valentines day
Sure. The next day? 🙄
I've been enjoying riding on your shoulder for various adventures. Glad the saga of the lost phone had a happy ending.
Kudos to you for continuing to record during all that chaos.

I bet having the vlog to vent to in such a desperate state was comforting!
Probably some of the best content out there. Way to go Jen!!!!

So fitting that you're in Texas and you're day sounds like a country song 🎶the day Greyhound broke my heart🎶

That was one of the most heartfelt videos of yours ever!! Thank God for Jen and I am glad everything worked out!! @TheCarpetbagger

Oh I'm in tears! I love you guys so much! Things like this just bring you closer.❤

You go Jen!!! Carpet Bagger she’s your Sweet Baby Angel Facie 😇I love you guys, prayers and best wishes for you both.
For that amount of money, an airline ticket would have been a better choice. Giving several hours more in San Antonio or Dallas.
Loved the last minute plot twist. No one ever suspects the bus driver.
Really nice to bump into you in downtown Dallas even though you had missed the train! Nice meeting you!
A short flight to Dallas never entered your mind?
As it turns out, the Baymont Inn is running short of knuckle sandwiches.
Hooray for Jenn! SO glad you were able to contact her, and that it all worked out in the end.
I seriously want to cry, I'm so happy for you. Great job to both of you for rolling with the punches! Kudos to the driver for taking care of your phone and being kind.
JENNNNNNN!!!!! She saved the day !!! Jenn is awesome!!!!

Settle down Bryon
A Train Wreck of a Bus ride 😂
What a day! Miss the train, lost the phone, couldn't get a hold of anyone, Jen to the rescue. Glad everything worked out.
omg the anxiety i felt from this was phenomenal. Im so glad you, Jen, and phone were re-united.
Dang Carpet Bagger. Knuckle sandwiches is old school way. I dig it. Wonderful that you made it to your hotel. What a relief your phone is back and Jen saved the day. You go girl
My dad always calls his phone when he can't find it! Jenn is a hero for thinking of that! :D
I have a list of important phone numbers written down on a card in my wallet. If you’ve lost your phone, you can at least have the numbers you need.
Yes, Jenn! That's what loving couples do for each other! Jacob, Jenn is a keeper, make it happen! ❤️
you did it just right, sorry for your pains , i can under stand. what a great attitude.
Jen and Jacob Im happy you have recovered your phone. I was getting worried 😊
Listen you did what you had to do when a fiasco hit and you did do a good job- so did Jen. Way to be resourceful and work as a team. Also nice job with using gratefulness to try and gain good perspective and levity and moving on instead of wallowing lol
Who knew this terrible day would be a good video.
Remember the good old days when there were pay phones???
Oh, Jacob! I totally can relate. Once the anxiety ramps up, it's almost impossible to stop.
Panic is no joke.
You need a backup device like a Chromebook or a tablet just for these kind of emergencies.
This is why I don't travel and I just watch you do it. So sorry Jacob. Thank God for Jen.
I haven't walked around Dallas in 55 years. I had dinner at the old Hilton back then. Glad you got your phone back and yes.....Jen is an angel.
Oh my goodness what an awful day!! Thank goodness for Jen!! She's a savior! So happy she got it back to you!
I was very happy that you got your phone back & it was Jen who saved the day!
As long as your umm "back entrance" is still intact and you didn't get robbed, I'd say your Greyhound trip was a rousing success Jake. Believe me, it could have been far worse brother!!
Jenn, we love you
Yay! Jenn to the rescue! So good to see her! Hopefully the rest of your travels will be better.
I was worried & anxious with you walking around holding your laptop out in the open 🫣
Like that was gonna get stolen next !!
How about a credit card and a wallet.
Oh my goodness! This story couldn't have had a happier ending. Yay, Jen!! And yay Bus Driver angel.
Glad it all worked out OK good to see Jen too! Hugs to you both!
Now you know first hand that bus travel is the worst
AGREE
@@Savagemister Hahaha Savage, you called it.
Bus travel is unpleasant at best. It's as uncomfortable as an airplane and as slow (or slower) than a train.
Jen is a keeper, Jacob. I really hope Thing's got better. Till the next one, take care my friends, and as always, safe travels, you two.
God bless jen, what a wonderful woman! I'm so happy for you that it all worked out good Mr carpetbagger.
You are calmer than I would be. I'm sorry that happened to you. You are a awesome person. Stay strong.❤
I really felt this video. I had anxiety for you especially when you were wandering trying to find your hotel.
"Did you loose it already?" lmao Jen!
Greyhound is so sketchy I’m sorry you had to dealt with this 😶 but Jen to the rescue! Super! 🎉
OMG!! That is so horrible. I would call Greyhound and request to speak to a manager, demand a refund on the entire trip due to your horrible customer service experience. Request to speak to a manager!! They need to know about this! At least you are with Jen now. So Sorry about your phone.

So glad you were reunited with Jenn and your phone! Have fun in Houston ❤️
