As a retired firefighter, I love the museum, great video, Jacob. I always look forward to seeing your videos and keep them coming, buddy. Till the next one, take care my friend and as always very safe travels.
Applaud the men and women who manage to do that type of job. Bless all of them, past and present.
Amen to that and bless jacob and family and friends and yours too greatly respect 😘🤩😍🥰💕💞💓💖💖💝💘💌💋👌👍🙏🌷🌼🌻🌺🥀🐞💮🌸💐 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍
Well I really enjoyed San Antonio. Thank you for taking us with you.
Coming from a family of Firefighters (dad, brother, daughter) I really appreciate the fire museum 🫶
I am so happy your videos come online early in the morning on the west coast! I wake up early but don't go out for about 3 hours. It would be so boring without you and a few other great channels.
I love your videos so much! My mom and I have always wanted to visit San Antonio, but can't go. Thanks for "taking us along" So enjoyable! Hope Jen feels better soon. I have fibromyalgia pretty severe, so I understand how she is feeling! Tell her we love her! Keep safe!
The Buckhorn saloon and Museum was very interesting & nice to see thank you for taking me along
Take care Jacob
Stay safe
The fire museum was a treat thanks for showing us Jacob be safe
Good Afternoon Jacob 🙋🏽. Be careful and safe out there ‼️. And Thank You for letting Jennifer know that we were asking about her. I saw her video last night and I was very happy to see her and that she is ok. Thank You Jacob 🙋🏽❤.
Welcome to my hometown. Sunny today. I was in that crowd when you and Adam the Woo visited us. Sorry you will miss the cattle drive downtown on Saturday (2-1) to kick off the Rodeo.
This was spectacular. My dad retired as a Battalion Chief. SF fire department. Loved the Buckhorn Saloon so cool!! Thank you. I really enjoyed this.
I'm really glad you took that tour, you could see from the top, I'm sure on a clear day it would be nice to have a further view but it was satisfying. I liked it.
Morning Jacob 🤓📸 good to see u on, thanks for sharing this museum on San Antonio Fire, it was interesting to see on their history. You take care.
Another great day in San Antonio !!! You got another room in a awesome Hotel !!! I hadn't heard of Tru Hotel but I know Hilton. Like the two museums & loved The Tower of The Americas !!! Thanks Jacob for taking us along !!! See you in your next video. 🙂🤠
Jacob, your RUclips Channel is great and so are you. Texas is a great state in which to visit. The people of Texas are so polite and courteous. As always, Alan.
Hey there 👋 carpetbagger it's always amazing to see amazing video 😊
I’m impressed
Loving the hotel reviews along with the train videos and showing ways to get around cities without a car. Great Videos Jacob!!!
Great museums.
You’ve sold me on San Antonio as a place I need to check out.
Jacob your videos made my days I love watching them the new & classic videos you made
As a Fan of the San Antonio Spurs Basketball Team, I always wanted to go to San Antonio so thanks for showing a sample of what it looks like. Im sure seeing the Alamo and The River Walk is well worth it.
Love going on adventures with u. Im now considering taking the train. I just noticed your shirt, I'm from Winchester, VA, and my husband is from San Antonio, TX so that's a cool coincidence.
😮
Always a great day when the carpetbagger films inn your home town🎉
I appreciate your videos Jacob I have trouble walking I can walk good and then just go down and further I walk the weaker I get so I can't do 99.9 percent what you show I appreciate it
We ate at Casa Rio when we visited in 2018. A great mariachi band serenaded my wife, We also went up the Tower of the Americas. I remember the walk to the tower was much further than we expected.
During the 80’s as a child, my family used to visit Corpus Christie, Tx from Oklahoma every summer. One year grandma took us to San Antonio to see the Alamo & Riverwalk. As an 8 yr old with no knowledge of history or significance, I vaguely remember the Alamo as a boring experience. Though I do remember the cannons as being pretty cool. But my most vivid & cherished memory was riding the riverboats and especially eating the absolute best crispy shell tacos at Casa Rio right next to the river. Not only that, I’m almost positive we sat at the exact same end table that you chose. 😀🥂
You know, your trip convinced me. I need to go to San Antonio.
Thank you for the tour of the San Antonio Fire Museum and the Buckhorn Saloon Museum. The Mexican food you were eating looked delicious! 😊
great video and the buckhorn Saloon was a cool place to visit when I visited there years ago !
Loved this..... perhaps a few corrections though the sky ride was at Brackenridge Park, but the area where they are displayed now is Hemifair Park..... fun fact btw for the 1968 fair there was a monorail built for the fair..... sadly by my childhood in the 1980's it was no longer there..... but you could have avoided all that construction heading to the tower by taking the river through the convention center..... kinda tricky if you don't know the area, but still a fun time.... wish La Villita could have been shown though..... next time you come down to reexperience the Buckhorn I would recommend grabbing the city bus out to Brackenridge Park and checking out the Zoo, the Japanese Tea Gardens and the Brackenridge Park Train..... also would love to see footage of the original Amtrak station in San Antonio...... right next to the modern much smaller station.....
Awesome video thanks for sharing with us 😊
I love these videos and I love watching them daily or whenever that is
I watch daily 😊
I LOVE TRU hotels! SO clean! Have stayed at the FLorence SC location on my trips back home to NJ❤️
I love the San Antonio Riverwalk! I've only visited once, but it was absolutely amazing. We also ate at Casa Rio one day we were there. We were in town for a conference, so it was extra busy and we had to sit inside, but the food was really good. We were afraid it may just be a tourist trap with subpar food, but it did not disappoint. I'll definitely have to make it back out there some day.
It's interesting that the saloon has all those buck horns. Because the Hall of Horns museum used to be located about a mile south of downtown when I was a kid.
The Buckhorn Saloon looks great. It's totally got a Ripley's vibe to it.
The Buckhorn bar was originally at the brewery of Lone Star beer.
The armadillo is also found in Arkansas , saw them next to the I 40
Armadillo are all over
Fun fact @39:57 mark. The Saltgrass Steakhouse is located in the historic Casino Building. Before it became a historical landmark, my neighbor, Bob Brenner, leased the 1st and 2nd floor and operated Club Aquarius in the late 1960s to around 1974. They had an apartment plus storage space on the second floor. They owned a house off of Vance Jackson (Dellview area). I used to play along with my friend Mark Brenner on second floor terrace. We used to grab roof pebbles next to the terrace and drop them on unsuspecting tourists. Our favorite target was hitting the hats of the Park Rangers.
That meal at Casa Rio looked delicious. Thanks for the tour! Definitely need to make a trip out there.
Another cool video, thanks Jake! 😉
😂👍
Thank-you Jacob for your wonderful videos!! I am so enjoying your train travels! I have been watching every day and I think you are doing such a great and fun job showing fun train rides and touring cities with public transportation.
Thank you so much for all your efforts making this video 🎉
The Buckhorn was the only museum I sadly got to see during my time in San Antonio, I never got to go in the tower either.
Great video again. And on the support your welcome. Love your journey and videos. Been a fan for a couple yrs so keepem coming and be safe my man✌️😎
25:40 Funny that Atari was not the mascot for the Handheld gaming system, the Atari Lynx. Lol.
We were at San Antonio years ago, I think I need to go back! Thank you 😊
Thank you.
yay more squished penny’s , I love squished pennies!
Thank you Jacob. Loved the buckthorn museum. How dare they close early. See you tomorrow. Bev 🇬🇧
That food looked so good!
Sorry the weather wasn't cooperating. But a great video none the less. I like San Antonio and the food. See you tomorrow. 😊
I always stay at the Hampton Inns when I travel with my family. Last trip was at Daytona beach. I love your vlogs Jacob. Please keep traveling and take us with you. Safe going my friend
Good morning Jacob and Jenn
Love your train travels. Stay safe.
I love the Buckhorn Saloon. So many cool things to see there. If you have time check out Shilo’s. We had a lot of great food in San Antonio, but Shilo’s was our favorite.
A great tour Jacob! No Bull!😁
Thanks for taking us along. I enjoyed the firemen's museum but I am not a fan of taxidermy. I did enjoy the oddities.
I luv that grand staircase at Buckthorn Saloon
Suggestion for a future series: worlds fair locations
You tend to hit spots on your travels already but maybe a dedicated journey just for worlds fair spots 🤔
That’s actually a really fun roadtrip idea
Very good video watch Jen sting this morning she came on first and I do like watching you in the morning and then we sometimes make another appointment to watch you again the same video because my husband falls asleep anyway see you tomorrow
Great timmes jacob !! Cant wait to see the next trip !!!! Oh the other river walk thing is in kanas city so theres okc and pueblo for other river walks and boat rides and kc has a ferris wheel please check them out 😊
Love it, brother!
There is a Firefighters Museum in Yisplanti in Michigan....EMU area...not sure if still opened. But...can look up.
I liked SA when i visited there 30 years ago.
30 years ago the Buckhorn museum was at the old Lone Star brewery... samples of Lone Star at the bar. Great place.
You should carry a small fold up umbrella with all this rain!
Wish I could have had a chance to meet you. I live in San Antonio and watch your videos! I love downtown!
Awesome video as always Jacob
We got to see the Tower of the Americas and Hemisfair being built. Safe travels to you.
Those sky-ride cars bring back memories of my childhood. They used to take you from the San Antonio Zoo to the Japanese Tea Gardens. If you get back and get a chance, take the Riverwalk north to the Pearl area. Also, in San Antonio make sure you call it Queso, not nacho cheese haha. Not sure how hard they are to find, but if you get a chance to try a puffy taco, they are my favorite San Antonio tacos.
Jacob, you missed something local to your hometown.... some of the newer models of firehouse tips were manufactured in Valparaiso, at Task Force Tips (TTT embossed on them).
hope you enjoy yourself in Dallas,as i live in Dallas and know there is plenty to see
That was good bar closed early wet bummer good day thanks
I'm sorry your visit this time was marred by bad weather you never know in Texas lol. Does sky buckets from brackenridge Park is actually over by the zoo and Japanese Tea Gardens, I rode it once a long time ago before they tore it down. There is also a train ride in Brackenridge Park. Maybe next time you come you can give you some other spots if you have your car. Don't forget we have the missions also on the south side of town. Safe travels
@@denisefink507 or yet another mode if transport getting around the downtown area would be the trolley and take the city bus to Brackenridge Park.... pass by the Pearl and the old Buttercrust Factory and by where Kiddie Park used to be located on Broadway
You definitely seem to have bad luck with private events. 😅 I love these vids and what I'm learning from them. ❤
I just watched a video of Madame Toussads in New York, NY. You need to go there, Jacob! Some of their wax figures had animatronic features, which blew my mind. They also have some cool displays that are not just celebrities, etc.
I haven’t been in a very long time
I’ve heard one of the reasons the USA doesn’t do World’s Fairs is the last 3 USA fairs lost money. Starting with Knoxville TN in 1982.
Brackenridge Park is actually further north of downtown by the Zoo and the SA River headwaters. Roosevelt said it was one of his favorite places in the world. A nice scenic park northeast of downtown.
The Worlds Fair is in Osaka Japan this year
Awesome video nice museum s
You need to come back during Fiesta! And check out the capitol in Austin.
Good afternoon Jacob!
I liked the flame effect in that window.
It was really cool
Great videos
7:15 Maybe that's where "fighting fire with fire" comes from
Seeing you eating well is just amazing 😊 you look a little bit thin nowadays
Good morning Mr carpetbagger Buenos dias glad tour doing San Antonio
Always fun to Foos
From what I’ve read, Teddy Roosevelt was almost a teetotaler. He would occasionally drink a small amount of Champaign or wine at a fancy dinner but that was about it. The other Rough Riders, however, I think were known for living up to the name, and I would t doubt they liked to get drunk. Back in the day saloons were also a place you could get a meal so I wouldn’t say it’s impossible that he ever went there or had a celebratory glass of beer or something. But I do know when he was president he once sued a newspaper for slander (and won) for calling him a drunk.
Peace
48:46 they’re having the Osaka Expo this this year in Japan. Maybe you should make a trip overseas.
Jacob ya need a your own custom The Carpetbagger merch UMBRELLA ☂️ 🌂 I mean who would LOVE one 😍 ME! ☔️
Really enjoyed San Antonio, named for St. Anthony.
i live in san antonio i wish i could have met you
I probably would faint 😂if I met Jacob 😊
I hope you get a chance to try puffy tacos while you’re in San Antonio. There’s even a place by the train station. It’s a San Antonio tradition!
Hey Jacob I hope your a Hilton member with the amount of hotel stays you do in a year you can really rack up some free stays
Proud diamond member
Quick question. Do you keep all the Zoltar fortune cards you get? If so you must have every kind there is. Thanks as always!
Interested in the cost breakdown for some of your Amtrak trips when you have the chance. Would you just rather fly based on cost?
It was raining here at Los Angeles
