    I got my ShopSabre 23 last June and it’s absolutely the best money I’ve spent on a machine. I can’t figure out why anyone would waste their money on a cheaply made Chinese piece of junk. I can’t believe how well built they are and I’d say the best bang for your buck.

    It’s a nice robust machine. I bought mine with the upgraded HSD spindle and Mitsubishi vfd. It’s night and day quiet compared to a plain router. it has some balls too but it’s expensive.

      @@reloadNshoot I’m seriously considering buying this machine but it adds up quick. I got 11k bid for one with router. Still weighing options.

      @@ivanscountrymusicandcars2357 No doubt about it adding up quickly. I had the laser, spindle and 4th axis upgrades and delivered it was $15K. Its a lot of money as I am just a diy'r but it's a quality and robust machine. I have had a few hicups but when calling SS for help they are always on point.

    I’m so glad I found this video! I’ve been wanting to get into guitar/bass making with a CNC for a while now. The ShopSabre 23 was recommended to me a few weeks ago, along with the CAMaster Stinger II. Can you tell me what program you are running on your ShopSabre for your CAD/CAM? Also, do you have to run the CNC with the computer provided? Or could I upload the ShopSabre software to my laptop and run it that way? I plan to use Rhino for CAD/CAM applications. Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

      I’m using Rhino 6 and V-Carve Pro for CAD/CAM. Yes I’m running it with the included PC, and if you want to do it from your laptop, I think shop Sabre can help you with that if you call them.

      @@Dankma Thanks for the reply. I think I’ll take your advice and speak with SS about running it with a laptop. How do you like the machine overall after 6 months of use? Looking back on your purchase, would you have done anything differently? Is there an option you wish you had included with your purchase? I have a sales call scheduled for Monday with Jesse from SS to discuss options. I figured I pick your brain since you are using the machine primarily for guitar making, just as I would. Thanks again!

    Geeze that much $$$ and it has a router not a spindle. That’s nuts.

    What is the thickest material you have worked with? I'm looking for a small-ish machine to do 3D mold making, and while this machine looks amazing, I'm worried the gantry is too low.

    • @Dankma
      @Dankma 3 года назад

      So the Gantry has a travel of 5” total, then the length of the bit has to be taken into account. But let’s say overall you can work with up to 3” pieces. If this is not enough for you, I’ve seen Laguna have a 10” gantry.

      @@Dankma Thanks. The project I need it for will be close to the 2" cut depth and just under 3" total thickness. So yeah, I think it will be fine, but it is super easy for me to get carried away and want a machine that can do everything!
      (I want to get a ShopSabre machine because like the brand- I like that they have a seemingly unlimited array of accessories and upgrades, and they're close to me.)

      This is the best purchase i've ever done ever i think, This machine it's a thank, there's nothing "Benchtop" about it, other than the size. The big regret would be not getting the spindle, this router is LOUD as hell.
