This man made grown men cry with the anthem. The emotion he put into it. He sang that like a love song to someone that he lost and wanted back sooo bad. That’s how he made me feel…
❤ DUDE MURDERED the National Anthem. Chills, tears, everything you can feel. UNBELIEVABLE how he made it his own and stayed true to the anthem. A moment is history that will not be topped, or forgotten. It’s the pinnacle and he’s all alone on that mountain top.
Not only did you nail it, you set such high stakes for everyone else! I loved Pinks reaction „What about the rest of us? Why would we ever sing again, ever?“ You are master!
All I’m gonna say is if there’s ever a draft and I get drafted I want him to sing the anthem before we deploy…. This made me so Damm proud to be an American
This man has an absolutely beautiful soul and is a brilliant song writer and singer. I have seen him in concert many, many times and every time he speaks straight to my soul. ❤❤❤
How crazy is it that I am never heard of this man I’ve heard some of his music and suddenly he’s my favorite musician ever speaks to my soul. I have forgotten how much I love music thank you, Chris Stapleton keep writing such wonderful songs I am enamored.❤️
He’s being modest because it wasn’t just a good job thing, now onto the game, that was one the all-time great performances of the anthem, if not the greatest period.
I’m not really a country fan but he killed it. He has an amazing voice. I checked out Starting Over and that’s a perfect album. Chris Stapleton is a legend
The most simple, passionate, and pure Anthems the United States could ever hope to have. I felt his Appalachian roots all the way back to when his/our Ancestors settled in the KY mountains. It was disturbingly beautiful.
Gosh, Chris did an EXCEPTIONAL job with the National Anthem. He made it look so easy and minimalistic, but it was PHENOMENAL and his vocal choices were so challenging. And what I loved most about it, was that despite the fact that he made it LOOK so minimalistic, it was SUPREMELY emotionally powerful and impactful. THAT, my dear friends, is true musical artistry. Huge respect.
Chris Stapleton, Whitney Houston That's it nobody else should even try It takes so much courage to do what he did just to begin with but then to go past that and blow the roof off the place with one of the absolute best performances/renditions of that song ever is really an amazing feat To bring the masses to full blown tears from children and women to full grown men is to shape in their hearts in an appreciation for that song like never before There is an excellent video on youtube about the unexpected story behind the Star Spangled Banner and why it's the National Anthem that is astounding to watch and learn about. Once you understand why that poem was written and what transpired to inspire those words you can never forget them. I recommend if you don't know much about the history of the US National Anthem to search for a video on it because it will leave you feeling patriotic for days to come. Chances are you'll end up watching the same one because it's insanely popular for being so good. Then turn on Chris Stapleton's version and close your eyes. If you enjoy crying, it's for you. Sometimes I Cry.
I did a real big anthem performance for my school. Big stadium, big crowd, and I nailed it. The sound quality was amazing, and frankly I thought I was amazing. I made the mistake of trying to follow it up at the baseball game the next week and it kinda took away from how special the previous performance was. I’m glad he’s deciding to let it go after that. It takes a lot of humility to be able to do that. Good on ya Chris. You were absolutely amazing my man.
Brother, your rendition of the anthem is the most humble patriotic soulful performance ever. It is the benchmark to what all other will be compared. You made it about America, the song, and the people instead of about look how good I can sing (even though you are amazing). Kudos to you.
Oooooh My Gawd!!! Chris, no one will top you ever. EVER! I will try my hardest (which is pretty sad) to sing it your way forever more!! I bow down. You're the absolute KING of our anthem. LOVE YOUR'S SO MUCH!
It's January 2024, and I have listened to this version of the anthem countless times, just to bring myself to tears because of how beautiful it is! Plus I'm an eagles fan so the combo was everything! Thank you Chris!
I have listened to them all. Jimmy, Stevie, they are all great….this one makes me so proud, it has the most soul, the guitar, the voice, Chris Stapleton fan for life!
As a former marine who served in Iraq when I saw his performance my chest swelled up with pride and my eyes teared up and I looked up and thanked the Lord I was born an American 🪖🇺🇸
I never thought anybody would get even close to Whitney and Cher's performance. But Chris proved me wrong. My man brought grown ass men to tears. Chris gets 2nd place.
I am not the most patriotic, for many reasons…not trying to start a debate: I said that purely to say, listening to Chris sing the National Anthem made me ugly cry. He just has a way to make anything that comes out of his mouth, so meaningful and felt.
Love the fact that he waited for his opportunity to sing the anthem at the Super Bowl and not some random mlb game on a Tuesday… he was selective in his process and absolutely hit a home run!
This man will be ever remembered for that performance and no one will ever top that one!!!! That man has the voice of an angel

Now he will be forever remembered alongside Whitney Houston as the two best national anthem performances.
What does she remembered for, lip syncing the national anthem at the super bowl?

Whitney and Chris. All time best performances of the Anthem

The greatest rendition of the American National Anthem of allllllll time.
Lol okay lol
The humility is admirable.

To me it's the greatest the national anthem has ever been sung. It wasn't just a home run he knocked it into the next county.
The Eagles coach being near tears at the end of the FIRST LINE of the song tells you all you need to know.
He wasn’t near tears. He was holding back from balling
He was near at the start. He had a pair of rivers on his face by the end
He should be the only one to do it from now on
I mean, if you're gonna one-and-done it, that's the way to do it. He definitely didn't mess up.
Best anthem of all time I’ll never forget it
This one will be remembered forever, and for the opposite reason of messing it up. I think it's the best one I've ever heard.
