@@tonycstech Great video, did you have to rotate the motor back to its original coordinates after the valves were adjusted? Or did you leave it lined up at the “T”?
Thanks but you skipped the part that everyone wants to know. The manual says "Valve Lash= .05mm". Converted to inches it is 0.001968504 or .002 for both valves.
It does not have to align perfectly. If you see it, its good enough. remove the cover on the left as shown and inside you will see your T or what ever mark there is. Typically you get 2 marks, one is like "its coming soon" and second is "thats it" If rockers dont move is piston is moving up, its heading to the TDC. You start looking for marks at that point. Last mark is where TDC is, unless you went too far and piston is going down.
It looks like he is using kick start to crank engine. Alternatively, I believe there is a cover at the center of the main crank case that allows you to attach a socket to turn the crank.
@@tonycstech ty for making the vid and replying i just got the bike at the first of the year, but im going to just change the spark plug and find a shop to make a bracket for the back, and some spacers at home depot. if that doesn't work then ill buy new carb
@@codywojo8037 i got mines from a dealer for 995 before taxes. Invest in loc tight because some bolts may loosen. And its alot of maitinence in begging before 500 miles. Change fluids every 10 hours and use 93 pump gas nothing less. The carb thing i havent figured out yet. Going to try new spark plug first, but you can find upgraded carb for 20 online.
@@codywojo8037 lol thx, but it was trade in with 50 miles already on her. Check out ricky power sports in texas. they can ship anywhere in 50 states, and have good deals on brand new ones.
@@tonycstech allot of people use the Honda manual for the 125 cc .. since this is a clone just bored out (if I remember correctly) of that very engine .. Although your skepticism is with Merritt.
Brilliant top notch video on the valve lash...probably the best I have ever seen on a 250 ( TBR, Hawk etc. )
Holy crap, a lash adjustment video that actually gives me a clear camera angle 😮🎉 awesome vid, you are indeed owed a like sir 👍🤟
thanks for the lesson, I will be tackling this today
What happened with the new carb you ordered?
I gave this video a like because you asked for it, plus it was very entertaining-lol.
I appreciate that

Have you noticed a noice difference?
How did you do the fine ajustment to get the "T" lined up perfectly? was it from the hole to the side of the engine cover?

@@scottmiller5859 am sure he opened inspection hole on the left that tells him that
Yes, the large inspection cover below where you see the TDC marking has a 14mm but you rotate counterclockwise to advance.
Nice video I guess...(sarcasm)
Thanks for relieving my anxiety about doing this. I have a Pitster Pro XTR.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!!
Thank you for watching.
Dont forget to click like. Thats all i ask in return.

@@dancingwulf3351 Hi did your hawk 250 come as messed up as his? Or was yours in better shape and your seat fit fine?

What clearances did you use on the valves itself?

Most do a .03-.04mm and a .05-.06 on the exhaust side
moto cheez diss eh
I liked this viedo because you explain everything well but also because you don't buy into the BS that this engine is a 250.
It's called a 250 because you kept modded to be a true 250
Tysm
The new bike only made of chinesium
Sorry didn't notice you made a video ... Dang and it didn't help ? Crud ... Well that's sorted at least
