You are all wrong. The grandfather didn’t know about Corey until his malignant narcissistic son wanted him to. Corey was with his maternal grandmother while his mother struggled with her addiction. When she sought child support he started making waves with CPS for custody. Corey’s grandfather learned about it from his daughter & only then they brought Corey to live with them . Chris was allegedly going back to school to finish getting more teaching credentials. If Corey lived with grandparents child support wouldn’t be required & they would take care of Corey when Chris was gone. Chris saw it as a “winning situation” and it fit his lifestyle….no support obligation & his family would care for Corey. So Chris screwed everyone. But he wasn’t “father material”. Corey cramped his style. I imagine “Grandpa” was thrilled to pick up “daddy duty”. Then Chris was off the hook. But he’s too self-centered & was probably jealous of Corey’s relationship with Grandfather. Malignant narcissists MUST have all the attention all the time. He’s a real piece of work.

I'm not sure if the grandfather and grandmother are sad that their grandson was murdered or if they tear up because they see their son and know he is going to jail for life. Their son must have hated his little boy. He even bit him on the head while making him run on the treadmill.
