Blue fire will always have a place in my heart, it was the first coaster with inversions i enjoyed (note i was about 10/11) and got me into roller coasters, it isn’t the best, but it is enjoyable

But nowadays and many inverting coasters later, I think this ride is fine, but there are many others I like better (Wodan is also my favorite at Europa Park!) Hm...honestly it's been years since I've been on Blue Fire and back then it was my first launch coaster ever. I was somewhat experienced with them at the time tho, so I did think it wasn't an extreme ride by any means but that actually is why I kinda liked it. Take a B&M inverter that really kicks your butt with the g-forces for example. Those coasters are tough to do marathons on, but since Blue Fire is so tame, you can easily ride it multiple times in a row. I even liked the layout too (and I remember actually getting hangtime in the loop in the last row). But I'd really have to ride it again and see what I'd think nowadays. Spinning Cars on BF would be amazing. Europapark you tested them on it already, make it a permanent thing!
I have literally waited all my life for someone that agrees with me on bluefire. Lackluster and force less are perfect words to describe it! Just be prepared to be attacked by the Mack fanboys 🤣🤣
I've never actually been to Europa Park, but I think Blue Fire is good for what it is. It's a prototype roller coaster presumably intended to appeal to the general public rather than to enthusiasts. The general public doesn't always want forceful rides, so this ride and the others it led to like Icon and Copperhead Strike shouldn't entirely be faulted for not being forceful. That said, I agree with you that the ride would probably be a lot more exciting for everyone if it used spinning trains, and I'd like to see Europa Park switch this ride's standard trains out for them.
I also don t think there is one special impressive thing about Blue Fire, but for me it is still a very great coaster, because it combines many very good aspects. I believe the only coaster with a launch I've ridden was Maverick which was a ton of fun. I think the most intense ride I rode was Fury 325 and while I loved it, it also made me feel sick for a while afterwards. Considering all that information is why I think I'd probably enjoy it a lot, as it seems fast and fun without being too intense much like Intimidator.
I think it's actually a great Ride. Of course there are more forcefull rides and the launch definitely is forceless but the first 2 Inversions give some really nice Airtime. And the last one is awesome as you said. Overall its one of the best coasters in germany for sure.
Europa park didn't have a noteworthy "coaster" until fairly recently. Blue Fire probably isn't the "signature attraction". It's a family park - the entire "thrill" genre doesn't really sit well with the park anyway. Blue Fire is probably as far as the park would go in that direction.
Ridden this in May and thought it was pretty decent. This was my first launched coaster and I enjoyed it.Cant wait to visit Taron this summer so I can experience some real launches
I think your points about Bluefire are fair, I visited shortly after it opened and it was my first launched coaster at the time and for a few years I loved it. Recently after riding Taron or Karacho I started getting a bit bored with Bluefire though. It’s not a bad ride, but you can just feel it was the prototype. The technology was already there, but the layout needed improvement. I haven’t had the chance to try any of the other Mack launched coaster, but copperhead strike or Helix look like they learned their lesson from Bluefire.
stumbled upon this(saw it only on release) and i gotta say, blue fire is a gamble, been to EP this year it was running the best I've experienced, the lauch was stronger the inversions were whippier it was so much fun, so i guess this is one of thoose rides that you gotta pray to coaster gods for a good day on it, yes it can be unerwhelming if you catch it in a bad day Also mack rides is now selling changes to every launch coaster that they can have a spinning car, helix, icon, coperhead can have a spinning car in they want, tested again on blue fire but no change stick, also thoose spining cars just like ride to happiness are free spin with a rotation limit
That's the biggest problem at Europa Park. Almost all their coasters are Mack prototypes. So, all these rides are playing everything suuuper safe in terms of ride quality. Then try to make up for it with theming and experience. Sometimes works, often doesn't.
While I've never actually ridden Blue fire, the way you described your reaction to it, was nearly identical to what I thought after riding Icon. It just felt lacking I guess. Like it could be really good but it just... isn't there I guess.
Although i thought the same for a while, i dont know if the midcourse was running fast, but i recently got a ride in the back row with a couple good pops of flojector airtime and the zero g rolls on the twisted horseshoe roll were also very zero g-ey
You know what: I dreamed of visiting Europa-Park (350 miles north of my hometown, not far from Phantasialand) for quite some time and when I planned my visit I was also really looking forward to riding Blue Fire. Unfortunately I can 100% confirm how you feel about that coaster, it also pretty disappointed me, even after ride 2 and 3. Needless to say: Wodan and especially Silver Star convinced me way more! Rode Silver Star like 6 times and wow, that blew me away!
Blue Fire was a pretty unique ride on opening in Europe so I can see why it was hyped but I rode it and thought it was really disappointing. I'll take Wodan over Blue Fire any day.
It’s like this ride was designed to be a lot faster, that’s why the launch track is so long, just look at it, it goes to way to slow threw every element.
It actually doesn't go slow enough. It needs to go through those elements slower so you can get some good hang time. That's what a mack launch coaster is about.
Kieran Fulcher but look at the first over bank and every airtime hill and turn, I mean, if it was a little slower it would be more about hangtime and floater airtime but if it was a bit faster it would be more intense and rapid but right now it’s in between making it kind of weird and mixed
This ride is stunning at night. You actually should see that. Get a night ride also and you will be more impressed! It might not be the best, but its just a fun ride. I also wish there was a bit more force, but I might not have had the highest of expectations. That might also helped me enjoying it more. Anyways, good review, keep it up!
Taylor it is interesting to see that we have completely opposite opinions on this ride. I rode Blue Fire once and I really enjoyed it. I thought it was very forceful and had a really good ejector airtime moment going into the mid course. I actually enjoyed it more than I thought i would. That being said, I only got one ride and it was in the front row. I think that if you got to ride in the front then your opinions would have changed. It could be that the ride was not running well when you went, but anyways that's my opinion.
IMO the biggest problem with this ride is it is way too perfectly executed. Which sounds weird at first but I would argue you don't even need that seat mount because you are constantly mildly pushed into your seat - except for the last slow inversion. That's amazing from an engineering point of view, when you think about the three inversions, the loop and the two steep curves feeling like you are riding your bicycle but kind of boring for a megacoaster. It is still fun to ride of Course and the park is remarkably amazing.
I can see why Blue Fire disappointed you, but try to re-ride it in the future with another state of mind. Blue Fire is not the extreme launch coaster that some hope it to be, i personally enjoy Blue Fire véry much due to it’s exceptionally smooth, comftable, floaty ride experience. It’s not intense at all, that’s true, but i personally think it is a very solid, re-ridable fun coaster that more delivers the soaring around feeling rather than extreme elements and launches like it’s German brother Taron that is the exact opposite in terms of intensity and purpose.
Don’t you guys hate how like we know so much about coasters and you go with someone and they don’t know anything it just makes me mad lol great vid Taylor
I don't think blue fire is that weak because it is a prototype, but it is because Mack Rides (who are also the owners of Europa Park) want to be a 100% family-friendly park. That is why they don't have any Thrill coasters in the park (and propably won't get any thrill coasters in the furure). Having ridden Blue Fire over 50 times, I can only agree with a score of 6.5.
I agree with everything. I didn't know anything about Europa Park so this looked insane. Sadly it was indeed rather boring. It's the perfect "extreme" coaster for people that aren't so keen on coasters in general.
Me in the US: Tons of excellent classic, GCI, GG, RMC creations: exist USA: El Toro is the best Me: They could at least re-track it well every once and a while..
yes, oddly. Personally, the intensity definitely makes it feel more rough in places (like the first big turn, the first hill, and the one before you go into the back section), and, well why wouldn't it? But it's odd that seemingly everyone is ok with this but complains about GCI coasters that are like 5 years old, or even some classics which slow down enough to barely even be rough in spots by comparison. also, thanks for not being like "oh they re-track it all the time" like the ridicoulous fanboys who say this and have nothing to back it up. @@germancoasterenthusiast3123
The best way to build a following is to do something unique and different! Don't copy what others are doing, because you're exactly right, everyone would say you're copying.
Omg that trim hits a lot harder then Steel Taipans at Dreamworld, ST is actually very forceful with he triple launch and that final inversion I’m hanging out the side of the seat. I’m very shocked with that trim as well. I ride it today and did the spinning seats… it is something hahahah I was on my back around some of those turns
I've never been to Europe, so I wouldn't really know what to expect. I really don't like Mid Course Brake Runs on any coaster, cause those decrease the speed of the rides. The Arrow Dynamics Corkscrew was a prototype and it's still going strong to this day. I think that because it's a Prototype, Blue Fire should stay just the way it is and I agree that it looks like a good coaster, but the speed doesn't look like it goes 62 mph. Here's an idea, if the GP tried to be more like Coaster Enthusiasts, then the theme park community would be much better....I think hehe!
This video pretty much sums up how I feel about 90% or more of anything Intamin has designed, highly acclaimed or on the lower end. It's as if the GP or the enthusiasts either only care for the launches to judge a whole coaster (if you can call kingda ka that), don't care if some have poor restraints. I would never dare diss Maverick or i305 (not even MF, it's only overrated because it's at Cedar Fair), but holy crap that whole company has coasters with way too much downtime, or are so overrated with their own megacoasters (including superman the ride) or Xcelerator, even, etc. Mack didn't do a great job with Blue Fire and their launches may not be a wow, but the actual ride experience is solid, twisting and turning with plently of just about everything (inversions, hills of any kind, twisty track, etc), and in many cases also smoother.
I had it the other way around. I loved Blue fire but was disappointed by Wodan. I was expecting Wodan to be better than Troy from Toverland but it didn't even get close IMO
Im slowly getting tired about the fact that you dont seem able to accept that lack of force is also something that can make a ride good or enjoyable - sure it caters to a completely different audience but thats intended. Blue fire was the rollercoaster that introduced my girlfriend to the more "full sized" coasters and she was glad it wasnt that forceful - you cant just jump into maverick for your first rides.... As Europa Park is a VERY VERY family oriented park I'm pretty sure they really tried hard to avoid making Blue Fire forceful. Lack of force (also known as weightlessnes) is also a great experience and you get a lot of that on Blue Fire: The first element sort of has that (you complained about lack of hangtime) the loop does that (you complained about lack of hangtime) and there are several floater hills aswell as a Zero G roll (that element is literally called "NO FORCE ROLL")... Really gotta say, i like your videos and the edits but the fact that you dont manage to see lack of force as an intended experience is sad.
I did also like Blue Fire back when I rode it, but even then it felt a bit inconsistent. That hill through the loop for example feels like it was really forced to go through there and the midcourse is a bit unfortunate too. I personally like weightlessness but not necessarily positive forces, so it appealed to me personally :)
@@alexguerin9472 I never said his opinion was wrong but it doesnt make good content if you are only going to focus on how forceful a coaster is. It makes everything super one dimensional because a rough, short coaster with sub average layout like furious bakko gets a good review pretty much only based on the fact that it is forceful, while others (not only talking blue fire here), that have a much better layout, are smooth, family friendly and all that get a bad review just for not offering enough force. I would go as far as to say i dont really care about the reviews anymore because i know they are from the perspective of a "force junky" who will just ignore pretty much anything but how forceful a ride is. A good review should be able to see what a specific coaster was meant to be and then rate it at that - not what you wish it was. Just watch any Mack launched coaster review on this channel you will hear the sentence "it would be better if the launch was more forceful and the entire thing would be a bit quicker" every single time. By now it should be clear that Mack is keeping the launches on the relaxed side and forces low to increase the potential audience and have the coasters somewhere between family coasters and thrill rides.

Agree! Blue Fire is ok but I definitely like Wodan much more.
Was at the Europa Park yesterday and I've never been on a real roller coaster before and I thought this thing was fun as hell. Is it really as bad as he says? Kinda makes me wish I went to another theme park because I just came for the coasters and I feel like I could have tried out better ones.
honestly no, you shouldn't give too much of a thought about coaster enthusiasts opinions. You already recognised the most important thing about rollercoasters: fun. It doesn't matter that there might be "better" rides as long as you do have fun riding the one you can ride. There are bad coasters and you will recognise them once you have been on them. Mainly coasters that hurt you because they are too rough, and the ones that are based on your personal preference as boring. One criteria is obejctive the other more subjective... (For example on of my favorit coasters is euromir, a rather rough ride, relatively boring ride compared to others i have been on and yet it is one of my alltime favorit. why? because there is more to it then just statistics, the music, the theme =the atmosphere, intensity isn't everything, as in speed isn't everything in cars you should be worried about, you might even find that some rides labled good or great are too much for you => "bad") You dont have to dislike a perfectly fine ride just because other people say there are better rides in their opinion. And to add one of my opinions: europapark was a great choice; you will miss alot of the theming when once you visit other parks...
I rode this last year. For some weird reason I don’t remember much of it 🤔 or being at Europa park period.... the jet lag I had at the time kind of had a weird affect on my memory lol. Though I do remember actually enjoying blue fire 🤷♂️ I remember almost nothing of Wodan and silver star :(
Good review, and solid idea to get spinning cars on it. Actually I was hopping that they will put it on this ride when they tested it. Dont you think that the launch is little bit more forcefull than the younger mac launch coasters (icon, hellix, copperhead strike)?
Did you noticed how close the clearance was before the loop??? a friend of mine try to reach the rock-work above and had his hand slapped on it... not really injured... but still...
I think you got in on a bad day or I got it on a good day. Between this and helix I actually think this one is more forceful. Now I prefer helix because it does so much more but looking at intensity blue fire is easily more intense. I got really good whip on those corkscrews and that final inline twist is absolutely crazy. Now you did make a comment about the mcbr which I did not feel on my blue fire rides, we just rolled through it so that probably is why our opinons differ.
What roller coaster at Europa Park do you like more? Blue Fire or Silver Star. I have never been to that park before, but I think Silver Star looks better to me.
Depends on what you are looking for - I like blue fire much better because B&M Hypers are boring to me - nothing but floater hills. Hardly any snappy transitions, no inversions and all that. I personally really like blue fire, because i like the elements that make you feel weightless (Taylor would complain about lack of force even in a zero-G roll :D ).
AuswahlApfel I know I am replying to this a year later, but which hyper coasters have you ridden? The two I have ridden are Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia and Intimidator at Carowinds and Goliath is actually a pretty good hyper in my opinion. The double helix is pretty forceful and the three back to back airtime hills at the end have a bit of flojector airtime. Intimidator isn’t quite as good and looks a lot more similar in layout to Silver Star than Goliath.
Interesting video Taylor, you even inspired me to make my own review of this ride. Honestly I really enjoy your videos but will we see a Wodan review soon?
I like it a lot, it‘s only about an hour away from my home😄 but I dont have alot of coaster experience, I can only say that i prefer the blue fire over the hollywood rip ride in universal orlando 😁 But i agree sometimes i didnt really notice i went through loops and all lol. Maybe because it goes through with some speed, so its not as exciting as if it juuuust makes it over the apex🤔 Wodan for sure is an impressive construction, but to me this is a pretty rough ride, my neck doesnt particularly like lol
I am also not impressed by blue fire, but it is a GP pleaser. The GP thinks its the most crazy ride ever.
I think it's just overhyped, that's why it's disappointing

“Put the Time Traveler trains on Blue Fire”

They can do it whenever they want bc the MACK family owns the park
Nice to see that you included the spinning thing in your review.

I haven’t had the chance to try any of the other Mack launched coaster, but copperhead strike or Helix look like they learned their lesson from Bluefire.
stumbled upon this(saw it only on release) and i gotta say, blue fire is a gamble, been to EP this year it was running the best I've experienced, the lauch was stronger the inversions were whippier it was so much fun, so i guess this is one of thoose rides that you gotta pray to coaster gods for a good day on it, yes it can be unerwhelming if you catch it in a bad day
Also mack rides is now selling changes to every launch coaster that they can have a spinning car, helix, icon, coperhead can have a spinning car in they want, tested again on blue fire but no change stick, also thoose spining cars just like ride to happiness are free spin with a rotation limit
The second and third inversion is a Twisted Horseshoe Roll
Europa Park is my homepark its one of my favourite coaster becauss blue Fire Was my first coaster with inversions
You completely forgot that Blue Fire is EXTREMELY SMOOTH!!!!!
Taylor you know those inversions after the mcbr is the twisted horseshoe roll.
Dreamworld Australia is adding a blue fire near clone and it has a time traveller cart at the rear end.
Blue Fire is for many times the best launch Coaster in the World.... I like Blue Fire
Thanks for the consistently excellent content you’ve been putting out recently. Please do a Wodan review!
was actually my first launch coaster, so can't really say its boring, I haven't also ridden enough coasters to judge properly
This is SUPER technical but it's more correct to say acceleration as miles/hours*seconds or "miles per hour-seconds." Love your videos Taylor!!
I rode this sunday i rode toward s the front and i for one got plenty of hang time on the first element the loop and the barrel roll.
It looks amazing. I can’t wait to ride it. Nice vid Taylor
Did you see the review?
I wrote it in the last row , since I am 2 meters/6 „4 high , I need the extra space and it’s more forceful there .
They apparently had a different launch installed during testing, but there were complains (mainly about noise?) and it was changed.
I smell an upcoming coaster parody.
Lotte World Magic Forest Busan will have this ride:Good or Bad ride?
i went on this few days ago and idk whats up with it but that launch felt like tarons first launch when i went so thats cool to hear
Blue Fire:
German made coaster in German Themepark.
sits in the Scandinavian themed area.
sponsored by a russian company.
Ähnlich wie Moskau von Dschinghis Kahn
I agree with everything.
I didn't know anything about Europa Park so this looked insane.
Sadly it was indeed rather boring. It's the perfect "extreme" coaster for people that aren't so keen on coasters in general.
Yeah many people in the german coaster community think that blue fire is in the top 3 in germany. I'm in a country full of weird people...😂
Me in the US:
Tons of excellent classic, GCI, GG, RMC creations: exist
USA: El Toro is the best
Me: They could at least re-track it well every once and a while..
@@oneandonlysound3453 Well, many think it's still perfectly smooth. And it's not that easy to reetrack an intamin Woody.
@@oneandonlysound3453 It comes down to how insane the airtime on Toro is. It's the same with Geforce.
I love your channel soo much!! I always wanted to try to make my channel like yours, but then people would say that I'm copying.
The best way to build a following is to do something unique and different! Don't copy what others are doing, because you're exactly right, everyone would say you're copying.
@@CoasterStudios Thanks for replying to this and saying that.
The blue fire custom clone coming to dreamworld is supposedly going to be 65 miles instead of 62
This video pretty much sums up how I feel about 90% or more of anything Intamin has designed, highly acclaimed or on the lower end.
Bro, I'm 40. Wodan gives me a headache. Blue Fire's smoothness is just fine for me :)
I always thought silver star looked more exciting but still want to try both
I had it the other way around. I loved Blue fire but was disappointed by Wodan. I was expecting Wodan to be better than Troy from Toverland but it didn't even get close IMO
I can agree. Xcelerator in Knotts BF was more impressive, just because of that first tall drop.
I now have another blue fire clone in my country, Ive rode it, then I now cant understand why parks clone this model.
I really like the looks of it especially at night. But I agree with the rest you sayed. Btw it seems like it was running very well on your visit 😂😂😂
Just accept his opinion
(For example on of my favorit coasters is euromir, a rather rough ride, relatively boring ride compared to others i have been on and yet it is one of my alltime favorit. why? because there is more to it then just statistics, the music, the theme =the atmosphere, intensity isn't everything, as in speed isn't everything in cars you should be worried about, you might even find that some rides labled good or great are too much for you => "bad")
You dont have to dislike a perfectly fine ride just because other people say there are better rides in their opinion.
Though I do remember actually enjoying blue fire 🤷♂️ I remember almost nothing of Wodan and silver star :(
Somehow I liked it but that's probably just because I wanted to ride this ride for years
It’s my favorite European coaster
Good review, and solid idea to get spinning cars on it. Actually I was hopping that they will put it on this ride when they tested it. Dont you think that the launch is little bit more forcefull than the younger mac launch coasters (icon, hellix, copperhead strike)?
Blue fire still ok me heart cuz it's my first coaster ! But after riding a lot of others, like you said it's not bad but it isn't a very good coaster.
Really wow I love bluefire
Mr. NoRide i’m pretty sure he liked silver star more
Scriblynn_Marrhk4 Based on this review, yeah.
To be fair, his review's not bad but he seems to like Blue Fire a lot more than other people, I guess everyone has their own opinion.
good vid Taylor
I like it a lot, it‘s only about an hour away from my home😄 but I dont have alot of coaster experience, I can only say that i prefer the blue fire over the hollywood rip ride in universal orlando 😁 But i agree sometimes i didnt really notice i went through loops and all lol. Maybe because it goes through with some speed, so its not as exciting as if it juuuust makes it over the apex🤔 Wodan for sure is an impressive construction, but to me this is a pretty rough ride, my neck doesnt particularly like lol
Dreamworld Australia is getting a near mirror image of this apart from the launch system
