Save all of it in climate safe storage totes or boxes. You'll stop feeling this way when they're older, but if you seriously don't want it, shred it or throw it away.
I understand what you saying but they bring it home show you and then throw it around their room and next thing you know it’s trash in their room so no thanks!
I am a retired elementary teacher. I never sent any of those things home with my students at the end of the year. However, I can understand that some kids might need or enjoy something to do during the summer break. Maybe they don't have summer camps or vacations or structure.
It's not a big problem. She is just asking in general and I agree. Let the parents who want it keep it and who don't want it let the teachers shred it.
Some parents do want the pictures and old crayons and such, but I know what you mean about these old text books. The kids beg for them. You would have thought we were asking them to dig ditches every time they had to get those things out all year, but now that school is over they have to have them. They swear they are going to finish all the empty pages over the summer, we know they won't. I usually throw them away, but I have had kids dig that stuff out of the trash. Some of them may be playing school at home, but please tell me what on earth the rest of them are doing with this stuff????
Because we need space for the new group of students. Plus thats parents memory bank to see where their sacrifices been through. We teachers sure don't need it😂😂😂😂😅😅
Unecessary used paper for scribbling cause my kids have special needs and i dont collect everything they bring it home and its not important its thrown into the recycle bin.
This is hilarious! I am a teacher and I sent ALL that stuff home! The kids said they were going to play school this summer! 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Oh naw yea mines not playing school! They did that all year 😂😂😂
Im a teacher…it’s the fastest way to clean out my classroom. And the school doesn’t want to have to recycle all of it. 😂
My wife works as an asst. with S E. They send their's weekly.
Teaching 40 plus years. Parents need to see and follow the progress of what their STUDENTS (not kids) are learning!!! It's theirs!!!!
Exactly!

Because some parents actually care and want the memories.
The kids want it. It's important to them. They worked hard on their projects and couldn't wait to share them with their parents.

My wife works as an asst, and they send it weekly. At the end, they give gift packets to the kiddos only.

My daughter brought 4 folders home with her yesterday! Now I have to burn it all so it doesn't fill up 2 garbage bags 😩

It's to clear out their classroom because it's going to be empty for summer and to give the kids their memories of the school year back
Yea I get this too! But they have garbage cans at the school 😂

I would certainly want it and do little reminder gamesvwith itvso the information stays locked in. Its my childs stuff, why wouldnt i want that
Some parents may get upset if you throw their kid's stuff away. So the teacher protect themselves by just giving it to each student.

You should keep Taylor's book to help the next ones who can learn, and be ahead of the game.
Lol my daughter's teacher cleaned her class closet and sent home a lot of stuff.😂😂
If you do not want it, just throwing it away.
