    Great educational video for beginners to solve problems, it was my first guitar in the 90s....all the best, like 30. Kristian

      Thanks a lot Kristian! Squier makes some great instruments and this one now plays well and stays in tune. I do think it's important for all guitarists to know some basics when it comes to setup. It can really take your inspiration away if the guitar just doesn't sound/play right.

    Love the color! Bridge should be tight for sure.

      Thanks Brian, yes, it's a great color and I really like the maple fingerboard too. I was able to tighten everything up and the guitar plays great now. I did adjust the intonation and truss rod so the tuning stability is right on.

    I'm curious about that loose bridge. Hope it sounds good when you get it going!

      Hi Folkenbluzer, I hope you're doing well!
      Thankfully, it tightened right down... the screws were simply loose. I set the intonation and adjusted the truss rod and now the guitar plays great. Tuning stability is actually really good now. I'll try and put together an update video about it soon.

    Yeah mine was all loose on the turning keys... just like yours.
    My bridge was a little loose.. not as bad as yours.
    Fun guitar to play.
    I like it.
    Mine is from 2020.. second owner.
    Its cool

      Really glad you sorted out the issues. They are fun little guitars actually! I'm returning to youtube after an extended break and will hopefully be posting new videos again soon. I'll do an update on this guitar (my son still plays it now).

    I’m thinking of buying this guitar for my son, curious to see how it’s holding up after a year!

      @hearpalhere  22 дня назад

      Thanks for the question, it's actually playing really well and holding tune too. I'll be posting new videos again after a lengthy absence from youtube. I'll definitely do a video update on this guitar. In the meantime, I would say, go ahead and feel free to buy one for your son. My son is still playing this and we've had no issues with it (after fixing the things shown here).

    Great video! I just wanna ask if the tuning stability improves after tightening the tuning pegs? Hoping to grab one of these soon!

    • @hearpalhere
      @hearpalhere  Год назад

      Apologies for the slow reply. Yes, I was able to completely alleviate the tuning issues with the fixes/adjustments that I discussed in this video.
      My son brings this to and from school in a gig bag and it holds tune remarkably well now. At some point, I'll do a follow up video but have simply been overwhelmed with too many life things.
      Let me know if you get one if you have similar issues!

      I bought one recently and I am glad/ hopeful that these issues could be the root cause of my tuning problems. Which tools should I get to fix this? Also which strings should I place instead? Grtz

    Good video, Pal. A Squier guitar shouldn´t have loose parts like these.

    • @hearpalhere
      @hearpalhere  Год назад

      Thanks Paulo, absolutely not. Luckily, it's an easy fix but I think beginners wouldn't necessarily know to look for these problems.

    That's a new bridge Tremolo feature, You just grab it with two fingers and move it back and forth when you're playing😅

      Haha, that is a perfect way to turn lemons into lemonade! Sorry for replying so late, I'm returning to youtube after an extended absence. I'll be posting videos again soon and will provide an update on this guitar too. It's actually quite fine now, holds tune pretty well.

      @@hearpalhere - I bought a new one, and I put some fender locking tuners on it and through on some 10s, I love it :) My bridge is stoute though. I also got the mini strat for my son, and its nice also.

      @@HiltsyAdventure Upgrading the tuners is a great idea on this... the bones are there for a good guitar.

    Its annoying that companies put guitars out like this that are inevitably headed for the trash unless modified. Its such a waste of time, money and materials. They should put decent tuners and a synth bone nut and just slap and extra $30-50 on the price.

    • @hearpalhere
      @hearpalhere  Год назад +1

      I absolutely agree with you in that a beginner will not be inspired to play something like this and will be more likely to give up at the very start of their journey.

    Seems like this guy just loosed this stuff intentionally to make a bad video. I’ve been playing for 40yrs and I own 6 of these because I am very particular and typically modify my instruments and for years have been looking for an instrument like this and love the Power Players from Epiphone

    • @hearpalhere
      @hearpalhere  22 дня назад

      @KodyBaker00 I'm not sure why you think I would do that. I specifically even say that I bought this used and can't say for sure how it would have gotten into this state. Regardless, I've fixed up the guitar and it now plays pretty well and stays in tune OK too. I'm returning to youtube after an extended absence and will post an update video about this guitar soon.
