George Michael Pulls Out Of Australian Tour

- George Michael has cancelled the Australian leg of his Symphonica tour, revealing to fans that he is battling "major anxiety" after the pneumonia that almost killed him.
Michael, 49, said he was heartbroken to have to cancel the dates, which were postponed last year due to the illness which kept him in an Austrian hospital for a month.
However, the singer appeared reluctant to answer questions about his health from Lucy Cotter ahead of a concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday.
Michael has completed a string of dates across Europe since August. His nine UK dates planned for October will still go ahead.
The Australian tour was due to kick off in Perth on November 10 with concerts planned in Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, finishing at the Hope Estate Winery in Hunter Valley on December 1.
A statement on the singer's website said: "Since last year's illness I have tried in vain to work my way through the trauma that the doctors who saved my life warned me I would experience.
"They recommended complete rest and the type of post traumatic counselling which is available in cases like mine.
"I'm afraid I believed (wrongly) that making music and getting out there to perform for the audiences that bring me such joy would be therapy enough in itself.
"Unfortunately I seriously underestimated how difficult this year would be."
He went on: "Although I was right to believe that the shows would bring me great happiness and that my voice would recover completely (I truly think that some of my recent performances have been my best ever), I was wrong to think I could work my way through the major anxiety that has plagued me since I left Austria last December."
Michael added: "All that's left for me to do is apologise to my wonderful Australian fan base."
He went on to "promise faithfully that as soon as I completed these shows here in the UK I will receive the treatment which is so long overdue".
Michael spent a month in Vienna General Hospital's intensive care unit after being taken ill while on his Symphonica tour there at the end of 2011.
Earlier in September he performed in Vienna, telling the audience it was "good to be alive".
The Faith singer is believed to have given the hospital a thousand tickets for the show.
The near-death experience inspired Michael's single White Light, which he performed at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games.
Fans in Australia will be given full refunds for their tickets, although those with Perth tickets have been offered the chance to se Elton John instead. He will fill Michael's November 10 slot.

I see a normal person that for a moment just wanted to stop the silly interview and walk away. We all, no matter how patient and understanding we are can hit our limit. Just because he walked away does not mean that he was Ill or not feeling well. Every person can lose their cool once in awhile. It is obvious that someone in that group said something very offencive , he certainly did not need to stand around to engage in that. I don't fault him for any of that. He gave every bit of himself to his fans and frankly had the right to stop the interview.

Such an enormously talented man! He was gracious even though uncomfortable and no one can know all he was dealing with. For someone who was honest in explaining the anxiety caused by a long illness and hospitalization, if he was feeling that anxiety while being cornered by a reporter, the need to get away would have been acute and few would have been equally polite. The video literally makes me ache for him.
Poor George. I really feel for him. it's always the same questions in every interview ..yet he managed to handle himself with great composure... it gets tired quick hearing the same thing over and over . Most took advantage because he was so honest and open when he spoke but there is a breaking point ! it was obvious from the beginning he was agitated. Especially when your dealing with your own personal battles... that would make anyone angry. he handled it great . most wouldn't be so kind. I 💜 U George.

He did not curse or hit them, he just simply walked away because he was insulted. If you can’t hear it, listen very closely to the people behind the cameraman. I know, in all my 29 years of following him, I've never seen him act that way. I sincerely hope he's okay. Even though you can tell he totally frustrated, he still basically keeps his cool and doesn't get rude.

That was so out of character for George, I didn't expect to see him do that,, he defiantly was not well if he reacted like that because that's not his normal self.. George was doing better already and performing very well, just the pressure of touring never suited him at all. He always seemed to get really homesick poor sweetheart. And he was so extremely tired of all these stupid tabloid press journalists who never seemed to ask him anything interesting and intelligent. One can really see that he hasn't got the nerve for this anymore. He's trying to avoid eye contact and seems not really interested to answer any meaningless question. And when some other dumb tabloid trash reporter mutters something quite out of line, he loses it and gets annoyed. That's why he is choosing to get out of there immediately, but having always been a patient gentleman in public, he's still extremely polite and handles the situation like a true professional. Every morning I wake up with pain in my heart, My soul hurts, it's so intense that it's feels like collapsing. I have never in my life felt such grief for anyone else so extensively, not even for family members passing. This time the grief is for someone I didn't even know personally. After George's passing was announced it didn't feel real to me, but I didn't get the tragic news out of my mind. Something or someone told me in my mind that I had to go to George's home in Highgate to see the tributes and just be there. I had never been to his home before. So about a month after Christmas I went on my way and found George's home straight away... I can not reveal here what happened there to me but ever since that time I have learned so much about him, always feeling the need to protect him like there is a soul connection.
The truth has never been told by the media and I agree it needs to be said what really happened. I am truly saddened that the public has been lied to about this. George Michael had and still has a huge following. Why can't they know? 😢

So he’s 49. Started out at 18 with Wham. Many Wham fans on comment sections say they all knew he was gay. Plus anyone close to George by the time he had his first real partner who died in 93-94 , think 93. Including his parents, family etc knew he was gay.
But according to the media, he was outed in 98 by his arrest.

14 years later, but really way longer, why is this journalist bringing up anything in questions that revolves around his sexuality?
To f’k with his mind, get him to react, irritate him, make him relive it, in order to keep the narrative going that it was always all him not the industry! To remind him, we are still right here. Was said to be irritated and irrational , as shown in this clip, when media and celebrity magazines were just trying to interview the mega star who was previous hospitalized and almost died with pneumonia.
The star is known for his battles with depression. Which stemmed from the death of his first partner, OF AIDS, the death of his mother and depression led to a case with Sony , that he lost and was ordered to pay $3 Million in court cost!
This eventually led to his first encounter of many with police , with his arrest for leud behavior in a 1998 which forced him to finally speak the truth about his sexuality which he hid from the public and his fans for years. He has had numerous bouts with police since that time , due to his drug addiction and alcohol abuse, stemming from the death of his mother and first love!
See how that works.
Everything was George’s fault because he is weak, suffers from depression yadda yadda ! Its really worse then that what was done to him because very well know supposed “ good friends” fellow musicians, joined in and started bashing him publicly after he released some albums.
