I do the same thing with the sound tests. I’ll be jamming out to power ranger tracks in the menu while all my friends are not as amused and like let’s play.
I spent many summer nights playing the SNES version with a friend. We played all of the big fighting games of that time, but Killer Instinct always felt like something special. Like it was the perfect game to be playing at 2am when your dad wakes up to yell at you to go to sleep. If that makes any sense.
I love KI... Such a cool series of games. If anyone out there watching this video and wants to play KI but is on the fence, you should give it a shot. 2013 still has an active playerbase and is a ton of fun to learn. Great video btw, I learned a couple of things I didnt know about its history.
SNES' KI uses exactly the same music as KI arcade. It is just adapted to its hardware and available memory for it. It does not have anything new. But music for CD was recorded in a professional studio. That is why it is remixed and has some new tracks. Also a new Thunder track from CD was adapted for GB's KI Thunder stage.
@@BlueGarysYes, there was a second game. The second game was released in the arcade in 1996, and was later ported to the Nintendo 64 under the name Killer Instinct Gold.
i have spent tons of money on that game, We had Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter Not sure which version, all at out arcade in the bowling alley
Couple things missed in your mechanics section. Just wanted to pass the info on, for learning! Cheers Combo breakers: when you use a linker, the opponent can break with any strength. So it's never recommended to use then unless they are already dead. Shadow moves: you have to negative edge( hold the button, do the special move motion, then release the button), except for combo enders. Air combos: you missed this mechanic. Air to air jump attack comboed into a special move in the air, and can be followed up with a juggle. Tbf, this mechanic works like crap on arcade, but is powerful on snes. You perform by hitting you opponent mid jump with your own jump attack and immediately cancel by pressing, forward, back+p or k, depending on character. The strength uses same rules as breakers. If you attack with a heavy attack, you do the air special with medium. Or medium into light, or light into heavy. There's also many moves that cannot be broken, which lead to tons of unbreakable combos, which was the way to play
Do you think Killer Instinct 2013 is more or less complex than the original game?
I think its more complex
It's way more complex. I like some of the changes. I
Overall I feel like they added to much to it.
@GolgaGoose yeah i agree
I played the Xbox one when it came out. It wasn't for me.

It's an easy game to lose the time with. The matches are so quick that you just want to keep playing 1 more.
This is so incredibly detailed and well-researched! You definitely deserve more views for this!
I still have this game on the SNES. I was an absolute GOD at this game! None of my friends wanted to play me.
This video will hit at least a million views minimum within 2 years. If not more views faster. Its great well done
I'm pray'n I'm pray'n lol
Yeah this one was great!

If we can get enough people they'll do a side event at Evo.
I've never understood fighting games. And now I know why.
Omg this game is so much lol
It's not remixed versions of the background music. It is the background music. At least for the arcade. Some were changed for the SNES.

this turned out to be more complex than i thought, i was just smashing buttons.
It's a game where it feels good to mash buttons. It's so crazy how many systems these games have.
I fell in love with the first Killer Instinct and then never hardly played the second game.
I didn't even remember there was a second game

Killer instinct was the coolest game I ever saw when I saw it for the first time
For 2013's KI, I really wish they would have given spinal his ender from KI 1 where he shape-shifts into the opponent. That would have been so cool
I know, that was my favorite thing about him
i have spent tons of money on that game, We had Killer Instinct, Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter Not sure which version, all at out arcade in the bowling alley
I also used to listen to the bgm in old games
Honestly i remember it as a arcade game it was yrs until it came out on consol for this 80s baby......

Diddy konky donky donky
In the X BOX version Riptor looks like Talon from Primal Rage. I like the original character design better. Because Talon belongs in Primal Rage.😂
you're right lol
KI2 RIP Riptor
😎👍👍
First
at 22 seconds lol, I think that's a record
@calic737 yeah stream notifications are fast
These style vids are my kyptonite. I can't NOT watch them. Even if I have heard many tales of Rare before. 😂
breaks my heart that the xb1 version came with KI and KI2 but the pc port doesn't :(
Mate I was a late nearly 20 when the original came out on the arcade. The new generation versions is crap, just my og opinion.
