A way in which this is different from j&a is that, because Geoff is their intern, they can immediately tell when he's not doing his job, as they decide what his job is. Whereas in j&a Jake never really knew what Amir's job was, so there was a different kind of frustration there.
Yeah good call. and its also now two straight men + one funny man, which is dope I feel like because Geoffrey's funny man gets to be more of an incoherent 'village idiot' as it might be on The Office or Family Guy; similar tone since they're still the writers but nevertheless subtly different to Amir's old character.

We did know what his job was. He and Jake were writers for College Humor, just like in real life. There even were many videos on which they were at the writers table, or auditioning for sketches they wrote, same for the finale.

Finally. These are better than off days. I would however like to see each of them bi-weekly as to not let them get stale.
Off days are better because they remind me of jake and amir. These are fine but it just seems like they swapped amir's college humor persona with Geoffrey. Which is fine, I actually like the guy a lot. But there is no substitute for the original thing.

This vids awesome! I love it when Jeff's lines aren't as developed as Jake and Amirs. That creates a better contrast between the characters, really developing Jeff as his own character rather than making him a reflection of Jake/Amir. I say, keep Jeff's lines short and not overly developed in its grammatical content, so he doesn't just turn into another Amir, who is dumb but has an extensive vocab. But idk maybe that's what u guys are going for. Love your vids either way! U guys r awesome dude 😜

That's certainly the best Geoffrey the Dumbass episode so far, although Jants was also really good, but this just has so many great moments :D
I like to think that Geoffrey the dumbass and off days take place in separate alternate universes, so it makes sense why some characters act insane in one show but normal in the other. I’ve always thought the same way about Jake and Amir and hardly working as well.

It's funny, because they clearly didn't need him there for recording the podcast. They knew what he was doing better than him.

This is their first legitimately funny skit so far on HeadGum. The writing was so much better, and Geoffrey didn't have too many lines thank god. I can't wait to see how this evolves and I know Jake and Amir will do great. Much love to you guys, also thank you so much for taking out the "you're a dumbass" ending.

I listen to CBB and you're not right. This is a much more hostile interaction, and also geoff doesn't understand what he's doing. Gino knows, but just wont shut up. It's like saying Titanic and Jaws are the same thing because they take place in an ocean.

In a way i do, but since both show are character driven i think it's OK to share a scenario. The characters and their interactions are the main driving force behind the show and the comedy in both situations, and therefore i think it's fine to, as long as the characters themselves are seperated, to share the theme of the gag. I do believe that most comedy overlaps like this, and i think in most instances, though certainly not all, it's OK. I see how this is a very close idea to CBB, but the running joke of Geoffry/Gino and the lack of similarity bewteen the two justifies this in my oppinion.
