    The bow lines on Monara, if properly secured, should prevent it being pushed onto the dock. Nothing wrong from BACA here.

    The passarrell on the Monara is not designed to work upwards. It should be more than 6 inches above the dock level. I don't see any agressive manouver from Baca.

    It's all Monara's own fault. The groundlines weren't secure enough, and the pasterelle shouldn't be out when not in use. Only one female crew, steward probably not a deckhand as she came running from inside, to handle it.

    I imagine the parelsell was so close to the dock was because the guests or owners look very old, so probably didn't want to have to walk on it a long way.

    Looks like th MY Baca has 360deg rotatable thrusters pods for main proulsion, much like a tractor tug. They are great for precision manouvering, but the problem is that when you want "neutral force" you put them 90deg out to port and starboard respectively. This can be seen clearly in the clip. Aggrevating factor is that when you want faster response you increase the revs a bit, and this causes a lot of prop wash out to either side of the vessel. Not a factor if you are a harbour tug but a real problem if you try to dock next to a mega yacht. Also not great if you try to pick up ground lines. This skipper need to stop manouvering like a tug captain and either go in and out of gear (it was flat calm!) or find another "neutral" pod position such as "one side ahead and one side astern"

    I do NOT see this as aggressive at all. It appears the damaged boat was too close to the dock or improperly moored to secure the boat.

    Baca
    He has high potential and an equipped yacht!!! The port is not loaded! All this data was not used professionally, I do not know why.The small yacht I see its owners are old, do not blame them. But they could pull out three meters of cuttlefish in the foreground and relax the equivalent of that in the background while Baca entered

    The classic vessel stb of Baca is far too close to the dock - my guess is, that the extension of the gangway does not work and they had no other choice. Although Baca is using thrusters extensively, it is not their fault.

    Isn't the BACA the same boat that has been recently accused of threatening to run into a much smaller sailing vessel? Perhaps they need a new captain.

    The good old Lady on M/S Monaco is too close to berth. You need keep more distance if you have a bullshit stern.

    Again when in doubt throttle back . There's no need for the amount of prop wash created by the Baca's "Captain

    • @gertjanvandulmen8154
      @gertjanvandulmen8154 9 месяцев назад +1

      Well spoken. There is indeed no need for this amount of propwash/power to just stay in position. There is no wind or current. And no way you can stay moored like this in position while Baca is parking next to you without using steel cables and tugboat winches. I suspect that the captain of the Baca is an adolescent show-off.

    Bowlines on that classic yacht were not tightened up. You can actually see the bow moving when Baca used the thrusters. Also don't understand why the classic yacht was so close to the shore when their passerelle can extend easily to 3 mtrs.
    As for Baca ? Although he should be able to use his thrusters, the captain should have shown more seamanship. As soon as he was informed of the damage to the classic yacht he should have decided to wait. Allow the classic yacht to tighten up the bow lines and get more distance from the shore and then come in for his own docking. Of course you can claim this damage is not your mistake, but there is also no reason to cause damage to a boat when it can be avoided. Just use your brains a little bit and things will work out better for everyone.
