- The WORST PUB GRUB we have EVER REVIEWED! We asked for our MONEY BACK and WALKED OUT! SHAME on YOU! This was once a Wetherspoons and it has been taken over by another company, a company that makes Wetherspoons look Michelin Star.Abysmal food and Appalling Service!
Plus!! To get our refund we had to give our phone number and email address.

When a restaurant is nearly empty at lunchtime it's a very bad sign. When they've run out of basic items before lunch that says they weren't expecting any/many people to turn up, and they're trying to save money on inventory. You can bet they're understaffed too.

Taking for ever when the place is empty is really bad for a new chain.
Perhaps you should have shown us the hygiene rating stars. They should be visible at eating / takeaway establishments.
I wouldn't have waited that long for a microwaved pie, cold gravy and a few chips and the place was grotty.
Microwave RUBBISH why can't these pubs serve home made food, no wonder no one was in there with that rubbish food shocking
That pie looked like it was cooked on a radiator (not a hot one at that) Any food establishment that cooks pies in a microwave should be closed down. 🤢

Before the Regency was a Weather Spoons it was owen by a butcher , every steak regardless of size was at least 1 inch thick , I used to go there three times a week best meals I ever had .
Unfortunately he went bust 😂 .

I would've demanded a refund for waiting too long before the food finally arrived. I'm surprised you've been served a wrong piie Lee and that pie looked soggy. Oh well, glad you got your refund. Onwards my friends!

The company Incorporated in February 2024 after the previous company had been dissolved in March 2023. If this is how they are going to run the company it could well also be dissolved soon.
Good news is that I enjoyed the video!
How can they get away with describing that muck as food? They should be done under the trade descriptions act, and that my friends is why I never eat a these sort of places.

Terrible shame. Probably good when it was wetherspoons. As for sticky tables, that's quite common in many places. Sure it's because they just spray a cleaner over the table, but do not wipe it down thoroughly. Just a quick wipe. Two in a row with sticky tables.
So many negative comments! However...the beautiful Ange made this a great video! We need her to feature more often!

"Running out of food" reminds me of a local pub which couldn't do food because the cook was late in to work, and the owner was on holiday.....it's closed now

Come the wintertime this place will close do some refreshments put a new menu in then go and review as probably just using Witherspoons food, if it doesn't it has NO CHANCE

I don't want to be mean but! I've had a lot of crappy food in the UK (a few times I've had good steak, Indian food,) but mostly crappy even at British restaurants in Spain, Why can't the UK raise the quality!.
Totally agree with you, there is absolutely nothing intrinsically wrong with British food, it's the way it's it prepared and cooked quality issues aside.
British people will accept and eat crap so consequently they get served crap. If a lot of resturants served up the same quality stuff in France or Spain they would be out of buisness in a week.

Interesting, I've been to this place once when it was a Wetherspoons two or three years ago and it was what you'd expect from a Spoons. I didn't know it had changed hands and I wouldn't bother going again now. I have also been once to the Widow Frost in Mansfield since it ceased being a Spoons and it was nothing to shout about so won't be going there again either. I've never heard of the No.1 Pub Co, but neither of these pubs are good adverts for it. Avoid I'd say and I'm glad you asked for a refund.
Agreed. It's good to see a YT food reviewer that says, "NO, I'm not paying for this crap!"
It's a difficult one when you get poor service.
I've had it at places where I eat regularly.
Regularly because the service and food are usually superb.
But even they can have an iffy night!
The mark of a good place is admitting they got it wrong and making good, to the customers satisfaction, in whatever form that takes.

Miss Spoons in Kirkby - It had faults but it was just a much more affordable and convenient place to go with friends.

Perhaps they just using up the stuff left behind by Wetherspoons in the freezers, lol. There 's been a lot of talk about dine and dash eaters not paying down our way, just dash in that place I would think! Comedy skit at the beginning should have been the outro!

Hi Lee, my uncle and Auntie used to keep the pub over the road, The Nags Head back in the mid 60s, it was truly banging back in those days with one of the first Discotheques of the day Saturday night was packed every week.

They're extracting the urine Lee... Can you imagine if you have certain dietary requirements for either allergies or for religious reasons... And you're expecting a Chicken & Mushroom Pie... And this place is serving you a Steak & Kidney Pie... The time taken to prepare and serve the food was completely unacceptable... And when it finally arrived... The order was wrong... And it was stone cold... Just because they wasted your time guys... They should've at least given you the drinks you both had for free... I used to work in a pub... So i know exactly what it costs them for a mixer box of Pepsi Syrup... And what they charge their customers for a glass of Pepsi... It has an incredible mark-up profit margin... So it would literally have cost them next to nothing to comp your drinks Lee... This place is dirty and quite disgusting... And we all now know why they have such depleted food stocks here too Lee... And also why it's so empty in there at lunchtime... That should tell you all you need to know my friend... But at least you got yourself a refund for both meals pal... Cheers Lee. 🍺

It is awful, to say it's the same staff as when it was Wetherspoons. We'd go quite regularly then but we've been once since it's changed hands and we're in no rush to go back.

Many years ago there was a canned dog food company called Rival. That pie looked exactly like whatever it was in those cans.
That food looked awful & if it had been warmed in a microwave, looked up the owners and it is just one person not a large company Just Mr Singh, looks like company was only started in February 2024.
In Wetherspoons only thing they cook is the eggs, everything else is pre-prepared so you are correct, they just warm it up.
That's early lunch , ran out of food ! The sticky tables sound wonderful , full of chrachter [sic ]

I would be very upset if I ordered chicken and mushroom pie and they brought steak and kidney as, if I had eaten any without noticing, I would have been very ill as I am allergic to kidney.
The sticky tables would have been a massive red flag for eating there.

Hi Lee... I always feel hungry when I watch your food reviews, So tonight I ordered a takeaway Schnitzel from my local, so I can sit down and eat it with you.. what a let down!. My chicken Schnitzel was great. (and hot) gravy was nice, chips and vegetables were excellent. (Au$20) 9 out of 10 😅😅😅 disappointed for you both.. what a bummer.

I went to a pub once outside my college and many years ago and we ordered food and me and my mum where the only ones on there and we waited an hour after ordering and it was the chefs fault they apologized and they said the chefs where in big prep work at the back and forgot about the order on the printer they did not hear it i hope i dont have that situation again
I stopped going to my local chippy because they keep having there focus on the regular people and put our order right at the bottom of the pile and they made a mistake with my Donner kebab when I did not want salad in and they ended putting salad in
Well it was a disco for a while. You never get the sticky goo out of the carpet or off the windows and tables.

Tesco? More like Aldi? Not that there's owt wrong with Aldi... their 'specially selected' pies are delicious, as are most of their steaks.

Went there the week it re-opened. Long wait for mediocre food and it cost about 25% more that the same (better quality) meal when it was a Spoons. I heard the staff saying they'd "ran out of chicken".... it was only 12:30! I hope they see this video.

What a lovely man at the start of the video and then it all went wrong, the food looked cold and to wait that long for it, what a joke!
Wetherspoons is selling off a lot of loss making pubs and this was probably why they sold this. I doubt it will be in business much longer. Good video though.
