    I felt the ending was Ori's journey coming full circle. Starting as a guardian spirit to restore Nibel's spirit tree, it ends with her becoming the new spirit tree for the realm of Niwen. And yes, the game is thought provoking and explores many themes such as grief, loss, acceptance and the passing of the torch. There's still potential for new stories set in this world, but Ori's journey is over. I actually felt Moon was pretty brave to end the franchise with a beautiful send-off instead of churning out more sequels with possibly diminishing returns.
    Shriek is in many ways a parallel for Kuro in the sense they're both tragic antagonists in the form of giant owls. But there's also a world of difference. Kuro's antagonism towards Ori had some basis, as she lost her hatchlings because of the Nibel spirit tree's pulse searching for Ori. Shriek is a victim of her own circumstances and Ori played no part in her misery. She wasn't able to rise above when given a chance at a redemption arc, choosing instead to die in the one bit of comfort she knew.

    If you watch the end credits you can see some hints of what happened after Ori's transformation. Between the credits there is artwork that, for example, shows Grom taking care of the moki, Kii and Tuley together AND surprisingly two white spirits with the moki. These spirits might be Ori's spawn but I guess there is the possibility of them being from Nibel.
    But if someone missed the end credits go see them! The music and artwork is beautiful!

    After the last of us 2, I will always stand by the notion that a well told story should not continue unless there’s truly something more that needs to be said. As much as I’d love another ori game, I’d rather they leave it on a high note. Beautiful game, a beautiful work of art.

      I definitely agree. Although how much i think that wotw could have been longer or we could have gotten a 3rd game just to have more dopamine inducing platforming and more time to Ori to bond with Ku and have some gameplay so i can finally stop craving this game (just imagine how good it would be to solve some coop puzzle with our best owl Buddy)
      I think ending is very satisfying and it feels like a nice place to stop. Their story is pretty much over and should be left alone imo

    only thing u missed it , Ori became the new spirit tree we don't know what kind of tree but maybe the same species as his father the Spirit Tree of Nibel, cause the Ori Spirit Tree doesnt resemble a willow at all.

    I thought it would be amazing to have a sequel where ori the spirit tree births spirit triplets who have to go on some epic quest to help the spirit tree, and you can switch between the 3 spirits who look like the concept art for oris design, and during boss fights you can co-op with a second player if you want. I just think there's so much potential in this world for more stories to be told

      A very old game called fury of the fuzzies had a mechanic like that.
      3 creatures with different abilities you could switch between to solve the levels. Sometimes they had to split off because only one could swim etc.
      Three vikings did something like this to.

    As for the flaws they are rather minor in the grand scheme of things. The game was blemished by a number of bugs when it came out, but I played it just last weekend and most of those issues have already been fixed. I had an almost bug free experience. The bugs are fixed in time and what is left is near perfection.

    I wish The Will of the Wisp was the 3rd game while in a second game ori meets other Spirits with them being more of a Light Blue instead of white like Ori and them having Round Mouse-looking ears. I'd call them Mere Spirit's and you can switch between characters as they join Ori on their adventure.
    At the ending of the 3rd game the Mere Spirit's become smaller spirit trees and they grow around Ori, they help Ori protect the land of Niwen and they keep each other company as Trees.

    I was hoping for a little more to be done with Shriek than her (it?) dying in her parents' arms. I think I was more emotionally invested in Shriek than I was in the Owlette.

    Ori's Story is over ... from birth to them becoming a New Spirit Tree we followed the journey of that Spirit.
    New Stories of a new Spirit could be told; but i doubt it. Because the Worldbuilding is conpleted: Spirit Trees as Guardians of a region. The dying of a tree allows Decay (that ominous force of Nature) to spread and corrupt (like poor Shriek) so a new tree needs to emerge, a spirit needs to be combined with the Light to Reverse Effects of Decay.
    Currently i cant imagine new elements to be introduced ... but i would be open for that :)

    Damn these games are good. I honestly could give a shit about the story and find cutscenes in video games to be extremely annoying but the game play is smooth, fluid and addictive. I've played both through to the end and replayed Bind Forest on hard mode and 100% it. Now I want to play them both again. I sincerely hope they make a 3rd game, I will buy it day 1.

    In my opinion the will of the wisps is better than blind forest in every single way and that's saying something considering the fact that BF is a master piece, it set the bar way too high. I didn't think they ware gonna be able to top that but they did. I feel like ori and the will of the wisps wraps everything up in the most beautiful way, as much as I would love to get more games I think we don't need more.

    While I prefer the story of the Blind Forest, Will of the Wisps was a phenomenal sequel, and was more enjoyable gameplay-wise. The art direction and graphics for both games were breathtaking, you could take a screenshot from any moment throughout the games and make them into wallpaper, Gareth Coker's score goes without saying (I'm certain he'll do Halo: Infinite justice. I don't plan on playing the game, but the soundtrack will be a must), the world of Nibel and Niwen were imaginative and original, and both stories were emotional rollercoasters that make me sob my eyes out just by thinking about them. I hope Moon Studios will return to this world one day, maybe make a spin-off set in the same universe or so since Ori's story is over.

    I just don't understand how Seir thought going back to the Willow would help? Wasn't it because the Willow was dying that Seir got lost in the first place or did I miss something?

    • @vanngocthien
      @vanngocthien 3 года назад +4

      Well the light here belongs to the Willow, so maybe Seir doesn't know about her death or that she is trying in vain to help the Willow but it didn't work.

    • @thelifesampler
      @thelifesampler 2 года назад +1

      @@vanngocthien I thought the same once but I guess Seir only revived the Willow to see her once last time and also cause it wanted the willow to explain him what would happen and give him confidence to take the task of being the new tree of life and subsequently to one who helped the land of Niwen not to fall into the decay.

    Without the light they could not make the full transformation and lost their sentience.
