ive been on methadone since November 2 2017. I got my weekend take home about a month ago and this week when I go Monday, I'll start getting a take home for Tuesday. to some it may not be a big deal but to me it's everything. keep doing what you're doing. I love your vlogs.

Yes I was so happy when I finally made it to where I only had to come in once a week with six take homes!!! So happy
By the time I was taking most home I wanted to start reducing my dose and they refused and just kept upping and upping my dose and realized they didn't want me to get better!!! I started saving as much as I could for about three months and had a 20oz water bottle full at home and still tried to get them to reduce my dose but they refused lol well took me 5-6 months to taper on my own because they wouldn't help me do it with their assistance so I had to do it all on my own

I’m in Ontario Toronto area. The government covers mine. I have full carries now and have been clean for over 3 years. I’m now starting to come down.
This is my second time on the program and let me tell you I DID successfully come off methadone the first time I stayed clean for almost a year, I started using again hanging around the wrong people. Here I am again second time methadone saved my ass probably saved my life.

I thought what you did helping that woman out was really nice of you , and your right missing 2 days is rough so if they wouldn't medicate her because she was short she would have had a bad Weekend so you saved her from misery "YOU GO GIRL" !!!!!

Same here, Im in Ireland and feel so sorry you have to pay for a medication which is a basic treatment by WHO. It doesn,t matter if you are employed, self employed or unemployed, if you have never ever had a job, nobody tell you to go to work bc others will pay your medication and such a shame etc. In Europe is free. In EU Countries for sure. And no nobody give a flying f.. if u have a job or not.

You are a wonderful person! My man is losing his insurance august 31st, he's had medical assistance since he's been on methadone. He apparently "makes too much money by making 16 an hour" the state bases it of your gross pay.. before taxes get taken out, the don't factor in bills, rent or anything at all. At our clinic it's $85 a week or $340 a month and I think you save $20 so it's $320 per month. It only takes State insurance or cash nothing in between. He's the only one able to work so adding a over $300 bill a month is going to be hard. If u can't pay they put on a "administrative detox which means it's strictly financial reasons why they drop your dose so fast and so much the doctors nor counselors or nurses have any say about it. It's crazy because my man has been trying to come down on his dose and his counselor is trying to convince him that he's going down too fast buy only going down 2mg every other week. he's in the triple digits on his dose so we'll see how different his counselor acts about saying not to go down "that fast" once they find out that he is now a self-pay patient and that he might not be able to afford. We'll see if they have that same energy. That is when the ugly truth comes out.

I live in Seattle Washington and I do have insurance and it covers it completely. Everyone that goes to that specific clinic has insurance but if you aren't covered by insurance their is a certain clinic that people have to go to that costs approximately $450.00 a month. Thank God I have insurance because there is no way in God's green earth that I could EVER afford it ! There are about 1000 clients at my clinic And they're excepting 10 more each week. We have colors we are assigned to. I'm red, meening I can dose between 6:30-8:45 am sometimes there is a 30 min wait and sometime s you just walk in and out depending on what time I show up. If I show up at 7:00 I just walk right in. There are 4 different time slots and they're open till 12:00 pm. I'm rambling, I came to the comment section to tell you what a sweetheart you are for helping that girl out..🤗💖💜🧡💙💚🖤

You are such a beautiful and amazing person. I’m on methadone and my clinic is much more lax than yours. At mine if you don’t have your money than you just don’t get your take homes. You can still get your Sunday dose but you can’t get your weekly doses If that makes sense. But that was very sweet of you for helping a fellow addict. God bless

I’ve been going to the clinic for about a year now and only have to go twice a week now but man, I was so happy to finally get my Saturday n Sunday take homes! Looking good! Keep up the good work
I probably won’t ever get to level up so I’ll probably have to go 6 days a week for as long as I’m there. The first reason is because I smoke weed so obviously that’s on all of my drug screens. I am working on quitting smoking though. Also, I’m not sure the exact reason why, but at the clinic I go to if you decrease your dose they take your levels. I’ve been doing decreases. Not on any exact schedule, but usually not more often then one every two weeks. But if you’re a higher level and get more than your one take home a week and ask to decrease your dose, they will only let you if you agree to go back to a level one and start over. So for every decrease I did I would get dropped back down to a level one even if I wasn’t smoking weed. I really would like to get a better understanding of why that’s the policy in place. Grant Knight Grant Knight Same lol. My ultimate goal is to become a peer Support Specialist. But in order to do that I have to be clean for a year. Being on the methadone counts as being clean because it is a treatment program. But I can’t have weed in my system for a year. So I am trying to eventually quit so that I can eventually become a PSP. But it’s hard. Between my anxiety & ptsd when I’m not smoking I’m struggling a little. But hopefully I’ll get there eventually. Trying not to beat myself up about it too much. Ashley Anonymous Being a BSN, RN with 17 years experience, trust me when I say, you people are being duped in the biggest way and by your comments, it's working. Methadone is no way meant to be used long term for addiction. They convince you of that to make money. They even have the balls to convince people that they are considered "clean" when the only drug they use is methadone. Do you know why rehabs won't take methadone addicts? Because it's one of the most dangerous drugs to detox from. It causes massive sezuires. Do you think rational thinking people would line up at 5am in 30 degree weather to get medication that only destroys their bodies? Yet, clinics convince people they are well enough to mentor others. Don't believe a word they say. Get to a real doctor who will decrease your dose safely until you come all the way off. I have given this drug in controlled settings and my patients wouldn't even know when we stopped giving it. When used short term correctly, methadone can be effective for getting people off drugs however, used long term with dose increases, you are only changing one drug for another. Also, you mention using weed for anxiety. Did the clinic tell you how many people are cured from anxiety once off methadone? I bet not. If you have the desire to help others please follow that but do it right. If you need a drug to function, your addicted. If you panic or withdrawal without it, your addicted. Don't let them lie to you by pointing out the fact you are no longer getting high from drugs on the street. That doesn't change the fact your life is still being controlled by drugs. When they tell you addiction is a disease like depression, that needs treated with methadone forever, it's a LIE. Being an insider, I know all the lies and tricks on both sides. Clinics want money. Most on methadone want to get high. They lie to get higher doses, they still look for benzos on the street, they steal for money as many of them don't work and they swap urine with others to pass drug screens. If you want to be clean for good and help others, taper off all the way so you will not crave or get sick and your willingness to stay sober will keep you off drugs. Millions do it without methadone because they want to. Methadone kills your liver, kidneys, looks, and brain chemistry when used long term. I know so many people who died from this crap.

I was on methadone for 10 years? It was ok when I first started, but after a while I realized they were just taking my money. That shit is poison, the hair on my legs fell off, I slept all the time, I craved junk food constantly, I would sweat all the time, and if I was sitting still for a little while I would violently jump like someone startled me. Anyway, I got on Suboxone and it is so much better. I actually feel some what normal. I don't feel sedated all of the time. But, everyone is different, so keep fighting the good fight.

You can tell you're a really good person.. you have a good heart. I've been off of methadone now for 7 years. It is possible even though you feel trapped. I remember that feeling and I remember terrified constantly of missing my dose or paying etc. being a slave to the clinic. I did it completely wrong in a bad way but I did it. I rapid detoxed 5mg a day from 100mg and I have an extremely fast metabolism so by the time I hit around 30mg I was sick. So by day 3-4 I couldn't even stand. Day 5-6 I started hallucinating. Couldn't keep any food or liquid down so I ended up in the hospital for 5 weeks. Kidney failure. I honestly can't remember the first 3-4 weeks in the hospital but I got out and was still sick for a month so I took suboxone. It becomes just another addiction and you're once again a slave. I properly weened from that though and did fine.. We had 3 more kids since then and doing amazing. I hope you're doing well and I hope someday you realize you CAN stop methadone.. It's possible. Taper properly and take your time but don't end up being a slave for too long.
Wow that's the way to describe the withdrawal from methadone the hallucinations in your head are really intense and really in your face but glad you got threw the hell of it all and you have 3 kids for a reward lol

Man in Georgia everyone is self pay. Even if you have insurance it doesn't cover it. Dosing price is $12.50 a day. Used to be $13.00 but thankfully it came down. And I do it too, I help people who might be short on cash. And I feel the same way about hoping if I ever needed someone to help me I hope they would.

Methadone saved my life and I'm glad it is here to help us but man the clinic was such a pain! I worked 70+ hours a week and would usually get there very early within the first hour of them opening and would still take an hour or more sometimes and if i had to piss test i could be there two hours lol the clinic sucks
The only person that seemed concerned about me way my therapist at the clinic! She wasn't as demanding as the doctors because they flat out told me I'm going to be on this for the rest of my life. My Therapist thought I needed more time but probably could come off after more time! Lol they want to up and up and up my dose but miss one payment and see how much they care about you then!!! Nothing for you

That's crazy they don't except different insurances... thankfully Michigan all health insurance is acceptable... However there was a time when it wasn't..and it cost my husband about 320.00 a month..we couldn't afford both of us...I was extremely happy when one did open in our area that opened up and accept everyone...
I have to go to counseling once a month and our clinic makes you also go to group it's suppose to be like a N.A. Meeting but it's nothing like it....but if your dirty you must go to group weekly and counseling weekly..along with urine test also weekly...
But since I've never had a dirty..I only drop once a month.. I only go to the clinics 2 times a month .. counseling once a month and group once a month..and I'm on a 175mg...

Why do you have to go there and get a dose daily? When I was on methadone my Dr gave me an RX and I got it filled for the month.

Diane Bays Ohh okay no definitely not then. This clinic is privately owned. I’ve actually met the owner, she was the director of another clinic, but she thought I was a shitty place. So she quit, waited out her non compete agreement, and opened her own. I think she’s a total badass lol.

Mine is 18 a day. Stop complaining you would be spending triple or quadruple on dope. I never complain just for that reason. 60 a day or 18 a day? Yep I'm not complaining.

One more thing, years ago when I was in the Methadone Clinic back home in MARTINSBURG West Virginia they wanted everyone's information about insurance etc because they said that they were trying to get the state to pay or help pay for it, and I am in the Methadone Clinic now in Georgia and they got my insurance information over a year ago saying that same shit and I am disabled and I have Medicare insurance and only get so much money every month and I wish that they would pay some of the money, I pay every 2 weeks and it's cheaper that way here, I pay $148 so almost $300 a month but anyways I wish everyone who is struggling with addiction the best with everything because the struggle is definitely real my friends.

Jean Moore I’m in North Carolina. They do both the red and clear liquids and the wafers at the clinics here. I use the clear liquid. I don’t like the wafers and the red liquid is supposed to be “cherry.” But there’s a ton of sugar in it and my teeth are shit & it gave me headaches, so I switched to the clear and have been on that for I think around 9-10 months now.
Jean Moore Oh and what’s crazy is that if you get pulled over or searched and they find your methadone bottle on you, even though it has your name on it & it’s a prescription, if it’s not in the box (& the box HAS TO be locked) they can charge you with possession. It’s ridiculous.

Methadone was the biggest mistake of my life. They only want money and could give 2 shits about any of the clients cause they just assume everyone is the same and doomed to just be on it forever. Not me! Fuck getting up everyday and going downtown just to feel normal. You won't think methadone is so great when you start tapering and get to a low dose. Wouldn't you rather have a new car for that 12 dollars a day? People have no problem paying that because it gets you high as fuck. And they all say "well it's cheaper than heroin". Well your supposed to be OFF drugs and saving your money. The clinics just brainwash you with that shit.

I know methadone works amazing for some people i have not had a good experience. I have whats called delayed digestion from it and i wake up with stomach cramps then projectile vomiting and horrible diarhea. So i started lowering dosage to get off and my muscles and bones ache so bad i can hardly move. Its been a nightmare i am going to shoot for getting off completely in a month. Hope this helps if your having issues and not sure its from methadone

It used to be $15/ day in KY where I go. When my clinic started accepting insurance and Medicaid it fucked me. Of course they are like any other medical institution and charge insurance and Medicaid twice what they should, my clinic had to raise their cash prices to match what they were charging the insurance company and Medicaid. Apparently Medicaid would only pay them the same as they were charging cash patients. The cost of my dose DOUBLED!!!

It’s 14 dollars a day here in VA. Suboxone is even more expensive. It’s 22 dollars a day. I pay around $420 a month for my MMT. It’s crazy.

Methadone doesnt get you high though. It just keeps you from getting sick and blocks all your opiate receptors so you cant get high anymore. I dont get why that would be a dui.

In the eyes of the tyrants you’re still intoxicated by a narcotic. It’s an atrocity and maybe with a great lawyer a person could beat the rap but they wouldn’t beat the ride.
Dustin Methadone is an opiod narcotic and it can most certainly impair you, intoxicate you and create a sense of euphoria. I don’t know where you heard that it cannot get you “high” but that is very wrong information.

Part of recovery is responsibility. Part of responsibility is PUNCTUALITY! If you miss a dose you have no one to be “pissed” at other than yourself. Methadone is a tool to help you live more responsibly. Clearly this is lost on you.

I wish the clinic in nEw Orleans took insurance
Nika N the one I go to only takes medical assistance. they won't take private insurance which I'm not sure why. I'm self pay because of this. I pay $90 a week. it's well worth it though. I've been on methadone since November 2, 2017 and so far have not had any mess ups. I get weekend take homes and I get a Tuesday take home. when they do my next random as long as it comes back clean, which it will, I'll get a Thursday take home. I'll only have to go to the clinic 3 days a week...Mon, Wed, and Fri. Like I said in a previous comment, it may not seem like a big deal to some but to me it's everything.

Damn 12 I pay 15 with no insurance. Why come to the clinic with no money she prolly spent the money on coke or other drugs. Your not helping her you are an enabler sounds like a random fiend to me I see um all the time at my clinic asking for rides with no money and asking for money, cigs and whatever else you got. Your making them feel like they can get stuff from you, like a cat they will come back over and over for their food you are just giving them methadone instead of food. SMH

So where I live in NC if you have Medicaid you don't pay. People make a big stink about Medicaid patients getting it for free. Medicaid even helps with gas if your doctor is out of town and that's with any kind of doctors appointment not just methadone. I hope in making sense
