It takes skill to fight without a weapon. It takes even more skill to fight without using a weapon that's in your hand. Prakoso practically beat all those henchmen without using his _right_ arm.
If you remember his motive for these jobs, it was to pay his child support. He actually hated doing this job, but he said it was the only job he was good at that paid well. He really didnt want to murder anyone, but money talks🤷🏽♂️
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't another hitmen (baseball guy and hammer girl) also going only for their targets, immobilizing anyone else who wasn't involved?
@@Sc0rp83 IMO it's kinda different. Baseball bat man & hammer girl used their weapons not only to kill their main target but their main target's henchmen as well. Meanwhile prakoso used his machette only for his actual target. He immobilized the henchmen only with his bare hand for that sole purpose
I love that they found a way to bring back Yayan Ruhian, dude was one of the high points of the original in a sea of AMAZING things, and yet his fights stood out as some of the best!!!...
Raid 2 - best fight scene (the kitchen fight) in a martial arts movie since Enter the Dragon. There are many good action scenes out there but none have the ambiance, the soundtrack and the pure level of skill like that kitchen fight.
Loved how they did this scene. Takes your expectation as to what you think will happen and just says na we're not going to do that. Watch this instead. Wonderful take on a concept.
I would say it was good of his opponents to line up one by one for him... But as we later learn he is rather effective against massed enemies as well!!! This scene in particular has a real feel of the early 1980's output of John Carpenter and James Cameron--obviously not the style of combat but the use of real locations and especially the lighting. Change the ethnicity of everyone involved and this could easily be Snake Plisken dealing with the minor irritation of a street-gang during a Black Light operation. Or indeed the T800 stalking the neon-lit streets of urban-decay Los Angeles. Absolutely beautiful, moody camera work.
Shaky cams are mosly unappealing but Gareth just makes them camera shake according to the characters movements which makes them dynamic but also comprehensive.
@Topan Lazuardihere in Brazil films like this are only made if a foreigner comes to film action films around here such as Fast and Furious 5 which was filmed here in Rio de Janeiro still with Paul Walker in life.
Yes, he is more creepy than some ghosts or supernatural beings from other movies. Imagine it's night time and you see this guy somewhere standing and staring at you 😱
Just like a line drill in Karate. Everyone lines up charges the person chosen to do defense moves one by one and you get something like this only less violent. I find scenes like these to be really boring and played out. Wouldn’t be so tough if they all charged him but where is the fun in that I guess. 😂
I think Mad Dog will win. His real name is Yayan Ruhian, a Silat master at the level no bare hands can put damage on him. You can hit him, but your hit won't make any damage. It's like Qi Gong in Kungfu. A martial practicing with spesific use of inner energy to enhance durability. Traditional silat fighters usually do it as part of their martial build. And Yayan is the one of the real masters.
Real person against fictional character?? Hmm what should I choose... Maybe. for starters, decide if you're going to stick with personas, or people, who portray those personas?

he was the final boss in raid 1
You know you're fucked when you're running away as fast as you can and your pursuer is simply just walking after you.
I think Prakoso might be the most merciful fighter in either of the Raid movies, at least when it comes to lethality

He's using the machete only to confirm kill his target. The henchmen? Yea well he "only" needs to neutralize them so they won't intervene.

prakoso: don't worry, there will only be his blood on this machete
Mad Dog resurrected and back with a vengeance.

Maybe he has a twin brother.

Prakoso?
The raid 1&2..best martial arts since bruce lee..
Damn!!! That's a good point, and I agree. It is so good, isn't it?
True. I like most of JCVD early flims like bloodsport and kickboxer etc. But The raid much better.

Andi Rama's brother

are u really going to run up against a hobo guy with a fricking machete?
This is how you film a nighttime scene. I could tell what was going on the whole time.
One of the best action movies in decades.
I love that it's a group of guys, but they walk in one by one. 😂😂😂
Spotted -20000
Bodies found -20000
noticed kill -20000
no recordings
no non-target casualty
★★★☆☆
No one saw him kill, those goons were all knockouts
I am fully addicted to watch the fight seen and bgm🤕😲
Really wish they didn't kill off Mad Dog especially really early in the movie he should've stayed longer.
The Raid 2 supposed to be stand alone movie but they dont have the budget so they make The Raid to raise fund .
The ‘going in 1 by 1’ technique is used by criminal organizations all around the world.

Jason Voorhees but smaller guy

He didn't even look at the girl who was pushed at him. Dedication to the job.
How it feels to play yoshimitsu, having a sword in your hand but rarely ever using it

A man of focus

Jason Voorhees would be proud❤

Honestly imagine a slasher movie with a character like this chasing you.
Prakoso fought them brutal and hard. But what upsets me he couldn't see his child no more after he chose the life he wanted
What did he expect? Hitmen don't lead child-friendly lives.
I've spoilered pretty much both movies by watching these clips but still wanna watch the whole movie
Yahan ruhian as Shang Tsung. Make it happen please 🙏🙏🙏
Phisical therapy and some good doctor, and they will be just fine.
Add some vitamin D3 softgels
You gotta wonder who is worse off: The guy he used the machete on, or the guys he didn't use the machete on.

when yayan ruhian took role in action movie, we know it would great
