What I loved the stand off right here "0:13" is that even though Jaka had a knife, he is still out beaten with the "distance" between him and mad dog with just the knife aswell to get abit of extra reach with the weapon. While even I personally will not like the idea of dropping my weapon down knife or gun, this is a perfect shot right here that sometimes you gotta know when you are out match or beaten. Here unfortunately as much as I will love Jaka to just hold out that knife going all in with that weapon, it will just be pointless due to the distance he is at with Mad dog holding a gun. As someone who is also into a sport call HEMA distance plays ALOT in combat, espically with sharpen weapons of some kind when guns are out of the equation.
Bollywood doesnt have the creativity to make a serious movie, every movie of theirs are dancing in the rain, forced casual comedy, dancing again, movies without physics, all in all bollywood is just pure trash and im indian who hates the fk out of bollywood and anyone affiliated with bollywood.
Plus when you're that much bigger than them you can eat most of their shots up close anyway bc they don't have the distance necessary to get nearly as much force. Once it shows mad dog being able to beat jaka when Jake has a hold of him that's where it kinda falls off for me
So brutal yet majestically executed. The sheer joy Mad Dog gains from being so sadistic in claiming his victims shows that he is beyond what the others are and is someone to be greatly worried about when confronted by him
“I never really liked using these things… takes away the rush. Squeezing a trigger? It’s like ordering takeout. Now this, this is the thing. This is the pulse. This is what I do…” Maddog is an absolute king tier villain, just this monologue puts him up there. Shows that you don’t exactly NEED a villain to be as deep as a trench.
The part that really gets it for me is how jaka never really stops fighting for his life. We see how the brutal blows of mad dog slowly beats his brain down, to the point where before he gets his neck snapped, he faintly tries resisting the arms holding him
The choreography is incredible but honestly with that much size difference once jaka has a hold of mad dog his strikes are not going to hurt nearly as much especially wearing a vest. The opening was PERFECT bc it was a direct thrust kick to the gut immediately followed by a leg kick followed by a head kick and gave the fight an air of mad dog is just too fast and technical and smart enough to stay back and pick his shots.
Mad Dog's strikes are around 90% NOT on the vest, but instead on the head or lower body. Jaka is taller but his build is more lean, meanwhile Mad Dog is more robust despite being shorter.
This honestly says so much about Mad Dog's character, even if Jaka had the knife pulled, Mad Dog had him dead to rights with the gun, could have pulled the trigger and put it right between his eys before Jaka could even flinch with that knife, but he wanted the hand to hand combat, he wanted the fight, even says he never liked using guns, takes the "rush" away, he really is a.....Mad Dog, wow. Great movie/fighting scene.
Maddog the Greget!!! Oldest meme in my country. The jokes back then was always about Chuck Norris vs Maddog.... What a peaceful time before Harambe....
I remember the first time I watched this film. I was truly expecting this skinny ass short guy to get put on his ass instantly. I get his character was being built up for a battle but I never would of anticipated he’d be one of the arguably toughest, insanely skilled OP ruthless and relentless boss battles in movie history. Mad dogg 💘
The speech he provided before they fought emphasizes a preference for physical confrontation over using guns, suggesting a certain thrill or excitement in hand to hand combat. While it doesn't explicitly indicate either sadism or narcissism, it could align more with narcissism, as Mad Dog is expressing a sense of superiority or preference for his own abilities and actions over using a tool like a gun. So I’d say narcissism, but no doubt he also has some sadism in him
What haunts me about this scene at the ending is of the conveyance of actual injury, pain then desperation from survival instint. It made me feel really sad when he got taken out. So many films 'glossify' violence that the protagonists are dehumanised.
Mad dog gets triggered about "his background" when Jaka pointing a "SWAT" knife at him. Only those who know can be aware and understand about this scene. I think in this movie , mad dog is a high skilled former special force operator.
From my understanding, the smaller guy is an actual fight choreographer. I forgot the name of the movie, but he was in one in which he didn’t want to fight, but it’s the only thing he knows how to do.
