Great job! This is a very helpful video! You have succeeded at making me feel more confident at returning to using my sewing machine and helping my son learn how to sew his CAP tapes on. Thx!!
Most was online. Cadet protection was part with the unit, part online. Tonight I take my last VIR class for Level II part I. I am also working on Level II Part II. We have a small squadron. I am going to be Emergency Services officer, Safety Officer, and Operations Officer!! Too bad there is no way I could talk to you in a secure manner if I ever needed advice. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next videos!!
Thank you for the video and steps on doing it properly. TBH, I have a lady in town do my sewing. She’s pretty good too. I’m afraid I’ll do it wrong and ruin my clothings, lol. She did my should/ wing patch, the tapes, collar rank patches and now the BISC patch for me. What is the average cost for a sewing machine, if you don’t mind me asking? I know I need to learn it myself for future sakes. I’ll use this video as a tutorial video too.
Sewing machines typically run between $50 - $500. Since you're just starting out (or at least you will be once you begin sewing), a simpler machine should fit your needs. I don't think my model of sewing machine is actively being made anymore, but here's the model if you're interested: Kenmore Sewing Machine 385.15202400
Hey, I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos! Your videos have helped me so much in my CAP journey. Thank you!! I have a question though. I just got my Achievement #1. Do you have any tips on how I could get my Achievement #2 quickly?
I recommend taking a look at the Cadet Super Chart! I made a video on it summarizing what it is as a tool, and it's a great resource for keeping track of what you need to complete for each promotion.
Thanks for another great video. As a Senior member another uniform problem I have is figuring out how to fit my Lieutenant patches on my ABU collars. Can you add this to your suggestion box for a possible future video?
AIR FORCE UNIFORM REGULATIONS AFI 26-3903 . You can Google that it's identical to whatever the Civil Air Patrol Regulations are Air Force is Air Force.
Thank you for helping this Grandma to know how to sew the name tape on👍🏻
Happy to help!

That's wonderful! Glad I could help.
Thank you I will keep that in mind. Just finished the online VIR course, “Choosing your specialty track” using Zoom. Excellent instructors in CAP.
Great thanks for the reply. I finished Level I, and looking forward to getting my uniform completed.
Great! Did you complete your Level 1 through VolU or in-residence with your unit?
Thank you for the video. USNSCC instructor here needed to learn how to sew on his name tags on his NWU's / ABU
I'm going to be posting one on sewing insignia soon, so that might be useful one for you, too!
@@Redberryweo Thank you ma'am!

I'm a Prior Service 1st Lieutenant Level 2 is easy. Level 3 when you go up for Captian in 18 months becomes difficult.
Thank you for this video! It helped me a lot
Happy to help! I'm posting another one soon on insignia on the collar and cover!

It's currently being edited and will come out within the next two to three weeks!
Sew your rank from the tip of your thumb.

Can you Staple the tapes and patchese on the uniform?
No! Please do not staple patches
If you don't know how to sew that's why you have a Quartermaster in your unit .
I sewed mine on by hand and ended up snapping about 6 needles in half 😂
Still an airman?
@@corruptedinc2621 Yeah I promote to C/A1C on the first
YOU DID IT BY HAND? I'm very impressed. One of my next sewing videos is sewing by hand, and it's pretty hard on the fingers!
Yeah it hurt and took forever
Good bye I am going to encampment in ND
Hope it goes well!
