This song is a constant reminder to appreciate the small moments in life.
Those last few lines.
"All cause I went to the store one day" gets me. Everything, all the love for his wife and all the plans he has for the future and all the struggles he's had and will have, all because of this one little moment in his life.
And that last line "Seen you around what's your name?" like i dunno. again just everything in his life coming about cause of one day.
It's so simple but it's just such an important thing to remember.
I saw him in concert and when he sang “Say, do you wanna get married” a girl in the crowd said “Yes”. He said “You’re not gonna like the end of this song then”.
Why wouldn't she like the end? We all have to die sometime; the lucky ones get to die in the arms of the one we love most
that's because he's married to the person in the song
This song... makes me hold my chest and smile with tears in my eyes. This one might be one of his best yet. That last line. Ugh... Amazing

This album will have a warm spot for me for a while. It's quite the love album and I feel like it encapsulates a lifetime of personal romantic history, starting with a whirlwind romance to cynicism and ending with a sort of contentness. It's really exceptional

This is one of the best songs of all time
I just listened to this song for the very first time and I’m mad crying. This man is an absolute genius and his music is so naturally touching.
I remember reading a certain review of this album when the person said something like this is truly Josh Tillman. No FJM. No cynicism. No sarcasm. The only one from the album where it doesn’t contain a punchline or irony. That’s a pure genuine love song. Every time I listen to this, I get sad.
Ought to be considered one of the most important musicians of the 21st century.

Descriptively Vague of course not, I always need a buddy when I listen to this song.
Whenever I hear this, I can't help but think of my ex and I. We used to be really happy together, I thought so at least. We both had shitty lives, mine was so discombobulated and unstable. Still is in a way. Earlier this year, I promised I'd come see her for her graduation since we were states away, and it was a little over a year since I saw her last. Then corona hit, I had to move to another city and now I'm trying to get my college settled because the pandemic fucked my whole flow up. I kept telling her I'd try my best to see her, and I kept working on my stuff to really get my life in order and then visit her so I can finally feel her touch again. She wanted it badly, and so did I. Eventually, she got tired of waiting. She called me and told me she needs a yes or no on seeing her, and if it's a no, then she's going to have to break up with me. I didn't want to tell her no, from the day I met her in person I fell deeply in love and I didn't want to say no. But I had to. I couldn't afford it, and I couldn't afford risking my health or hers to see her when I'm in a highly infected state. She told me she was upset because I couldn't fulfill my promise, I was upset because she didn't understand the circumstances... or maybe she didn't want to understand. I don't even know anymore.
If you're reading this, I still love you. I hate that I love you because I know you managed to move on after a week, but it's hard for me to let go of nearly a year's worth of love. I hope you find your happy one and you live a good life, because I don't know what you expected from me.

If anyone is curious about the chord progression on guitar I found it to be tuned down a half step to Eb with the G string tuned down another half step so it acts as an F (Eb-Ab-Db-F-Bb-Eb).

I've listened to this album through and through. Thanks to sub pop; it played out over my speakers, as a cavalcade of texts played out under my breath. This album provided the soundtrack. Normally this would spur me into buying the album on itunes but I'm getting this shit on cd off insound..goddamn I love music.
