- Hypermobility - having one or more joints that bend further than normal - is a surprisingly common trait in those with brain symptoms. Using RCCX theory, I’ll attempt to explain why this is. RCCX is a gene module (cluster of genes) that appears to be at the foundation of many psychiatric conditions and complex chronic health conditions, such as mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic inflammatory response syndrome (CIRS), and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS).
Hypermobility - a red flag for an RCCX vulnerability - does not have to be present for someone to be impacted by brain symptoms.

This gene cluster theory immediately clicked for me it explains ALL my health issues as well as the health issues throught my entire family tree going back generations
It makes sense for my problems and my daughter's problems
Interesting information. How sad and unfortunate it would be if a child was born with this mutation and was also raised with toxic parents. I didn't know this existed. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, I agree, but with this often comes a lot of strengths, including a strong drive to understand and grow beyond what they've experienced. Thank you for commenting.
@@courtneysnydermd-holisticp3072so true I find this our community most caring people in society after all adversity brings appreciation for life albeit along road to some recovery hypomobility autism ADHD fybromyalgia CFS hernias but ime sure it's the autism what's causes it apparently we have more senses
Yep, that was mine and my siblings case. Its awful
@@danileretz5799 I have hypomobility autism add fybromyalgia CFS symptoms years OCD do you have pain symptoms
Wow, when you talk about yourself, it sounds like you're taking about me. Nearly everything that you had going on, I do as well. I wish I was able to get to work with you and get my life back. 😔
Thank you for commenting. There are a lot of us. You might find the RCCX facebook group helpful. I did a post on RCCX theory a few years ago about my personal journey. Maybe something there will be helpful for you. www.courtneysnydermd.com/blog/hypermobility-rccx-theory-and-one-journey-from-illness-towards-wholeness
As someone who is autistic and on the spectrum and regularly suffers from Anxiety, Depression and has both ADHD and ASD and even OCD, this makes a whole lot of sense to me somewhat.
I may not completely understand as of it but I kinda get the gist of it. It really does explain alot as I do suffer a lot mentally and have done for years and still do now, even my body as I've gotten older has started to display more physical side effects to this stuff such as more frequent panic attacks and anxiety which mixed in with my severe hypochondria is not great as I'm always living every day feeling like I'm going to die from some freak illness or condition despite being told before by doctor's that my heart, lungs etc are fine and that pulse is just a bit faster than it should be but not too dangerous. They mostly told me it could be a side effect of my medications or even my life style, perhaps both but it could be genetic which is how I learned about pots.
My question though is can I ever truly recover or nullify these symptoms or am I stuck like this because it is ruining my life and making my mental health so much worse than it already is.
Also what about those of us who do have these conditions? If it's in our genes that would mean we can pass it on right? Which means technically we likely shouldn't have children or anything in the future because it would then be passed down to them.
Have you taken a DNA test? My twin took one on family tree DNA and bought the upgrades to teach us about the genes. It taught me so much, then you can research your genes and begin supplementing what your body can't produce. Try it out! Although, even with the supplements, I've been having massive anxiety this week. Maybe I'll stop eating sugar for good.
Ok now I have a suspicion that this is HIGHLY related to autism/adhd, I gotta see some correlations because this is blowing my mind
Yes. You are correct. You might google RCCX theory CAPs profile and read Dr. Meglathery's traits for CAPs

That's really interesting. Yes...Low stress tolerance is definitely an issue here. It sounds like he had good insight into what worked for him.
@@courtneysnydermd-holisticp3072 I think losing his mother in 1934 to brain tumour and also hypermobile autism though they both diagnosed with another name then which put us of the scent for our later diagnosis.i live where he was and my mother was born on the smallholding surrounded by his and my family's things to soothe the soul albeit another autism trait my son is now diagnosed but at least early.
