      It really all depends on what you're doing obviously if you have a Delta Pro or a Delta Max this could be a benefit but as a standalone generator probably not but thank you for watching

    • @Pk3_Garage
      @Pk3_Garage 2 года назад

      I agree, the only real benefits I see with the Smrt generator is it can start on its own and you can monitor it through the app. Down sides are it still has to sit outside. It can only produce 1800 watts, which isn't much if you're using this to charge a DP and extra batteries. You can't add an extension cord. It only holds one gallon of gas and can only run for three hrs. at a time.

    • @ThanksForTheLaugh
      @ThanksForTheLaugh 2 года назад

      @@Pk3_Garage 1800 watts is the max rate the station can take, every 2K small generator I've looked at holds the same about 1 gallon of fuel. Runtimes are similar also at full load. Sit outside? Cloudy days or weeks Solar panels are pretty worthless. The extension cord is valid point, however the generator charges power stations with DC that's more efficient with no inverter loss, plus the data channels.

    • @Pk3_Garage
      @Pk3_Garage 2 года назад +1

      You bring up some valid points. I don't think charging it charging with DC power is a deal breaker for most. As long as it produces power when needed. If your DP and/or batteries are at low charge, you will need to have enough power to recharge them, at a reasonable amount of time, while having enough power to run other things all at the same time. Remember, the lower the input watts, the slower the charge.
      For example, we have just the DP and a 9000/7250 tri-fuel generator. We can charge the DP, at 1800 watts, while having enough power to run everything in our home at the same time. It cost us $850 and holds 8 gal. of gasoline. Our primary fuel source is NG. We get 13 hrs. run time at 50% load, that's 3625 running watts.

I’d charge it solar and sometimes while driving around mostly solar. It’d power my mini fridge, lights, and a fan. Planning on getting something bigger since I was having my doubts like you I just went with the river pro to give it a try. Nice generator and smart features but its a little underpowered at 1600 and 1800 watts not really powerful enough to be affected in larger systems to charge faster just wished it was at least 2500 watts or more especially given the price point great idea though just a little underpowered for me.

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  3 месяца назад

      It's really not for someone that wants a generator it's really more of an add-on to the ecoflow ecosystem if you have a Delta product it's more of a backup when you don't have access to solar and maybe your power is out you can at least use gas to charge your power stations

  • @shubinternet
    @shubinternet 2 года назад +1

    I notice that the power output on this generator is considerably less than the charging capacity of the EcoFlow Pro -- I wonder if they're going to come out with a larger capacity model, or a way to hook up two of them to the same unit? Maybe without using one of the ports in the back where you would normally connect an external battery?
    It would be great if you could have your main controller plugged into everything battery-wise and output-wise, and then add a generator to that configuration so that you could charge the unit while it's being used.

    G'Day from Downunder!
    Thanks for the Nice review, but I have a question that there seems to be no answer too just yet.....
    If you take one of the Extra Battery Units (ie Expansion battery not main unit), either the Delta Pro Battery or the Delta Max Battery and connect it to the Generator for charging..... with the Engine Stopped, can the Inverter inside of the Generator continue to provide power from the attached battery unit?
    If you don't know, is it something you can test, As I would see this being a useful feature in some situations as well?
    Another question that I can not find an answer too, is whether or not the Internal Battery is Recharged / Kept charged by an attached Delta Pro / Delta Max / Expansion battery when the engine is not running? I.e., the Generators internal battery should never go flat even if left switched on in standby, so long as the attached Delta power station has charge and is switched on?
    Logic Tells me that a smart design engineer would have considered this, but you never know, and its not mentioned.
    Reason I ask mainly is for those who have the Smart Home Panel, with attached Delta(s), but also may have a Smart Generator attached.
    Basically can the generator be left with its Switch on, so that it is always ready to provide extra backup power without the user needing to worry about its battery going flat?
    Cheers!

      Thanks as far as your max question you have to use one of the ports for the generator so you can't have two batteries connected to it

      @TechMadeEzy I thought so buddy. Bit silly that as the max could be a 6.2k . You'd think ecoflow would have sorted an adaptor like the pro.
      Cheers 🍻

      @TechMadeEzy Hi again. My duel fuel generator arrived today. I have it up and running on propane. My question is can I have petrol in the gen as well as the propane attached while im running on propane.
      Does it conflict with both fuels.
      Thanks 💯👍

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  3 месяца назад +1

      To my knowledge yes they are 2 separate fueling systems but you don’t want gas to sit too long in the unit. I would run the gas until it’s dry.

    If you were to take the amount of money that all these products cost, you could just buy a whole house generator and pay an electrician to install it. It would seamlessly kick in when the power goes out. Lastly, it would be less money and less hassle than that whole setup.

      Yeah but many of us are looking for something portable. Not something permanently installed.

    • @Radek3887
      @Radek3887 Год назад

      @@e.m.c.2209 I guess it's portable if you move and want to pack it up and take it with you. As portable as a large generator that you can pull out of your garage and plug into a transfer switch. Anyway, I'm all for batteries but, I think this whole thing is a dumb use of money. And, again, for the same money, there are better approaches .

    • @rp1526
      @rp1526 Год назад

      I agree. That’s what my wife says too. But the portability is what I like about it. I have the Pro, extra battery, and the generator and they can be taken anywhere like camping, RVing, working outside, etc. Plus if you move, or the wife kicks you out, it comes with you.

    one thing I forgot to is purchase the DC adapter for the delta pro. Can't believe that they do not include it.

    How long will it take for the generator to charge the ecoflow max from 30% ?

    • @TechMadeEzy

      Max wattage is 1800w in all the right conditions so that depends. It could be around an hour or less.

    kinda sucks if you have two smart batteries, the inverter, and the generator…how do you charge both batteries and the inverter if you need to hook up the generator?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  2 года назад +1

      The generator is just an alternative way to charge in the case you don’t have AC or SUN for solar.

    15 feet of cable is a joke. Unless you are running this generator out of an RV the auto start feature is not realistic for most people because the cable is too short. Most people will have to move the batteries closer to the door just to make the connection. This defeats the auto start feature. I would rather have a dumb generator with a long cable, than to have to move batteries that weight 99 pounds close to the door and then perform a manual start.

    I re-watched this review to see what the dB level was. The standard generators manufactures measure the sound level is 7 meters (~23ft) away from the unit.

    I wrote EcoFlow and asked about making upgrades to allow using the Infinity port or adding a connection to allow charging the unit and 2 spare batteries. Here is there reply:
    "Our DELTA Pro has 2 extra battery ports, so you cannot connect 2 extra batteries and 1 Smart Generator. Currently, we don't have a plan to add more ports. And the Infinity port is used for EV charging, which is a different function.But I will still send your suggestion to the relevant team to let them decide."
