I pray that this great nation will feel even more the influence of the holy spirit in their lives when they have a Church Temple.
I was a missionary in St. Petersburg from 1992-1994. One of the most frequent questions we received from new members was "When do we get a temple?" 25 years later, their country is finally ready. Hosanna!
Though I am not a Latter Day Saint but am a Jew I am glad to hear these things. My Rabbi and my Cantor both have best friends who are Bishops in their respective areas. Not from the same temple and it's funny as one of my best friends also was a couple of Latter Day Saints I went to their meetings and helped with showing the times when they would talk about something that I could interject where rthe Jewishness if you will might have been missed by them if they didn't know. It was a real neat time back then. Very happy to hear.
What a blessing to have Elder Uchtdorf represent The Church is Russia. His insight and experience makes him uniquely qualified and it speaks volumes to All those who hear him. These dutiful men who serve The Lord are an inspiration to us all. We pray for you.
It's great that Elder Uchtdorf differentiated between a temple and a meetinghouse because in Russian and more specifically the Russian Orthodox church, temples are our equivalent of a meetinghouse. It's where they have worship services, so telling someone not of our faith that we will have a temple is insignificant unless they know the difference.
How exciting!! I know families are eternal. With priesthood keys, what is sealed on earth will be sealed in heaven! The work is hastening & it's a wonderful thing is witness in these last days. ❤❤❤
We as "disciples of Christ" discern the difference of good from bad but without upsurping the place of God; who alone condemns others to hell. Bible speaks of the sad state of those who judge others beliefs even condemning people of other beliefs or religions. Latter-day Saints demonstrate how judging others is not Christlike. The temples throughout the world are beautiful and enrich the social and cultural climate. The Saints abide in the law of the land and strengthen local communities by their strong family values and integrating civic participation.
Some are doubting that this could ever happen. God cannot lie and he communicates through prophets. The church always comes through the front door of governments, not attempting to hide anything. That tells me that with all the current events in Russia, something will change that will allow a temple. Russia will change, which helps me have more faith about the current war and how it will backfire on the current leadership of Russia.

I'm confused... Didn't Russia recently "ban" open proselytizing? Seems odd they would allow a Temple. Though, I'm glad at least. I'm actually surprised however they banned our proselytizing given our values and principles are most like good Russians. Every place thrives that has Mormonism there, contrasting others.
