I would have to disagree with the use of anti-depressant medication from my own personal experience of it. But that's just my experience, and I heavily emphasise MY. Other people may be different. Plus, not all medication is addictive. That again is a subjective experience.
How do we incorporate vitamin deficiencies such as B vitamins and magnesium, or improper/proper nutrition into counseling and supportive recovery for people with addictions especially while speaking of alcohol addictions. This seems to me a common sense approach. There is increasing research in the fields of genetics and biochemistry saying that nutrient deficiency cause these feelings, alcohol contributes to the cycle of absorption deficiency that lead to chronic abnormal feelings.
One of the acronyms often mentioned in addiction recovery is H.A.L.T. which means or stands for don't get too Hungry, too Angry, too Lonely or too Tired. Certainly being too hungry could contribute to vitamin deficienies and/ or low blood sugar. Also, in my regional area, the rehabilitation centre does feed patients very well.
Thank you. Funny thing is i knew this when i was a kid. I just forgot about it. 27 y/o and have 4 days with no alcohol.
Alex Ramos Well done.
Hope you’re doing ok Alex
I am learning so much here. Excellent work
