Many comments about the space in front of the building being barren. See 3:45. Don't worry about what you see being an end point. The city is not complete, it's very, very, very much a work in progress and there is a *tremendous* amount more to be done!
Just curious you may have addressed this at some point but do you have an end goal? Or will you always be building and expanding you city?
+Stephen Zacharias Well the first end-like major milestone will be to finish all of the stuff I've planned for the past couple of years, much of which is bullet-pointed at www.jangbricks.com/2016/03/lego-city-layout-plan-queue-updated-mar.html With that stuff and a few other things taken care of, the layout will have no truly barren space and very, very, very little non-custom stuff. After that, we'll see how I'm feeling & what I want to do next!

Lots & lots of comments about the building seeming out of scale with the ones around it. As explained throughout the video, this is my first, not last skyscraper, and all of the official LEGO "modular" buildings will be replaced. See 2:08. Seriously Jang, you need a bigger room! And you should build the second skyscraper just as the first one. Also in green. And place it than so, that there is a giant plaza in front of those two. (Just rotate the whole thing.)

skyscraper is sick on its own but it needs some detail in the empty land in front like stairs, gardens or a pedestrianised area

It looks plain when it just sits on the baseplate. I think it would look cool with it sitting on a 1 or 2 brick high foundation with a driveway.
He has only just started. Give it sometime. Once the yard around it is done I think it will look great. He even mentioned working on the entranceway as well. He just wants to work on some other things to change it up.

For your upcoming skyscrapers, perhaps add some rails on the roof to hook-up some window cleaning pods. Also in my opinion, the lobby floor is too similar to the other floors, perhaps consider making windows look taller or wider for your future skyscrapers. As an architect myself, I feel like splitting the green walls with black horizontal lines gives it a more residential look. Modern commercial towers I've worked on usually have no interruption which makes the building look taller.

Thank you for your expert comments! I completely agree about the horizontal bands. Unfortunately my desire to be able to individually separate floors and allow interior detail edge to edge called for part that hasn't been made in dark green, and I opted to press on with a substitution rather than bog down with what could be a pretty significant redesign. My next tall building will use a completely different building strategy that will allow exactly the look I want.
I hope that there will be completely round one at some point in the future :v

Nice build, but it really does not fit in with the rest of the city. It's a like a whale grouping in with a bunch of sharks, it just sticks out like a sore thumb and not in a good way

i know this is an older video but hear me out, i love the building I think its wonderful . But I think It needs Just a bit of life on the sides, nothing crazy , just some signage maybe some advertisements/billboards . Something at like the 2/3 or 3/4 height so if a lego person was say driving into the city or even flying in theyd be like " oh theres the BrickCorp ( just an example name x,D ) building!" it would be useful more as you add taller buildings so lego people dont have to second guess if theyre going to the right place ^_^ love your videos btw

Our towers are about the same height ...but mine is gray and rectangular. It's also very dense, and has (so far) cost me a little over $500 USD.

You should make another skyscraper that reflects it and build a modern courtyard in front of them.
You should add a fountain or a food truck at the bottom. It's just a suggestion do what ever you want. :)

I recall a while back when you told viewers that you would put a lot more work into building up your city, and I must say that you have certainly succeed. Though this scraper currently has no interior and is indeed rather plain, visually it's presence is significant. Having a plain building will help contrast against the more interesting ones that you will build in the future, while also adding a good deal of realism (Real world skyscrapers aren't always architecturally outstanding, either!). At any rate, it shows that you are sticking to your goals and making rapid progress. Keep up the great work!
Jang, thank you , it makes my day to watch one of your creations go up. I think I can help translate why people are saying this feels a bit out of place, your mocs are barely a fifth of the size of your sky scraper, the elevated rail barely touches the 3rd storey of the skyscraper, also realistically (non mini-fig scale) you have skyscrapers blotting out the sky , but then the scale of a real city allows for such "technical licence" .i am sure if one thing as other fans of your creations will agree, we are willing to wait it out, because no matter what you put your mind to gets done with impeccable engineering and taste.

It would be really hard to move that building if you ever have to move house again. But brilliant job. Simple but awesome. Maybe you can do a meeting place infront of the skyscraper? It seems a bit empty. Regardless, great build. Still loving your videos Jang. Keep it up.

Hey Jang! You should make elevated walkways connecting all your skyscrapers. Just high enough so you can put a streets running underneath. We have them everywhere downtown in our city of Calgary called the '+15'.

I think the ground floor needs extending out into the planned Plaza, maybe with a balcony on top linking to the first floor.

It dwarfs EVERYTHING you've made! So much so, that it kind of looks out of place, but I'm sure when more get build it'll fit in perfectly.
To me, 3 stories is a distant dream. 1 story is always easy. A second, more sloppy story is acceptable. But 3 stories is as high as my figures could stand

When I get around to making my own lego city one day I think I want to do something that has a kind of gotham city feel with all the different levels of elevated rail and roads winding between all these weird statues and gothic buildings. Every time I see a NJC update it inspires me to wanna go get started.

Love it! The shape was a surprise and I can't wait to see the future plans unfold. With the dark green and it being so dauntingly tall, I expect only an alien minifigure to own the company. Something sinister? It just has to be ;D Would also love to see at least 1 face of the skyscraper open like a door so the insides are optionally visible. :)

I think it would be cool, if your skyscraper had a light blinking on the antenna to warn planes. Maybe even inside the skyscraber behind some of the windows would look cool. Continue the good work!
