Of course…a contractor loves a client that doesn’t complain about timeline, pays whatever is asked and doesn’t know when it is built right.
His client is so good and lenient with everything it costed him half a mil. He made out with a grip. Homie prolly didn't even know what he was really paying for. He just wants to see the job done and says yes to whatever this dude was telling him smh.
That part was driving me nuts! People, please sign bulletproof contracts before any actual work takes place. The last thing you want is for a contractor to screw you over.
LOL!
Half million dollars? Even at $30-$40 per hour, its a joke that you could have spent $500,000 and you definitely took advantage of this homeowner.
@Awisefish why you talk like a getto rat? Lol
I live in SoCal and we had half acre of land and the house came with no landscaping, it cost us 110K for a pool, spa, built-in bbq, 2 patio covers, a low wall spanning the width, ie 100 feet, another 50 ft of walls around the courtyard, (all stuccoed, 14 queen palm trees, 6 pigmy palms,8 ficus trees, lots of flagstones in the backyard and around the pool and spa. Half a million is excessive. There was a handball and tether ball court.
@@777trader8 they do that because the people they cater to are techies who don’t think those prices are ridiculous.
@@777trader8 😂😂😂😂
@Anh Đào sorry, I don’t know where he is, he moved out of State.
@Anh Đào my pleasure
@@nosaoyemade9618 Is the rumor true that your contractor was unlicensed, planted 14 stolen Queen Palms in your yard, 5 diseased Pygmy Palms, and disappeared in the night with some other customer's money?
I'd like to see the backyard two years from now & see how everything's holding up.
The real thief is the landscape company. No way this is 500k worth of landscaping.
This was done I imagine in SoCal hence the 500k.
@@rafaelgonzalez8249 Watda is right, even 30 days of 10h with 10 men at an average of 35$/h = $105,000. There's no way it took 30 days to begin with and theres no way 400k went in materials/trees etc.
you must not live in ca
You sure about that?
You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about
Great video!! As someone who owns rentals and have used countless contractors, you speak facts about the pure cost of materials and labour. This isn't a reality TV show where the builds are unrealistic, this is reality and NO ONE works for less than $20/hr on any renovation crew, unless you DIY. And something of this magnitude, let the Pro's take over, cheaper in the long run in my opinion. Loved your transparency, thanks for posting.
It’s amazing when you get a good customer. It makes you want to do more for them. A lot of homeowners don’t get that..Absolutely gorgeous job T. Guys did great 👍
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!!
So your definition of a great client is one you can overcharge and accepts, without issue, any errors in your work? You should have charged $200K to $250K for this project. I would have loved this client to. For $500K you did not build a firepit?
Should've charged? You sound broke dude. Know your area and charge accordingly
I work as a landscape architect for NWD in Palm Beach, Florida. I can assure you designing is expensive but the outcome will always be much more suitable for the client. Some clients make landscape design adjustments and sell the house, making more profit then what it was intentionally going for. To make money, you have to spend money 👍🏻
Theres no way that should cost $500K unless you are building it on the Dark Side of the Moon! My friend lives in Manhattan Beach ($$$$) California and has a equally beautiful backyard complete with a salt water pool, BBQ pit set in stone work, a mini Kitchen, a hot tub and an entertainment area and it was only $250K. Easy going clients get taken for a ride apparently... 🤦🏼♂🤷🏼♂
That sounds a lot closer to what I figured. I thought maybe $125k for the pool and $100k for the hardscape, then maybe $50 for that fake grass..:)
Depends on where you live along with supply and demand. Where I'm at contractors can basically name a price and if the client doesn't take it the price goes up once they've gone through other contractors and arrived back at their original choice. There is such a shortage that clients are tapping contractors 100's of miles away.
@@whatsupwithsteve 125k for a pool is a joke here in california. $80k for a simple standard one.
this guy is in nor cal, everything is more expensive there. Manhattan beach area is considered middle income compared to where the area this guys works out of.
Yea this is in the Bay Area. Manhattan beach is cheap compared to here 😢
This video gave me so much motivation it’s also cool to hear from the boss perspective and the hunger to grow his business all though you make money people will hate that but I don’t care this what it takes
Absolutely spot on mate loved it all, love to come out and see what your doing and vlog about it, Happy New Year Johnyboy
Nice job but no way in hell does that cost $500,000.
10K dollars max. Here in Texas got something much bigger for 4-5K.
Especially with that fake grass, it made the whole thing look cheap. It should cost no more than 50k.
Y’all know nothing clearly
As we are going through our backyard pool and landscape design and install here in SoCal, I can assure you those numbers are correct when everything is included, planting etc.
@@retrogamer2548 10K is impossible…did you mean to say 100K?
I understand why your so proud of this project...... its absolute perfection 😍
I still feel like this could of been a 150k-200k job in another state and maybe in the cheapest states 60-80k
I agree. Even in California this project should have cost $250K max.
@@davidr4523 true im just guessing but idk how long he said they worked on it and how many guys were on the job but definitely
Go get quote let’s see if you’re right🤡
@@EldePHX Did get a quote. Ur a clown 🤡
U forgetting how much was them special trees
Great amazing work applewood 🍎 keep doing what you doing 👍🏽
T I enjoy viewing your videos, sometimes built right cost money. Having the peace of mind with clients and your contractors is gold!!!!
T, your crew’s do incredible work! I like how you run your business. Keep it up T!
Tigren always says in California. California is one of the largest states. Tigren works in Silicon Valley. Silicon Valley is the highest cost of living in the entire United States. The cost of living in the Sacramento California area is 75% less expensive than Silicon Valley California.
Labor in Salinas or Lincoln or Modesto California is a lot lot cheaper than in Silicon Valley California.
So it isn't simply California. It's specifically Silicon Valley California : Menlo Park, Saratoga, Los Altos, Redwood City, San Jose, Mountainview all of Silicon Valley homes start at $1 million, most cost more than a million. You have to earn $300,000 a year to buy a home here.
You are correct. I am from the Modesto area and labor costs less than Silicon Valley.
This guy gets it lol. LG/Saratoga native. Took my 300k/yr to el dorado hills where the dollar goes farther lol
@@AlexRodoni I'm buying a duplex there in 2024.
Can you make a video breaking down your costs + time of running your RUclips channel and how you manage both RUclips and landscaping together ?
Gorgeous work and great crew !
This is an awesome job. Your guys do great work 👏 👏 👏
Wow, a beautiful work! The cement steps look so nice and standing out. The Techo Bloc paver also very nice. What is the color of the Techo bloc pavers that you used?
Nice! I would add some lighting on the steps and around the perimeter.
Congratulations! That job looks terrific, and good on you to distribute the credit to everyone who contributed to project (including the client!). Excellent and compelling video too....well done. it would be great to know some more detail on the projects' "dimensions" meaning sq ft of the project area, size of pool, and brief timeline talk. You mentioned that it is not great to have overlap of subcontractors; did that happen? What was the flow?
Thanks again for making the effort and sharing your work. Double thumbs.....10 out of 10!
The back was about 6k sqft.
Pool guys started first. After the installed the coping. We came in to do the walls and prep. We left, deck guys came. After them we finished up.
T. You have some talented people working for you. Looks great. 🎄
Insane!!! Great job.😍
Looks amazing brotha you have a great team soon you’ll be doing way better and bigger things
As a pool signer, I’ll say this is a beautiful pool! Those steps are on the money 🔥🔥🔥 great work
Hi, Tigran! How do you price out your projects? Do you add a margin on top of all material costs and call it a day or do you add in costs of delivery, dumps, square foot (per material used), etc...? If you already have a video discussing a breakdown of these things, will you please point me in the right direction? Thank you so much for your videos!
Looks fantastic 😮good work
That’s crazy money for that small backyard
Awesome Project! ❤️
Great video, nice work.
Great work love it
Looks outstanding 🙌
Love this.. new sub!
Welcome 🙏
Very professional and the way that turned out it’s very beautiful going up the concrete stairs instead of those plants I may have done a fire feature
That is crazy nice. I dropped $180K on my backyard and only got some basic pavers, deck, and a retaining wall. It’s soooo expensive in the Bay Area.
Awesome landscaping ,great job guys !
could you tell me please is it possible to plant Plants in the turf? is it possible to dig through the turf if you want to plant some plants after turf instalation?
No absolutely not
Beautiful work.
Wow you guys got over big time.
I can see why that’s your favorite kind of customer
Bro you just gain a fan bro I love how you just straight forward an tell it how it is bro. God bless an wish u the best in life
Everything looks deadon level! What tool do you use for keeping levels on track
I was working for mguire and Hester in the landscape Division . I capped at $48 an hour 😅 paying someone $20 doing landscape construction in the Bay Area is ridiculous
I live in Bay Area also-$500k for this in Bay Area?- I know costs have gone up but a pool and fountain and landscaping for 500k?
@@BMe-ck6fd its pretty low tbh. In Seattle projects like this are usually more like a million
Keep doing great things T
GOAT 🐐
Great job👍 Respect from Vladivostok's masons✌️
Awesome job
When a client wants a $500k landscape design, you nod “yes!” Great time lapse and beautiful install! Happy New Year!
Crappy home is probably $200,000. And owner spends $500,000 on landscaping? … somewhere in la-la world.
@@cranberryeater7459 house is way more than 200k.....it's California.
@@davidvanbrunt4233 maybe. Anywhere else it would be $200,000. It’s not an interesting home by any standard. Just a cheap standard build home.
@@cranberryeater7459 lol it’s california. The house is over a million dollars. California is not anywhere else. Buildable land is scarce and highest population state. Obviously Million dollar house minimum.
@@MarsTradingStrategies perhaps California is that La-La world. Nothing ever made sense in California. I rather go where there is less craziness.
thats beautiful!
Bravo, good work! Rudi.
Really very awesome house with beautiful pool..Just wow!
you all work so fast moving like the flash, definitely worth paying 500k
I would have done a botanical garden with 500k 🤣.
Dude got ripped off 🤦🏻♂️
@@star2be83 ripped is a soft word. English dictionary need to find an other new word for this case.🤔
Gold leaf plants too
Amazing work!! What size is the pool?
Great video
looks wonderful
are there solar plant lights built on the small plants /gardens next to the stairs and lights installed all long the wall....I reckon they will need some sort of pool gazebo or pool shelter that covers the outdoor dining area. Comes handy if they were hosting a get together
Beautiful! Don’t know about the price tag though!
It does look supreme for sure, but the gray and concrete look a little too industrial, or commercial. For my taste it would need to be less gray. The trees around the perimeter are awesome little touch, and I do think the artificial grass was a smart move.
It's good you respect your workers and understand there skills not many businesses owners do that nice job
Amazing project and amazingly high price. This would cost about £150,000 in the UK ($200k). The labour prices are very high compared to here but that said the finish is great.
AWESOME!
140k for 8 stairs Ahahaha
“Good customer” lmfao😂
So nice!
Bay Area is absurd w prices. A new 30 by 20 ft driveway at our clients luxury home was 140k including custom stone work, high end pavers, landscape lighting etc it adds up 😭😭😭
people can buy their dream home with that kind of money... geez sooo much but man that is a Fine looking outdoor space! 👍
It’s so nice tho great work
Is it hard to maintain those plants with a retailing wall 3:25 like this?
Gorgeous!
Really impressive.
I can do it for $120,000
wow amazing job so impressive indeed for that price we also can big villa here in netherlands but it turns very gorgeous and finish is so impressive
beautiful gumtree in the back there mate
all facts
Wow so amazing job
tigran, do you mind sharing the spec on the turf.
I’m happy to say I can do all this myself from the coping to retaining wall, to pavers and excavation, decking and trees, tile. All except the pool and stairs those one person can’t do alone. Those stairs came out beautiful tho well formed also it’s hell when those type are formed wrong.
Skills I’ve learned in a few years now I’m one of the best for everything even lighting and welding, If I ever do my own house this size I’d be able so save so much doing everything alone.
Just have supplies handed to me.
Met a guy the other day retired firefighter did his own home from wall to pillars and fence himself.
So rewarding when you do it yourself
And not pay 500k
Maybe 200k max
Great comment. I absolutely agree with you that this project looks very nice but he overcharged in my estimate by $200K. For $500K he did not even include a fire pit.
It’s California
Bad ass job T
A $500k garden with - wait for it - artificial turf, boy oh boy oh boy...
and with - wait for it - a house only worth $750,000 LOL who would spend nearly as much as their house is worth on their yard?!
@@DemonWhispererRuntz 😂😂😂😂😂😂 please please that’s California that house is worth more than a million dollars, think twice you would never found a house like that for $750,000 in CA 🤦🏻♂️, I live CA for 3 years and is fucking expensive, excessively expensive that job is easily worth $500K 🙌
@@luisvicente8021 a house like that in shasta county is definitely not a mill.
San Jose ca, is something else, beautiful city.
Amazing work i need me some of tbese contract eventually 😅
Finally daily dose of internet unveil
Omg 500,000$. 😱😱😱😱one more reason to love my Woodlands Texas
Thank you
Did the rain last week wash this away.?,,,lol
Sweet.
Nice overall, pool could use some water features a bit blah.
We had some water features planned but they were backed up die to supply issues and didn't make sense to delay project.
That is amazing work. I can't believe how much that costs in California, will probably never move out there. End work looks beautiful though.
A young dude drops $500k just on a pool and deck... "My favor customer Ever!" 😂😂
Your amazing bro love ur channel
Was watching on TV and had to come to my phone to see the comments 😂
Was the pool installation included?
LOL sounds like you got a good sucker of a customer. No wonder you liked him so much. Happy for you!
Very nice ❤❤
Hello, I really liked the tiles you put up, I would be very grateful if you could give me some link to them or some other information to find them (5:39)
I’d say it’s a two way road. Some contractors abuse the flexibility of the home owner and cut the corners and leave bad marks after the job. For good contractors the good home owners is a wonderful match!!
My pool in Sacramento was $100K and it’s just a simple rectangular pool. No waterfalls, no slides, no boulders, just a pool. My fence fell down during the 2021 storms and it turned out we had to do a land survey, hired engineers due to needing a retaining wall, all in all, the retaining wall, not including the fence, cost $70K, and this was the lowest bid we got from 4 different companies. So yes, labor in CA is very expensive.
