Mr. Bald has been a good example for me, he’s a great guy. I’m a tad uptight and on-guard when I’m travelling. It keeps me safe but it’s hard work at times.
I’m from Clacton, 25 years i’ve lived here. Clacton is lovely, i cannot believe you came to my hometown and i didn’t see you, i’ve been watching for years!! I’m also a regular postman down Jaywick, the people are lovely, people slate it but i would rather live there than in a high rise council flat in london! Big up bald and thank you for checking out my hometown!!
I’m British, working class, northern and even for me the last place, Jaywick, was pretty shocking for me to see; a place so bleak, devoid and derelict within proximity of the capital. London council uprooting, moving and shafting people. Class content as always Bald, shedding light on people who don’t often have a stage or voice.
I've realized the North(&, by that I mean Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Durham & Northumberland are actually very decent places to be), compared to most of the country.
I don't know how true that is about London councils using it as a dumping ground for undesirables. I wouldn't be surprised if there are people who end up there as nothing is available in London council housing. Jaywick has an ongoing fight for a massive reinvestment program, but it's got so many issues it's very hard to sort out. I would not be surprised if the next government tightens up controls on the standards of privately owned social housing (which at the moment is a disaster) and a lot of those properties are either modernised or removed.
Maybe it was a nice video for his American viewers but as a Brit, I kind of knew what to expect as everybody heard of Jaywick and know its history and what it’s all about. It’s just sad. I also don’t believe about dumping people into Jaywick from London.
The same weather and spirit like in Northern Germany or many parts of Eastern Germany. That's what I like about England, it's true to the bone. Really authentic.
I live a few miles from the town B&B lives, when he's here. I don't honestly think there's much to be gained from him only visiting the worse parts of Britain, as worse is pretty much the same the world over and doesn't tell you much about a country.

Hopefully one day you'll pay us northerners a proper visit, but it's always lovely to see how kind, accepting and fun our southern counterparts are.
The problem with a lot of sea side towns in the UK is cheap holidays abroad, most were incredibly busy thriving places once. However the dawn of cheap flights abroad that were readily available and affordable to many people meant people moved away from the British seaside. Less money coming in inevitably led to a downturn for many of these places.
In sweden we dont have that problem. Guess it has both to do with the weather in summer being quite nice here. And also a mentality among people saying its nice to be on vacation in your own country.

In recent years, Clacton has been having record levels of tourism; it can't be that forgotten. Jaywick's image is a red herring as it's a product of a housing policy. It was never a seaside resort; just developed to accommodate holidaymakers for a short time in the 1930s.

Since coming across your videos, I can't stop watching. You are a genuine person, respectful, easy to make friends, and a good human being.
Bald's unheralded skill is his ability to say a quick goodbye and sound more sincere than anyone you've ever met.

Jaywick..full of Jeremy Kyle contestants
I've realized the North(&, by that I mean Cumbria, North Yorkshire, Durham & Northumberland are actually very decent places to be), compared to most of the country.
Jaywick seems like paradise compared to Middlesbrough
Do more adventures across England, Honestly it would be really cool to see you going around where youre native.
I live a few miles from the town B&B lives, when he's here. I don't honestly think there's much to be gained from him only visiting the worse parts of Britain, as worse is pretty much the same the world over and doesn't tell you much about a country.
As a resident of the UK I find travel videos here compared to almost every other country dull and boring but maybe it’s because I live here
It will cost to much .
@@ItsVisceral I feel the same. Mind you, we are, apart from winos and drunks, a much quieter lot than in many countries, which is not ideal if you're making a travel vid and the locals don't really want to talk to you.

For a foreigner that lived in the UK, I can say that engels people are one of the most chatty people out there.

He's actually interested though, just a curious soul
"act interested" is a horrible take.

Lol almost everyone has that skill.
Yes that’s the same over here in the Netherlands. Going abroad is cheaper, and usually guaranteed good weather.
Yeh that and the European Unions fishing policies. Destroyed nearly every single fishing fleet all around the country.
In sweden we dont have that problem. Guess it has both to do with the weather in summer being quite nice here. And also a mentality among people saying its nice to be on vacation in your own country.
@@mattmcintosh3939 offcourse its the EU's fault again. So is it significantly better now whitout completely overfishing the seas, or what?
However, I remember in Hastings in the 90ies allready, they had to throw away lots of fishes on the beach, cause they were forbidden to sell or something, or overstocked or something 🤔...

Smile at us, pay us, pass us; but do not quite forget;
For we are the people of England, that never have spoken yet.

There is many a free French peasant who is richer and sadder than we.
There are no folk in the whole world so helpless or so wise.
There is hunger in our bellies, there is laughter in our eyes;
You laugh at us and love us, both mugs and eyes are wet:
Only you do not know us. For we have not spoken yet.

It's upsetting to see how these parts of England have been forgotten. Loved caravan holidays around here as a kid.
In recent years, Clacton has been having record levels of tourism; it can't be that forgotten. Jaywick's image is a red herring as it's a product of a housing policy. It was never a seaside resort; just developed to accommodate holidaymakers for a short time in the 1930s.
