Possibly my favourite Neil Young song
I’ve loved Neil Young since I was 14 many years ago. Just subscribed, love the Dead too
thank you for subscribing 😊👍
I love this song. Written as a statement about his relationship with Crosby, Stills and Nash at the time.
That provides a lot of context! Now I get it.
Glad to hear you doing this. I saw this concert. Maybe not the album but the tour. It was fantastic. Neil doesn’t hold back when he plays. I have seen him as a solo act (not with CSN) around 5 or 6 times. Never disappointed. Saw him with CSNY as well. He is my favorite. only have seen Dylan , the Dead and Richard Thompson more times. Neil let’s emotions through his music. Thanks for continuing your journey and sharing with us.
thank you for joining the ride :)
do you recall how long Neil's shows were?
"Rust Never Sleeps" is a full concert film, where you see Mr. Neil Young, aka "The Man", actually perform the songs, solo and also along with his band Crazy Horse (Frank "Pancho" Sampedro, Billy Talbot and Ralph Molina) and the "Road-Eyes". I gave a copy to each of my three brothers for Christmas last year. During the song "Thrasher" Neil messes up and pauses for a second, but then quickly picks up the song and finishes with style. Of course. In it's basic tale of working on a farm, a "Thrasher" is a large piece of modern farm equipment that help with large scale wheat harvests, and some other crops as well. The concert movie was directed by Neil as well, under his alter ego name of Bernard Shakey.
nice, thanks! I'll try to find it
welcome back!
glad it worked out! 🌈
I love the music and Neil's vocal here. Some of his songs are only live. Neil's attitude toward recording is to just leave it alone if it's good. I love Bob Dylan but he tends to monkey with editing too much (at times) on songs and it removes part of the purity in them musically, Bob even complains about himself doing this. Neil is pretty much a pure spirit, he's does dubs and editing of course at times but very limited. He said in an interview "when the muse speaks to me I do it that way and don't mess with it", I'm paraphrasing. Dylan's newest album is fantastic btw, been listening to it a lot. Glad to see you back, fantastic reactions 👍.
thanks for the support 😊 I haven't heard any of Dylan's albums, just a couple of songs... We'll see where the journey takes us
@@deepdivemusicreactions I just threw that in as part of what I'm listening to right now. if you get there his 60s albums are where you'd want to start. there's a channel CimdyStyle who's reacting to a lot of Dylan's songs and I haven't seen a single song blocked. Her channel gets into an analysis after the song like yours and SyedRewinds channels which is great. Her reactions themselves during the song are great. A lot of bands aren't blocking like they used to. I'm so surprised Young's copyright holder blocked you.
He had this and another 2 songs Inca Queen and Ride My Llama as a trio of Inca songs...Haven't heard this album for years think 1st side is accoustic and second electric with Crazy Horse
The Lyrics is about His friends CROSBY STILLS AND NASH High on Drugs in LAUREL CANYON IN LA and Neil wanted away from that hippy lifestyle so Neil left CSNY and went Solo
thanks :)
I was stationed in Wiesbaden Germany...Say Neil in Heidelberg with this tour and the Road EYES and luckily caught the last train back to Wiesbaden so I wouldn't be Awol
it was that great Grand Canyon episode
I think you should do Young's Weld album next. The Velvet Underground's self titled album (their 3rd album) or The Velvet Underground with Nico their debut album. If you would like to revisit CSNY I would recommend 4 Way Street live album. The Velvet Underground only did 4 albums. Then move onto Lou Reed's album Transformer. I'm sorry you didn't get the rest of the Tonight's The Night and Zuma reactions up but their awesome on the Weld album.
yeah, unfortunately not much I could do as YT rejected my dispute.
Yup 4 Way Street great live album especially with the electric side with Carry on and Southern Man
Yeah 4 Way Street was a great album first individual accoustic on first 2 sides and then 2 Sides of Electric .....no other reaction requesters ask for cause they only like short top 40 garbage radio
It's actually spelled Thrasher, not Trasher.
thanks, I'll fix that
It's actually Thrasher. not Trasher
Thrasher okay but not great
