I actually found the song to be perfect. It's refreshing to see a band as heavy as White Chapel, slow it down and go with a groove versus just being as fast and heavy as possible for the sake of being fast and heavy. Give me this all day! Best song of theirs since "The Saw is the Law."
I watched this with lyrics earlier for my first listen. I think the music and lyrics go together perfectly. And holy shit, I hope Phil is going to be ok...
Pretty biased because they’re my favorite band, but it’s heavy, Phil is still slinging some gnarly lows, it’s all good. This album is gonna be like The Valley I think where you have to view the work as a whole and not as individual singles.
Dude! My wife and I (shout out from Catherine herself too) love your reactions and taste in music sir! Much love and respect all the way from South Africa 🇿🇦🤘🏻💯
He talks about what this album is about on some podcast recently. Its basically chapter 2 of the valley. There is a god figure and him battling the whole album. Is the dumb down synopsis. Im pumped for it!
He lost his parents at a young age, so it goes deeper than you think with lost boy when he said “we are the orphan sons” and in this track of him referring to his parents being dead and wanting them back, understandably he shows his pain in his music more so lately than ever. I relate allot with his lyrics, So for me it goes deep but to each their own, I personally don’t care is someone dislikes this song, especially coming from lost boy, maybe the album will have a good mix of cleans, they seem to fit very well into this “shift” of their music/songwriting, it was interesting yet very different at first but works well in my opinion, it’s cool to see them changing into different stuff but still keeping that old whitechapel style that made allot of us enjoy their music, not for everyone but regardless it wasn’t bat shit horrible.
I agree in that this is a good song with some great groove to it, but I much prefer Lost Boy to this track. We will have to see how the rest of Kin (the album) will sound to see if they're going to mix this style with the Lost Boy style more or not.
Your intros kill me everytime🤣, much love man whitechapel is one of the bands I got into years ago when they released possession this song is really good I was actually surprised the guitar in this the bass and drums were killer but Phil, man he's just a fuckin beast and brutal as ever🤘🔥🔥
Love your reactions dude! And you;ve reviewed a fair bit of stuff! You need to look into funeral doom/death doom stuff like Mournful Congregation from australia. I was lucky to see them and meet them in 2019 at Ralph's Rock Diner in worcerster MA. Killer show!
The song is lyrically heavy. The album is a straight up continuation of the previous album. This song is about him hearing a blood soaked symphony in his head where a demonic evil version of him is trying to resurrect his dead parents.
A New Era of Corruption was the last album I REALLY liked from Whitechapel.. can't really put my finger on why... I'm sure this song would slap live. A little slow for some casual listening.
I believe Phil is being heavily influenced by his mother’s diary, what he went through in the past. I’m not sure if he’s tapping into dark arts literally, but if he is, yes GC, he’s not doing good.
No he's okay,..this album is an continuation from the valley,..Phil explained in the podcast with the singer from motorhead, he likes creating songs influenced by his past as an form of therapy. He's not into dark stuff,.he just creates his art like that
Song was good, but it wasnt great! It didnt change enough for me, the metal was basic, almost like an alternative type death metal, I'll have to agree that the song wasn't anything special, it was missing alot of kicking my ass lol!
This fucking song is a big boot right to the fucking chest. It's so low and slow and fuckin heavy man. I thought lost boy sucked, I'm sorry. This song is exactly what I wanted after that. I've been jamming Our Endless War in preparation for this album and this sounds like it's right off that album.
I think this might be one of the best songs they have ever written. I’m done with all this wanky prog that lacks imagination and most importantly creativity.

Agreed! This is classic Whitechapel. Their old shit is phenomenal.
Fast pased, whitechapel is heavy, slow pased whitechapel, is just deadly.
Nothing will compare to there first album as far as fast and heavy. They kinda fell off to be just meh.....
Today’s amazing, new whitechapel and Orbit culture´s EP
Don't forget new the omnific song too
And Diablo 2 Resurrected
Fit for an autopsy tomorrow!!!
Don't forget new albums from Signs of the Swarm, Forgetting the Memories, Rivers of Nihil and Cognizance. Happy metal day!
I watched this with lyrics earlier for my first listen. I think the music and lyrics go together perfectly. And holy shit, I hope Phil is going to be ok...
So do I lol
Pretty biased because they’re my favorite band, but it’s heavy, Phil is still slinging some gnarly lows, it’s all good. This album is gonna be like The Valley I think where you have to view the work as a whole and not as individual singles.
This Shit goes hard af.

I can't wait, it will be a fucking awesome album!!!🤘🤘🤘
This could be one of their best ones, imo. I love the groovy chunk it hard going and the higher guitar notes had me wanting more
He talks about what this album is about on some podcast recently. Its basically chapter 2 of the valley. There is a god figure and him battling the whole album. Is the dumb down synopsis. Im pumped for it!
Yeah it’s supposed to be the dark side of himself trying to pull him down the wrong path

Orbit Culture - Mast of the World
I found the song to be very strong along The Valley in terms of musicality but the grooviness completely made up for any sort of "repetitive" feeling
I agree in that this is a good song with some great groove to it, but I much prefer Lost Boy to this track. We will have to see how the rest of Kin (the album) will sound to see if they're going to mix this style with the Lost Boy style more or not.

metal bands are getting so good at groovy it's hard to get heavier and have personality attached to the heavy but I love this overall
Your intros kill me everytime🤣, much love man whitechapel is one of the bands I got into years ago when they released possession this song is really good I was actually surprised the guitar in this the bass and drums were killer but Phil, man he's just a fuckin beast and brutal as ever🤘🔥🔥

You are my spirit animal man
You look like a man that can handle his beer fasho 🍻💪
Fit For an Autopsy dropped a new one called Far From Heaven. Pretty sick!
Came here specifically to mention this. Far From Heaven is so fucking good. Some Gojira-ish vibes with it.
This song is where I decided it was safe to say Whitechapel hit a certain groove, and just like that we got groovecore🤣🤣🤣

A New Era of Corruption was the last album I REALLY liked from Whitechapel.. can't really put my finger on why... I'm sure this song would slap live. A little slow for some casual listening.
Absolute slapper of a track. The video is so dark and evil

I guess
But The Monkey Though
Lmfao 🤘
Lmao I think he is good😅
This twat waffle became extra buttered once this song released. So much brutal. So much yes. I am one happy syrup soaked kitten.
Never heard a Whitechapel song to this day that has wowed me, I find them overrated even though I know Phil Bozeman vocals are strong
They're not for everyone, at least you actually listened and formed your own opinion
you're drunk. nice.
Shit
