My top favorite MS of all time! I always love that they changed the name, Super Freedom sounds lazy and stupid. As the machine itself was designed specifically for Kira it make sense that the name Strike which is the first unit Kira used is involved.
IMHO the war in Destiny was actually between the mastermind in the shadows (Durandal) and the Songstress of hope, whom he knew would be the fiercest opponent of his Destiny plan. Kira actually lost the psychological battle, which cost him Freedom, almost his life, almost the Archangel, and reinforced Shinn's mental twisting as well, despite being the greatest pilot in arguably the most powerful mobile suit at the time. To me at least, it seems that whenever a hero / protag is deemed unbeatable in battle, the story / villain almost always moves to wear them out psychologically first. Character development then is the hero's journey to remove all doubts and mental obstacles. By the time Kira realized he had to kill a single person, he was so well resolved that he could even flip Rey, and that's his character development. Shinn on the other hand finished by nearly killing the girl he loved, getting obliterated in battle, and then being forgiven / recruited by the bunch of people he personally tried to kill. Not very good character development, i think.
Probably shine better in Freedom with Kira as leader. After the war and following Kira lead he will probably grow more as a character. That's my guess anyways, if he can't grow after that? He's hopeless.
I agree strike freedom is the most powerful mech in the seed destiny series but I wish they make the final battle between legend and strike freedom more intense like the final battle between freedom and providence. If there is a pilot and gundam can match Kira and freedom it’s rau le cruset and providence I have a feeling that rau le cruset will return in the upcoming gundam seed movie
To be fair Strike Freedom vs Legend was a bit more balanced as both suits had the Dragoon system while in Freedom vs Providence only Rau had the Dragoon system.

5:40 this explains the kind of engine that is equipped with SFreedom. For a long time, I really do think that Freedom/SFreedom's nuclear reactor is superior even to those of Legend and Destiny. And maybe they are, because if you compared the launching sequence between the former and the latter, Destiny and Legend are still tethered when being launched while Freedom and Strike Freedom can launch themselves untethered. In fact, even the Infinite Justice might be also launching while tethered since its OG reactor poofed when Athrun self destructed it to prevent Genesis from firing. And I also think that while SF is also using hyper deuterion engine, they still have the OG nuclear reactor from Freedom, which they can still be use to improve the former's power effiency, hence the reason why Strike Freedom is still able to launch itself untethered and also maybe one of the reasons Destiny and Legend are still running out of power despite having a nuclear reactor which was claimed to be able to energize their Gundams indefinitely.
Destiny gundams Wings of light can make dragoons useless since it confuses freedom's auto targeting system. That's why Strike freedom only engages destiny in close combat and manual Beam rifle aim. You can also see that kira struggles to hit shinn with long range weapons and resorts to close-quarter combat
does ira have spacial recognition ability ? most sources said that no he doesn't and can actually use the dragoon because the computer on his machin does it for him
5:54 i think the reason Destiny was losing power because Shinn was getting hit. Phase shift armor consumes power more than the beams, thrusters and cannons. There was a scene were Kira catch the Destiny sword and hit him with railguns
It's because having a nuclear reactor doesn't mean you have infinite energy. The nuclear reactor generates electricity into a capacitor which is then used to power the machine. It's just that with a nuclear reactor, this capacitor is continuously refilled while a battery-only machine would not. Basically the Destiny was using up so much power that it's consumption surpassed the reactor's production rate.
I wish GSD had the final boss like Providence in SEED. It would make a big difference. Rey vs Kira didn’t count because Rey was so out of league. The past is the past. I’m so hype for the new movie!!!
This is so informative! I didn't know the freedom and strike freedom started development at the same time (which is stupid) I also think that the strike freedom is a work of art but I disagree about the statement that strike freedom is the strongest MS in seed destiny. In terms of mobile suit specs, I think it's not any better than destiny. Please make one about Legend too!
@@zaik are you implying that the strike freedom is better than the infinite justice? It's twin unit? Keep in mind that we are talking about mech specs here and not factor pilots. What I meant is that all 3 of them are on the same level of specs with a clear role. Freeddom = long range, justice = close range, and destiny = balanced/multi purpose.
it's not about specs, it accurate about the freedom and the justice, who's bascillay twins. About the strike-freedom it's differente cuz the sf is based on kira's skill and historic from strike and freedom, it's an ms made only for him but the infinite justice isn't based on athrun's skill, the infinite justice is basically just an upgrade of the justice. that's why the strike-freedom is stronger way better than the infinite justice, it would be differente if the justice was based on athrun's aegis and justice but it's not the case here. @@shhheee
it's more about the machine itself the destiny is strong very strong but not enough is mid range where the strike freedom excel with hisdragoon and full burst mode and not enough in close range where the infinte justice is just the strongest cuz athrun is'nt way stronger than shin he won cuz the justice was juste better he could not have done the same with an inferior ms@@Muu-tan
The reason the nuclear engine was failing on Destiny was because it's wings of light were a flawed version of Strike freedoms draining the engine rapidly.
The Dragoon/remote weapons is pretty inconsistent tech The first gen are pretty much can only be operated by C.E. Newtypes, 2nd gen ones are said to be much more user friendly and didnt need Newtypes to operate yet we are given hints that Kira and Rey are Newtypes (the latter even confirmed as Al da Flaga clone) also strangely "only" Nuclear Powered M.S. are equipped with it. hinting its massive use of energy
Athrun can rival kira's skill as a mobile suit pilot, it has never been discussed but he defeated kira and shin. Kira is my favourite character but I don't think he plays the part of the ultimate coordinator well. Just my opinion though!
Its still the best for me, im not really a fan of the freedom and the Rising Freedom from the new movie to be honest. Strike Freedom still has that iconic awesome looks
Well they did say the destiny that Kira Yamato is the strongest coordinator. In fact Rey states that he & La Crusse are inferior retries of the powers given to Kira Yamato.
The New Freedom looks cool but its such a downgrade from the Original Freedom its like the "Light" Version where as the Strike Freedom is like the "Advanced" Version
I think he made a video on this already but it already explained why the Rising Freedom is a downgrade. It's the treaty so no NJC. That means less armaments and power. Strike Freedom is still Kira strongest Gundam overall and could only be used when Nuke's are starting to be thrown. Might get an upgrade as well overtime for the just in case scenario when Kira needs all the power he can get.
I don't think the Strike Freedom is the most powerful gundam in CE. I think any suit has their advantage and disadvantage. For example the weakness of Strike Freedom was that it can not use its wings of skies on Earth and the Dragoons weight it down. It may not have taken any hits during the final battle but I think the final battle was BS because it just Kira and Athrun just talking to Shinn and Rey that was it.
I can't believe I'm saying this but, in Kira's defense, It was Rey who started the "I am Rau" conversation. Still, Rey shouldn't have been phased by Kira's words considering it came from the mouth of someone he didn't give a shit about. Maybe if it was shinn who said those words then it would make sense as it holds more weight coming from someone he cared about. Athrun abused the hell out of talk no jutsu though.
@@shhheee that was manly the issue with the whole final fight. If Shinn fought Kira I give Shinn the upper hand seeing how when they are both in seed mode Shinn has the advantage. Kira tends to loose to someone else while they were in seed mode even Athrun. Rey may have started the whole I am Rau thing at the end and not sure why he did I mean I don't think Rau told Rey to be like him or something like that.
@@Nataku302 I also would have preferred it if shinn fought kira in the end where he can go all out without any mind games coming in play. Not to mention he is farther from Luna which is a huge liability. Bitch didn't even provide cover fire for her man, throwing her weight around.

Well Luna wouldn't have done anything to stand in between him and Kira she only did that because she realized Athrun side and wanted both to stop fighting. I mean I'm just hoping Shinn gets an upgraded Impulse. I would still give the Saviour Gundam to Luna.
