Little known fact: Star Wars used to make AMAZING games. It was a mistake not to continue the story in game form, as it was one of the best fps games ever. In my opinion it rivals even the likes of halo.

Little bit of knowledge. Jango Fett revised several Mando'a war chants for use with the clone troopers. He edited them to be more republic oriented by swapping the words Mandalore with Coruscant (Coruscanta). However the irony here is that the Mandalorians have ties back to Coruscant. Specifically the species that Mandalore the First lead to conquer the widely held homeworld of Mandalore, were called the Taung, and were indigenous to Coruscant before they were driven from it by the Zhell (humans).

I wouldn't call them overrated because the whole Jedi-Sith-Force combo is pretty kickass but definitely not the only kickass thing in the Star Wars universe. Such a shame that still noone picked up Star Wars 1313 after the disbanding of Lucasarts :( It is still in the air though, some studio still might get the license to continue it

People ask: Why didn't Republic Commando get a sequel? Because Lucas hated it, it was not his work, it was based of a novel that was a lot darker and showed a warlike Mandalorian culture which was used as a basis to raise clone troopers. The RC video game is an M rated game for good reasons, it is dark and features high amount of violence, blood and death with guns and knives instead of light-sabers. Lucas wanted to make the Clone Wars CGI animated series which was aimed at children and featured clone troopers a lot. Thus everything that was in Republic Commando (books or games) were removed from continuity because Lucas needed everything to be 100% child friendly. Since Disney bough STAR WARS I'm afraid that the last nail in the coffin for a sequel.
Disney made The Black Cauldron, even The Hunchback of Notre Dame was pretty dark. Since EA is making the games (oh god) and some of the studios make pretty awesome games, I wouldn't call it a loss yet.
Uh. I'm afraid you're wrong about that. Lucas himself had very little involvement with the games and it is unknown why Imperial Commando was cancelled.
First of all , RC is rated T (at least on the PC) and second of all, the novels where tie ins to the game, not the other way around. And finally, there's still a chance for a squeal. The directer of the Clone Wars series loved the game (that's why Delta squad makes a cameo in season 3) and Disney wants to make sure everyone knows their serious about Star Wars. A great way to show that would be to make a RC squeal.

The first 4 people are delta squad, top left is Delta 1138 Boss, top right is Delta 1262 Scorch, bottom left is Delta 1207 Sev and the bottom right is Delta 1140 Fixer, they were trained by a mandalorian by the name of Walon Vau, who was recruited by Jango Fett (the template clone) to train the clones in which he trained the commandos, and so Delta Squad was born, the leader, the demolitions, the marksman and the slicing/hacking expert. The woman is Shae Vizsla, of Clan Vizsla, she was a mandalorian bounty hunter at the time of the sith empire and galactic republic, around 4000 years before the clone wars.
I love that game so much! I remember when i was 6 yrs old and playing this on first xbox ahhh that was amazing. I'm happy that steam have it and i was able to get it and play this awesome game again! :D

miciso666 Boss, Scorch, and Fixer will return in Imperial Commando IIRC, and while there will be references to Sev, IIRC his actual fate (whether he's alive or dead) *won't* be revealed in Imperial Commando, although Karen Traviss has said that she would like to expand on what happened to Sev at some point, so there *is* still hope that we'll eventually learn what happened to Sev on Kashyyk.
Man, this song takes me back, Remember the days the Clone Wars was a subject of awesome stuff like this game, and Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Remember back when the Clone Wars was serious show that actually adhered to lore, was grim and adults could watch it because it was made by the creators of Samurai Jack? I remember, and would cry, but Mandalorians don't cry.
And then Disney cancelled it to make a shitty show that completely ignores previous storylines, but since disney declared that the expanded universe is no longer cannon, apparently that doesn't matter. They will, however, make 3 completely obsolete and shitty movies so they can keep feeding their bank account. And don't forget disney infinity, which is pretty much DLC quest, but you have to pay actual money, which will exploit the fact kids take anything and will nag for the new figurines that cost 30$ a piece. Same goes for marvel. Disney is EA, accept it.

MrChurrobueno Shae Vizsla and Pre Vizsla are not related, but they fought for glory under the same aliit (Clan name). Mandalorian clans are not necessarily blood-related, but they do treat their clan-members as family. Also, Shae Vizsla is JUST a Mandalorian warrior, she is Shae "Torch" Vizsla, Alor of Clan Vizsla.
Republic commando looks better than than some of the games today Republic commando was way ahead of its time it's way better than code its just a simple FPS no silly over the top moments just great story great voice acting and great characters

As the rain pours down over your visor... the gunships land and take off ready to fight... you. and your team. the only things that can make a difference in this war are going to nuetralize sun-fac then await further command from the general. Really this game is awesome. I loved how the timed stuff was really timed! like the mission where you had to stop the genosians!!! Loved it! the weapon arsenal was small but deathly! remember blasting down enemys with shotguns?! or ripping everything up with the genosian laser gauntlet!?!?! AMAZING and and the crossbow to smash droids to bits! then when those were gone you used your normal commando rifle then a pistol and a KNIFE in your FIST there was no "class change" or "vehicles" just what you were given some of what you picked up and 100% skill
What do you mean? Like you'll be a rebel killing Storm Troopers? Well I think the game should offer two story lines one Imperial team and one rebel team.

I remember fighting together through all those missions, covering your brothers and getting it done as close-nit team. The raw emotion of leaving Sev behind and the lack of closure we got for it it echoed the harsh nature of that War so well. I remember deploying onto that ghost ship too, that was so damn awesome. The powers-that-be need to recognise the value of a mature and gritty Star Wars licence that had characters that people actually like and engaged with.

what would be cool if in battlefront 3 you could unlock a special forces character depending on whatever military and star wars era you pick from respectively. empire - imperial commando, sepertist - general grevious body guard, mandolarians - im not sure but someone high up in chain of command, ect. and other harder challenges you can unlock the champions and leaders.
Friend of mine played this song while we were leveling commandos in SWTOR during the Colicoid war games (hold the hill part)... i could swear i dropped nostalgy tear at that moment. Republic commando was best SW game period.

Loved this game. It was perfect. The setting (the Clone Wars, in my opinion way more interesting than Empire vs. Rebels), the game mechanics (ordering your own squad of elite fighters to blow up a door.. amazing!) and especially the characters (Scorch and Sev's bantering- Oh, that was priceless! ) - This game did everything right. And no obligatory Jedi/Sith-Glowstick-users in sight! Kandosii! I mean, it's really annoying that almost every Star Wars games concentrates on this conflict... There's so much more in the Star Wars Universe!
Just the atmosphere and immersion is what i find so amazing about the game. You could really see that the dev's didn't want a massive cashcow, but just wanted to make a game about 4 commandos during the clone wars. And i must say, from the bottom of ny heart, that this nay be the best game ever made. It has no flaws, amazing design (the helmet HUD, i mean, come on, that's pure genious) and very enjoyable gameplay with amazing characters and undoubtibly the best dialouge ever made. ( Scorch: [after killing a Geonosian] Hey Sev, this one looks like your mother.) Just try to think of ONE game you could say of it was better than Republic Commando.

The animated series (clone wars) actually saved the republic commando storyline by featuring them in the show, thus making them the highest tier of cannon. "That piece of crap cartoon series just saved your storyline, so you better show some RESPECT, PRIVATE."
it would seem that any of the darker version of star wars games are being disposed of. Republic Commando 2 was supposed to be, but the first was a little too dark by comparison to Lucasarts other games. and 1313 was scrapped upon turnover to Disney. sadly, star wars fans who crave the more graphic version of the star wars universe are restricted to books and fan made films.

People ask: Why didn't Republic Commando get a sequel?
Because Lucas hated it, it was not his work, it was based of a novel that was a lot darker and showed a warlike Mandalorian culture which was used as a basis to raise clone troopers. The RC video game is an M rated game for good reasons, it is dark and features high amount of violence, blood and death with guns and knives instead of light-sabers.
Lucas wanted to make the Clone Wars CGI animated series which was aimed at children and featured clone troopers a lot. Thus everything that was in Republic Commando (books or games) were removed from continuity because Lucas needed everything to be 100% child friendly.
Since Disney bough STAR WARS I'm afraid that the last nail in the coffin for a sequel.
Disney made The Black Cauldron, even The Hunchback of Notre Dame was pretty dark. Since EA is making the games (oh god) and some of the studios make pretty awesome games, I wouldn't call it a loss yet.

First of all , RC is rated T (at least on the PC) and second of all, the novels where tie ins to the game, not the other way around. And finally, there's still a chance for a squeal. The directer of the Clone Wars series loved the game (that's why Delta squad makes a cameo in season 3) and Disney wants to make sure everyone knows their serious about Star Wars. A great way to show that would be to make a RC squeal.

The first 4 people are delta squad, top left is Delta 1138 Boss, top right is Delta 1262 Scorch, bottom left is Delta 1207 Sev and the bottom right is Delta 1140 Fixer, they were trained by a mandalorian by the name of Walon Vau, who was recruited by Jango Fett (the template clone) to train the clones in which he trained the commandos, and so Delta Squad was born, the leader, the demolitions, the marksman and the slicing/hacking expert. The woman is Shae Vizsla, of Clan Vizsla, she was a mandalorian bounty hunter at the time of the sith empire and galactic republic, around 4000 years before the clone wars.
the composers of the game took reference from old Soviet Union chorus pieces. Sounds pretty kickass.

miciso666 Boss, Scorch, and Fixer will return in Imperial Commando IIRC, and while there will be references to Sev, IIRC his actual fate (whether he's alive or dead) *won't* be revealed in Imperial Commando, although Karen Traviss has said that she would like to expand on what happened to Sev at some point, so there *is* still hope that we'll eventually learn what happened to Sev on Kashyyk.
Man, this song takes me back, Remember the days the Clone Wars was a subject of awesome stuff like this game, and Star Wars Bounty Hunter. Remember back when the Clone Wars was serious show that actually adhered to lore, was grim and adults could watch it because it was made by the creators of Samurai Jack? I remember, and would cry, but Mandalorians don't cry.
And then Disney cancelled it to make a shitty show that completely ignores previous storylines, but since disney declared that the expanded universe is no longer cannon, apparently that doesn't matter. They will, however, make 3 completely obsolete and shitty movies so they can keep feeding their bank account. And don't forget disney infinity, which is pretty much DLC quest, but you have to pay actual money, which will exploit the fact kids take anything and will nag for the new figurines that cost 30$ a piece. Same goes for marvel.

Bo Salomons If you're talking about Pre Vizsla, the leader of the Death Watch, to my knowledge she has no relation to him what-so-ever. She is of Clan Vizla, which I'm pretty sure is a different clan but I don't know for sure so don't take my word on it as fact.
MrChurrobueno Shae Vizsla and Pre Vizsla are not related, but they fought for glory under the same aliit (Clan name). Mandalorian clans are not necessarily blood-related, but they do treat their clan-members as family.
Also, Shae Vizsla is JUST a Mandalorian warrior, she is Shae "Torch" Vizsla, Alor of Clan Vizsla.

Really this game is awesome. I loved how the timed stuff was really timed! like the mission where you had to stop the genosians!!! Loved it! the weapon arsenal was small but deathly! remember blasting down enemys with shotguns?! or ripping everything up with the genosian laser gauntlet!?!?! AMAZING and and the crossbow to smash droids to bits! then when those were gone you used your normal commando rifle then a pistol and a KNIFE in your FIST there was no "class change" or "vehicles" just what you were given some of what you picked up and 100% skill

I remember fighting together through all those missions, covering your brothers and getting it done as close-nit team. The raw emotion of leaving Sev behind and the lack of closure we got for it it echoed the harsh nature of that War so well.
I remember deploying onto that ghost ship too, that was so damn awesome. The powers-that-be need to recognise the value of a mature and gritty Star Wars licence that had characters that people actually like and engaged with.
One day i'm going to make my own game company with my friends, and i promise you that as doon as we have the resources and skills, we are going to make Imperial commando and restore star wars back to its former glory!

what would be cool if in battlefront 3 you could unlock a special forces character depending on whatever military and star wars era you pick from respectively. empire - imperial commando, sepertist - general grevious body guard, mandolarians - im not sure but someone high up in chain of command, ect. and other harder challenges you can unlock the champions and leaders.

Loved this game. It was perfect.
The setting (the Clone Wars, in my opinion way more interesting than Empire vs. Rebels), the game mechanics (ordering your own squad of elite fighters to blow up a door.. amazing!) and especially the characters (Scorch and Sev's bantering- Oh, that was priceless! ) - This game did everything right.
And no obligatory Jedi/Sith-Glowstick-users in sight! Kandosii!
I mean, it's really annoying that almost every Star Wars games concentrates on this conflict... There's so much more in the Star Wars Universe!
Just the atmosphere and immersion is what i find so amazing about the game. You could really see that the dev's didn't want a massive cashcow, but just wanted to make a game about 4 commandos during the clone wars. And i must say, from the bottom of ny heart, that this nay be the best game ever made. It has no flaws, amazing design (the helmet HUD, i mean, come on, that's pure genious) and very enjoyable gameplay with amazing characters and undoubtibly the best dialouge ever made. ( Scorch: [after killing a Geonosian] Hey Sev, this one looks like your mother.) Just try to think of ONE game you could say of it was better than Republic Commando.

Scott Seltzer 2 things whos the girl in the pic second i loved how Rc was so dark and serious it made the whole series look better imo and the person who made the cartoon actually loved the game. Thats why you see a cameo in episode 3. And if dice makes RC 2 then that would be cool
The animated series (clone wars) actually saved the republic commando storyline by featuring them in the show, thus making them the highest tier of cannon.

it would seem that any of the darker version of star wars games are being disposed of. Republic Commando 2 was supposed to be, but the first was a little too dark by comparison to Lucasarts other games. and 1313 was scrapped upon turnover to Disney. sadly, star wars fans who crave the more graphic version of the star wars universe are restricted to books and fan made films.
