Republic Commando kicked me off in my love of Mandos. I memorized Vode'An and looked for the translation and fell in love with what looked like a rich history just from one song. They have taking over the Jedi as my favorite faction.
"Here's why you can't exterminate us, aruetii. We're not huddled in one place-we span the galaxy. We need no lords or leaders-so you can't destroy our command. We can live without technology-so we can fight with our bare hands. We have no species or bloodline-so we can rebuild our ranks with others who want to join us. We're more than just a people or an army, aruetii. We're a culture. We're an idea. And you can't kill ideas-but we certainly can kill you."

@Bocaan The Humble During the timeframe of the Mass Effect games, I'd probably give the win to the Mandos, but pre-genophage, the Krogan were virtually unstoppable. And their physiological advantages, such as their redundant organs and regenerative abilities, would likely negate any technological advancements offered to the Mandalorians. It's one of the few scifi matchups I actually find interesting, because it almost entirely ignores the relative power tiers of the two universes in question. Ultimately, it would probably wind up being a numbers game.
@@jaffarebellion292 i think it all depends on the krogan too... if its a 1000 years old battlemaster who is a freakin biotic on top i'd actually say the krogan would win unless the mando is wearing full beskar (which is not a given in the clone wars period... beskar is rare after all) krogan healing factor, their armor, eventually a biotic shield too... that would probably be a bit much for the mando especially since personal shielding was very uncommon in the clone wars era (unlike in KotoR and SWTOR)

I think the only effective answer ME has to energy weapons are biotic barriers *and biotics are pretty rare) since their shield technology was optimized for stopping slugthrowers

Mandalore is honestly the most epic thing in the games
I want to hear Djarin actually speak some Mando'a. Speaking the language is a big part of the Resol'nare. He sounds like an aruetiise.
It is now shown that he was raised by the watch and lied to. I don't know if he speaks it.
@@babecat2000 The Children Of The Watch seem to be far more entwined with the old ways of Mandalore, so I'd guess he learned it at some point. Maybe it's a M.G.S 3 situation, and we only hear basic because Din already knows Mando'a.
This would require the writers to do some kind of homework. They will probably never do it because they are incompetent.
@@totallynuts7595 they alluded to Jango Fett Open Seasons being canon again by making Jango a foundling who fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars. We haven’t heard any Mando’a yet but the code Boba showed was in fact Mando’a text which referenced Jaster Mereel. So yeah I think they’re doing their homework.

The core of what it means to be Mandalorian:
1- Wear the armor
2- Speak the language
3- Provide to your clan
4- Rally to the call of the Mandalore
5- Protect your children
6- Raise them Mandalorian
Edit: mom I'm famous

2- Speak the language
I adhere to the Resol'nare. The core of what it means to be Mandalorian. A sacred law giving us direction and purpose. We must educate our children as Mandalorians, obey the commands of Mandalore, speak Mando'a and defend our clans. AKAAVI SPAR

It wasn't until I tripped over Star Wars: Rebels a few weeks back that I realized that Star Wars didn't just have a named wiki page for every extra in the movies- they had several fully fleshed out cultures and a few languages. I really have no idea how I didn't see that coming but I am astonished and thrilled to bits.
Rebels is probably the only thing that's decent from Disney. Alot of the comics and books that have been put out over the years are truly fantastic. I recommend you take the time to read some.

You can hear how the mando’s are being to sing vode an louder and Lou der until they being the attack and a full out war beings between the two legions.
i really like this mandalorian music!
When you learn that to be a proper Mandalorian, each newcomers have to kill a fucking dragon alone in the jungle...
MANDALORIAN > klingon
@Bocaan The Humble Agreed on all counts. Now the Krogan on the other hand...
@@jareddrakencondor4187 I'd say in fairness, they should be compared at their peaks. The Mandalorians during their war with the Old Republic and the Krogan immediately following the Rachni wars, or perhaps during the Krogan rebellions.
@@jaffarebellion292 you make a good point though at that time the krogans would probably win due to sheer numbers that the mandalorians couldn't match if it came to an all out war... in a one on one fight i'd say the mandos win in 8/10 simply because energy based weapons are a commom thing in SW while they are not in ME.
I think the only effective answer ME has to energy weapons are biotic barriers *and biotics are pretty rare) since their shield technology was optimized for stopping slugthrowers

I like how republic commandos aren't Mandalorian at all, but at the same time, they are absolutely 100% Mandalorian.
A fun fact the reason why jango fett and boba Fett claimed and the rest of the clones are mandalorian is because Boca'tan was jealous of jango Fett taking over mandalor and became mandalor himself
Technically they are because they were trained by mandalorians and as we all know, it's a creed not a breed.
on the theme I like the detail that the version of Vode An we have (the one in republic commando) is slightly modified with verses like "Coruscanta a'den mhi" ("we, the wrath of Coruscant") where it was originally the wrath of Madalore, showing how the commandos are different yet the same, as you say
