@@erikdravn I would have too! It is, however a bit refreshing as another commenter noted to hear a guitar--like that --demonstrated 'clean'. Personally, that ever so slightly overdriven Freddy King tone on the bridge P90 is something I appreciate greatly.
@@telebob5983 Oh don't get me wrong, I loved hearing it cleanly. But I am a hard/classic rock guy. I LOVE the sound of a good blues/rock overdriven Les Paul. A longer video with both tones would have been preferred by me. But, it's all good.
@@erikdravn Yes, it IS all good! And it'll be better still when I get my Tele's pickup switch replaced--it's been out of my hands way too long. I can somewhat approximate the aforementioned Freddy King tone quite nicely. But it doesn't quite come up to that creamy yet piercing sound that cuts through in a way no Gibson humbucker can quite muster.
George proves the adage that it's in the fingers, his sound was real good, almost sounded like Tony Joe White, nice to have a regular guitar strangler.
Norm you did it again today lol 😂 thanks again for your help today lol 😂 keep the show on forever Norm there is nothing nothing better than sitting around playing on the guitar and your show is the show for many people!
Had one of these just like this one. Fret spacing was way off so guitar was impossible to tune. Got rid of it and had gibson help me build one that would tune by using a 59 nos epiphone fretboard. Tunes perfect!
On the early 1968 goldtop reissues Gibson put an additional strap button on the back of the guitar below the neck heel on some of the guitars. No known reason why they did this. But the SGs have the strap button in place there so maybe was a mfg spec that was continued into use on the newer Les Pauls. Or when the upper bout strap button was placed further away from the neck which some were caught and doweled filled in before they left the factory.
Hey if you’re interested in the goldtop let me know I can work it out with Norm...it’s my guitar and I do have a 68 Les Paul Custom that’s available too!

Endless sustain on that bridge pickup.
BRUTAL ! My God !
Another terrific picker with a unique style. The sustain on that beautiful goldtop was amazing. Love Norm’s sense of humor and humility.
Never a dull moment at Normans Rare Guitars. Thanks.
That's a special one right there! P90s back at last!
Would have loved to hear those puppies with a little overdrive.

I just sold mine.Ordered it in 1968 and kept it for 53 years. All good things come to an end .She went to a good home.
Beautiful playing and beautiful Guitar too. So cool
I hadn't heard of this artist before. I find I really like his playing. Norm, please invite George back!
I have seen this artist many times. That’s his guitar he is selling, and that’s why Norm invited him on.
I've watched a lot of GOTD and it's always great but I think this is actually my dream solid body guitar...fantastic!
Nice to hear a guitar demonstrated clean
George seems like a cool dude

Cool, I'm a '68 too
that sounds great. great session.
great great channel norm
This is probably one of my favourite videos on RUclips. "Hey how come you never play any of your own stuff". Lemmo "hold my beer"........
I would like to have that guitar...68!
Old Timers Disease slid in through the backdoor and knocked Norm on his assets. Nice sounding Tele too !!
I bet George either bought that or he's selling it on consignment. Lol Cool guy. I like when Norm gets silly.
How’d you guess!
This guitar has Hubert Sumlin(Howlin Wolf’s guitarist) vibes.
Hubert was also killer as a solo act
Hey can you get George to that thing Lemo played yesterday?
@@BeantownToBigD no kidding!

Norm's such a nice guy, he won't even charge you extra for the bonus strap-button hole.

Killer 🤯🤯🤯
Love your playing man. Nice!!!
Heehe - even Norm’s vibin’ too😄
The guitar continues to sustain to this day.
The way Norm said you can see all these "guitars" at Norman's rare "guitars" ..very poetic Norm
I had a 68 Gold Top once ..paid 600.00 for it at a pawn shop in 1985…kills me to see this
Sounds amazing, great playing!! 🤘🤘
Mike leaves for 1 day 🤪. Awesome Les Paul 🤩🤘❤
thats a cool guy n cool playing
Neat tone!!!
Whatever Norm has been consuming, I need some! Remember... sharing is caring.😁 I'm just teasing, you guys.

Nice.... playing AND the guitar.
I prefer this guy !
Nice !!
The Danny Kirwan axe for me.
Thought '68 but maybe not.
Yes Norm really got down on him, but , man, what a nice guitar and great playing by George!
What's your favorite guitar and amp
hes a nice man! you can tell with that smile of his! can I have it?
Great blues hmmmm goood
Thanks a bunch George, love hearing you play.
Is this the real Malibu George from saint pete fla. saint James band?!?! Funniest/goofiest video I've ever seen here so far. Keepum coming norm!
You guys been eating those high performance gummies and brownies again ?
🤣🤣😋👍🎯✌
👌
P90s indeed rule.
Lol Love it!
I had a 68 goldtop... it was a dog. weighed in at 12 pounds. I traded it for a Brazilian R9. I don't regret it. not even a little
Nice sounding Les Paul. Would have loved to hear it with a little overdrive though.
You guys are hitting the rum candy dish again aren’t ya!😂😂
For sale?? How much???
🙌🏽😂 NORM JUST PULLED A BALDWIN on poor George. Make sure he's NOT LOADED before kibitzing from the sideline. 😎🎸👍🏽🇺🇸
Paul McCartney is a great is guitar player! Would love to hear his recordings
The Grail.
I think he plays a Goldtop like the one he displayed. Is he selling his own guitar?
Yep!
Hey if you’re interested in the goldtop let me know I can work it out with Norm...it’s my guitar and I do have a 68 Les Paul Custom that’s available too!
how many knuckleheads does it take to make a guitar of the day??????great work.....you guys!!!!
How much is it worth?
From the thumbnail I was convinced that this guy was George Harrison's reincarnation.
Think Norm was toasted. George might have been the designated driver.
Totally enjoyed this upload! Thumbs up and a sub from me... Stay safe... Rico
Norm that’s good smoke lol
Smoke another one...........😁
wonder how much its going for
25k
So much better without it drowning in reverb.
Norman been smoking something haha
Geese Norm!! Even my balls hurt after your rant on this guy, cool guitar even though he played it in a G Tuning or ?
They may have gotten the guitar reissue wrong but it's still a great model! Love a classic gold top! However! Gotta do a Maton!
Sorry Norm nobody does it like Michael.
ok
I mean, the guy's got chops, don't get me wrong but c'mon. Who plays a '68 Goldie with P90's & doesn't dial in the dirt, seriously!
Norm wouldn’t let me...
@@ElreyJames ha ha. Figured there had to be some reason for it. P90's are just made for dirt. Dig your picking style though man.
He seems a lot more stoned than Lemmo.
You all are going to be in sad shape when I visit ... like a Monty Python skit .. with more music.
What’s with the weird smile after each bit he plays?
Very Kimbrough-y
WTH were you guys smoking today? Now I know where Norm gets his supply of …. Um … guitars from.
better hurry- THE COPS ARE ON THE WAY
