I love seeing people who really appreciate what they have. Not just "Here check out this cool thing that costs a fortune!" Watching Frank here is like watching Jay Leno talk about cars. He knows the history. Even the really obscure stuff. And knows it so well. A gift worthy of a true enthusiast.

It would be so great if Gibson stopped making so much junk and let Epiphone become a premium brand again with models like this in a US factory.

Gibson, good points, some of the pick ups, scale length and neck. Bad points break angles durrrp, lets make an instrument that wont stay in tune and will break its own headstock off at the drop of a hat, but probably their worst fault, is that its made by Gibson in the USA so the workmanship is dire.
some if not most Epiphones are better than gibsons already
I own a few Gibsons and several Epis. The latter win. They came absolutely flawless and look and sound great. Gibsons all came with some flaws (paint, or inaccurate assembly of knobs, jack, etc) showing bad workmanship and poor quality screening before shipment to shop.
The original Epiphones were the real deal. I've had the chance to play a 40's Emperor...absolutely amazing in all aspects. It would be great to see them as a premium brand again. Problem is the cost would prohibit most players from buying one. :-/
I own a few Gibs and Epis - love my Joe Pass ... epis are not that bad... it is too bad that Epi seems to be the chevy of Gibson but wouldn't make much sense having competing brands under one roof? How many people would buy a $4000 Epiphone vs $4000 Gibson?

I think when your family member is a household name, no matter how good you are at what you do unless you go anonymous you'll just get "Oh he's only famous cause he's got x as a relative" or "I wonder what strings x pulled for this" following you around. Not saying any of that's true I know nothing of the man but this video, just saying that's how the average person thinks.
