@Rudeboy Jackson, shit this made me choke on my beer, mate I laughed hard, that’s exactly what I was thinking while I watched it... mate as long as we are having fun. The greatest joy of my life has been being able to play music with all 4 of my kids, and they are a shit ton better than me, and I love every single minute of it... cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
Laurence Juber blew me away. I've never seen anyone play guitar like that. It was like he was playing it with his mind. It wasn't about the technique - the technique served the music. Nice tune.
The dude that turned the classical guitar to a snare drum takes the fucking whole cake. That is years of practice and mastery playing. How he effortlessly slide around in that guitar is just one of those moments in life that you would wish that you would've done that since a kid. And I'm only 18
That's a concentrated mix of talents there in just 15 min... lives being devoted to the music, and each of them with a different approach, beautiful and inspiring.
My word the young guy playing blues , if he wasn't meant to be sitting in a smoke filled club with a bottle of Jack next to him and a single low powered spot picking him up , then theres something wrong .What a raw untapped voice to go with the emotion
My wife and I have literally binged watched Norms streams because of all of the amazing musicians who frequent his store. Lemmo is outstanding. The dude is next level.
Lol. I've been checking them out Two days ago, I bought a Martin GPC PA4. What a great full-bodied sound and action. I'm still pinching myself or dreaming.
I stumbled across this video today, and I want to say thank you for uploading it. my Dad was a musician. he passed away in 2012. now he is rocking in peace. I didn't learn to play, and I miss the sound of live instruments. this brought up good memories. gotta love the power of music... thanks again!
David weekday ...sorry you lost your dad brother...mines been gone since '74...I'm 52 and I still miss what could of been...I wish you peace in your life...ďà wòöķįęè
Awecome, all around. I don't know what's more spectacular, this line up of incredible players, or that seemingly infinite array of fastastic instruments all around them. Wow!
I am going to laugh forever after your reply cozmickid ( still cracking up ). I feel the same way you do...but still going for it..Xlnt comments and Great VIDEO of talent..Hats off to all here...
I wanted to let you all know how much I love all the video's you post. I watch every week. What makes them and your store appeal to me as well is that your all such great people. Keep the video's coming.
It's a very cool place to take a walk through the authentic essence of the guitar business , where not only the money is the main . Nice and professional Job Mr. Norman. The music community should be absolutely proud about your feeling of pure love for the spirit of the old times. You keep this feeling from the sweet past in this strange present time. Thank you from another corner of the world. J.L. Barcelona / Spain.
Laurence Juber, by far was the most amazing. That whole song was phenomenal, and that strange bend he was doing baffled me to say the least. AND. Not even looking at the guitar! Holy crap!=]
John Smith Hahahah that reminds me of a sh guitar shop I used to go to, where there was a sign saying you get 20 lashes for Stairway, 30 for Smoke on the Water etc.
Neal Bangor Starting from where things normally are, you take the low E, pull it away from the fretboard and down towards the D string so that it goes above the A string. Press it back on the fretboard so that the E and A strings stay twisted. Basically, when he's doing this, at the point where he's using he's left index finger, the E string is closer to the D string than the A string is. Hope it helps (not sure I'm giving a clear description of it...). Cheers
+Neal Bangor You basically place the Low E on virtually on top of the A string, so they're touching/overlapping and fret them together but on the actually fret wire. Also, If you do this with the B and G string, placing the B string on top of the G but fret around them 6th fret normally, not on the wire, you can get it to sound like a bell/church bell, especially with reverb. To get this right you need to get the B string actually precisely on top of the G.
You know what, Charles? I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. I actually agree with you. However, done right, and no phony side stories like 'Pawn Stars', it actually may be worth a watch.
If done right, it would be a great intro to the instrument and wonderful talent. It worked well for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (regardless of what you think of the host, it opened the doors to some good places to eat).
I love this video, it's excellent. Thank you for uploading all these fantastic videos. This is my only way to enjoy your legendary place. Merry Christmas Norman!
Superb playing especially the gentleman playing classical. He made that guitar dance and sing like no tomorrow. The whole video sucks you into an awesome trance.
Laurence Juber is one of the pioneers of the acoustic fingerstyle guitar style. It’s crazy that you might think he’s just the guitarist from the group wings 😉!
Pince Buster I have no idea I'm just talking shit ive been to similar places. I'm sure this place is great but most places tell you if you aint buying kick rocks. I collect amps excuse me if I'm taking my time before I spend a few grand.
+Pince Buster It's a nice place, very laid back. I hit it about 3 times a year. Norm has nice stuff; nobody wants tirekickers jacking off on good old stuff - go to G.C. and do that. Still, I've had ZERO negativity there in my years. You never know who will run into there either..
Believe it or not, the dude throwing down banjo riffs on the old tele is John 5, guitarist for Rob Zombie. I think hes one of the most underrated and versatie guitar players.
Probably the most raw fucking blues jam I've ever heard. I have three favorite new guitar players from that clip alone, even if Tyler Bryant is a Jack White clone, he's still a better guitar player. Nichols effortlessly mimicing a slide. Jesus.
I've been playing guitar for ten years. After watching this video, I really want to learn how to play guitar.
Dude I know exactly how you feel lol
This is the perfect comment to explain how I feel right now lmao
25 years of playing guitar here but still felt I need a lot to learn more...
Hahahaha u made my day
That kid is amazing in the beginning, true talent there.
Hahahaha what the hell are you doing here? I am sub, love your shit
Chyeah!
RCK EMY he plays guitar!!!
+RCK EMY Same
what song is that kid playing at the beginning? anyone know?
13:24
My jaw literally dropped when he immitated the snare drum, that's the sickest technique I've ever fucking seen!!!
the same thing, Brother. Dude is Amazing.
+John Doe my guitar teacher taught me that 13 years ago :')
+John Doe First time I see something like that, and I've seen a lot of weird techniques.
Gran Jota, Tarrega.
Did you notice the muscles in his hand? The guy has such strong fingers his hand looks like it's got a cramp.
Any time I see an older guy pick up an acoustic guitar in the stores I know I'm in for a treat
Well then, in case you ever see me pick one up, I apologize in advance for being such a disappointment!
Matthew5to8 That's Denny Laine! Underrated and great with Macca!
Hugues Quintard it's not Denny Laine, its Laurence Juber.... Both in Maccas band
My god, Gareth!!! You're right!! Thank you for the correction and the piece of info!
Hugues Quintard No worries mate, he is a cracking player 👍🏻
Laurence Juber blew me away. I've never seen anyone play guitar like that. It was like he was playing it with his mind. It wasn't about the technique - the technique served the music. Nice tune.
Bikewithlove
look up his Plays The Beatles album...great stuff
Ain't he, though? Remarkable, original, and fun to watch.
I looked him up after i finished playing diablo and was pleasantly suprised that was involved in making some of the collector editors soundtrack
Ooo yes, his master.
The dude that turned the classical guitar to a snare drum takes the fucking whole cake. That is years of practice and mastery playing. How he effortlessly slide around in that guitar is just one of those moments in life that you would wish that you would've done that since a kid. And I'm only 18
I have watched this 4 times already !! the amount of talent is quite intimidating , but , just can't get enough of this !!!!
“Bass is like eyebrows you don’t realise when it’s there but when there gone it’s a disaster”
3:30 is fantastic -- dude has a beautiful voice and can play. Soulful 👌
Matt Brigidi check out the Marcus king band
Ugly as hell tho e
dead boba ok
Marcus King is Awesome!!!
@@Seth-bp3og idk what you mean, he looks like the nicest guy on the planet. With playing that soulful he might as well be.
Thanks Norman for sharing and preserving such joyous moments. I enjoyed all of it.
Lots of great players/artists there, but that classical player blew me away.
It's a great and rare thing that your shop inspires people to feel so comfortable playing.
Beautiful guitars... great players & artist... nice music and talents...the world is full of good things to enjoy.🎼🎸🎹🎻🎺🎷🥁
That's a concentrated mix of talents there in just 15 min... lives being devoted to the music, and each of them with a different approach, beautiful and inspiring.
This is one on the best videos I've ever seen on RUclips. So many awesome players.
My word the young guy playing blues , if he wasn't meant to be sitting in a smoke filled club with a bottle of Jack next to him and a single low powered spot picking him up , then theres something wrong .What a raw untapped voice to go with the emotion
Look up Marcus King Band. He's amazing
He’s become fairly big now - Marcus King is amazing!!!
The guy on the Spanish guitar with the drumbeat golpe technique... brilliant!
My wife and I have literally binged watched Norms streams because of all of the amazing musicians who frequent his store. Lemmo is outstanding. The dude is next level.
13:23 whoaaa what kind of sorcery is this??
Adrian Mahendra Wooord! This guy turned the guitar into a drum.
I liked his playing the best.
lmao
twisted the strings over each other.
Fantastic.
i wonder if they sell acoustic guitars
Pawan Ram no I actually don’t think they do
Lol
Hahaha xD
Not sure man, couldn't see any there
Lol. I've been checking them out Two days ago, I bought a Martin GPC PA4. What a great full-bodied sound and action. I'm still pinching myself or dreaming.

Some very amazing guitar playing no doubt about it. I've been playing 20 plus year's these young kids blow me away great playing guy's...
the guy at 3:30 gave me chills! His playing style is so smooth and soothing to the ear! Good job man!
Awecome, all around. I don't know what's more spectacular, this line up of incredible players, or that seemingly infinite array of fastastic instruments all around them. Wow!
The 2 classical players absolutely killed it. That snare sound that Hamed was playing, damn that was cool.
Lemmo ?? I don't know if I'd personally describe him as 'classic' but yeah! He's damn good 👍
These best of Norms videos are simply the greatest guitar videos ever made 🤙🏻
Holy craps. Some of those guys are downright brilliant guitar players.
I'll never have the money to buy the guitars I see in this channel, but I love watching and hearing the demos like this.
Awesome. These players inspire me and make me want to never pick up a guitar again out of sheer respect.
I am going to laugh forever after your reply cozmickid ( still cracking up ). I feel the same way you do...but still going for it..Xlnt comments and Great VIDEO of talent..Hats off to all here...
Oh, I'm still going to keep at it. It's an addiction with me, but I have a long way to go. Cheers!
Me too addicted Cheers back at you my man, Rock em hard hard my bruttha..cozmickid
then maybe you arent a guitar player
Great video. Always a joy to experience real talent. Music is for everyone. Everyone loves something special.
Good God, the guy at 5:00 ... does he practice by opening pickle jars with his pinkie and ring finger? The strength!
who cares
Dude Laurence Juber has played the guitar alongside with Paul McCartney also plays the Tristram Theme of Diablo 3. Lol
Dane Logan, hundreds if thousands of people care, you're just ignorant to who that person is.
I wanted to let you all know how much I love all the video's you post. I watch every week. What makes them and your store appeal to me as well is that your all such great people. Keep the video's coming.

J.L. Barcelona / Spain.
It's a beautiful thing to witness, when some nobody off the street walks into a guitar shop & blows everyone away.....
This is a really inspiring video. Love all the styles, and I just never tire of people's creativity.
I liked the way the youngest person played the best. Awesome talent. You don't have to play fast to be great.
Beautiful music for my broken soul. Really lifted me. Thank you for sharing. Love rules
Laurence Juber, by far was the most amazing. That whole song was phenomenal, and that strange bend he was doing baffled me to say the least. AND. Not even looking at the guitar! Holy crap!=]
Talented musicians, wonderful music, beautiful guitars! Great way to start the day! Thanks for sharing!
I only hope to be half as good as all of these amazing players.
Melissa Orosco same
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we can do it! Best of luck for you.
practice
Practice, devotion, and perseverance makes your wish come true
I am better than these players because I dont show off all over the neck
One of the best compilations of what ppl will say r unknown musicians. But a true music lover will know most of these ppl
I hope there's a sign in there that says "no stairway"
John Smith Hahahah that reminds me of a sh guitar shop I used to go to, where there was a sign saying
you get 20 lashes for Stairway, 30 for Smoke on the Water etc.
I hope there's a sign that says "Live and let die" so people can stop complaining about what others play.
Ever seen Wayne's World?
Unless Jimmy Page is playing it.
is the solo okay?
Hamed Poursaee.... Just wow! Never heard guitar played like that before.
That first guy was awesome loved that tune
I need to come by Norm's soon ...before I move out of this state. I remember you guys over on the corner of Tampa and Sherman Way.
First guy was basically playing two guitars at once, what a cool song.
..he works for Norm now ...great player
Watching this Channel, Has given me proof that real music, played on real instruments, still exists and hasn't yet died, wich gives me some Hope
wow what was the song Marcus King was playing? wow
Driftin blues
Roman Raynaud thx!
@@romanraynaud5960 Driftin blue
Driftin blue, one of his own, check him and billy strings out...
"The sky is crying" was the tunes he was playing
There is so much talent out there. Incredible video.
the style of the very last guy was insane all were great but the last was my favorite
I love this video!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!
That first dude. Wow.....
Ik, I am trying to come up with an acoustic version of it. It's fairly tough lol
wich is the song?
Ian Puzinas what's the name of the first song ?
pretty sure its original by the guy
that’s michael lemmo!
So inspiring and inspiring!
How does he get the low strings to sound like a snare drum at 13:23 ? I've never seen anything like it. This whole video is great
Neal Bangor Starting from where things normally are, you take the low E, pull it away from the fretboard and down towards the D string so that it goes above the A string. Press it back on the fretboard so that the E and A strings stay twisted.
Basically, when he's doing this, at the point where he's using he's left index finger, the E string is closer to the D string than the A string is.
Hope it helps (not sure I'm giving a clear description of it...). Cheers
+Neal Bangor , It looks like he's pressing on the fret bar instead of in between them as it's normally played. I think.
Neal Bangor holds the string in the fret. I do that all the time making endless mistakes. His is of course on purpose
John Mayer has a similar technique. Pretty great players in this world.
Marcus Kings appearance in Breaking Bad as Todd has done wonders for his music career. Such a good actor too 👏 ❤️
hamed poursaee pure genius playing the drums on the classic guitar... thanks for putting this vid up...
I'm sure it's been said before, but Norm's needs a reality show.
NOBODY needs a reality show!
You know what, Charles? I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong. I actually agree with you. However, done right, and no phony side stories like 'Pawn Stars', it actually may be worth a watch.
Hell, man - just set up some cameras like C-Span and I'd be glued to the tube.
If done right, it would be a great intro to the instrument and wonderful talent. It worked well for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (regardless of what you think of the host, it opened the doors to some good places to eat).
ZenDriveSeven I agree
I could listen to this all day.....thank you for posting!
13:30, IMPRESSIVE how that guy made the guitar sound like it was playing a marching tune, I've never seen that technique before.
I love this video, it's excellent. Thank you for uploading all these fantastic videos. This is my only way to enjoy your legendary place. Merry Christmas Norman!
Hey, Marcus King is awesome!
such an awesome video, thank you so much.
Superb playing especially the gentleman playing classical. He made that guitar dance and sing like no tomorrow. The whole video sucks you into an awesome trance.
I don’t care if this was posted 5 years ago, the guy in the first clip at 0:54 is such an amazing part.

Wow Norman, so much fun! Thanks !!

No actually because I respect true talent, not just all the bells and whistles of the likes of Bonamasa
But yes, a lot of people are stupid, especially with music taste
that marcus king kidd is CRAZYYYY !! madd respect for that
Norman's seems like a really great place

Really enjoyed that...thank you.......amazing players and looks like an amazing shop....
what was the song the first guy, lemmo, was playing
As long as there are people like this in the world....I still have hope
Believe it or not, the dude throwing down banjo riffs on the old tele is John 5, guitarist for Rob Zombie. I think hes one of the most underrated and versatie guitar players.
Thanks for sharing. You guys really captured some great moments.
What's the piece played by Sergio Vallin at the end? Sounds great! Great video guys!
Laurence Juber from Wings. That guy...mind officially blown.
That's a rather amazing display of mega talents. Thanks for recording this.
