While the tutorials took a while to go through, I cannot think of one that was not necessary for understanding Azure AD Connect. (I did skip the one on PassThrough authentication since we decided on Password-Hash Sync.) Wonderful classes. Could you please upload the video related to the password protection of azure with the hybrid model? Because I am a little confused regarding the password lockout policy in on-premises & Azure password protection how it will work if we login into the client workstation even login through the Azure portal.
Wonderful, clear and concise video and explanation, thank you. However, I have attempted several times to sync a brand new user in AD to an existing user in O365 with the same matching attributes of displayname, UPN and primary SMTP but it will not match the user. It creates the 'secondary account" with the extension as you described. I am unable to figure out why user will not match? Any suggestions? I do not want to go the hard match route as I have 500+ users I will have to match up. Thank you in advance Dhanyavaad!!

Hi mate, thanks for the awesome video, i was stuck on Soft Match, but this demo helped me sort out the issue, i am just wondering what could be the possible reason of failed soft match, becuase it happened on newly created user on Azure AD but not for Old users.

Great Video. Thanks for sharing. I have a weird scenario where I have 2 users synced. UPN and Display Names match for OnPrem and AAD, but one Synced and one had a new user created in AAD. Neither has anything populated under Attribute Editor, for ProxyAddresses. Any ideas why it creates a new user?

Hi, to perform hard match you need to convert objectID to immutableID. cons-guid is just an attribute similar to objectID used to uniquely identify object by aad Connect.

How does soft/hard match work when you have Exchange Hybrid server in place (and the Exchange GUID that should be tagged on AD accounts synced to O365)?
Hi, on-premise mailbox exchange good is stamped when you migrate a mailbox to O365. Hard Match or Soft Match is a concept of matching 2 accounts (not mailboxes). I hope this answers your query. Please let me know if your query is different.

The ObjectGuid I get from AD itself is not the same format as the one from AzureAD, does this mean I will have to convert to the correct format?

There's a scenario for synced environment where one of the users is still showing in cloud instead of sync from onprem. Tried the hard match to stamp the object guid with the immutable ID. What next to do?
After hard match you need to initiate full sync from Azure AD Connect
Do cloud hosted user account and its counterpart (created later on) user account in AD need to have same password? What is the impact of soft and/or hard match on password at both end for the given user object? Thanks.

Is the a way to hard match multiple accounts at the same time? i.e 100 or more?
we can do this with the help of a CSV file, and a small script.
Instead of doing hard match can we change the display name for that user in on Prem.
If you do not want to do Hard Match, you can perform soft match.
If On-premise user and azure ad user is having different password for a user which will remain.
This process will not affect the passwords.
