One of the best voices I've heard in my 70+ years.
Amazing Poppea. Amanda Forsythe is definitely an outstanding singer and such a lovely actress as well! Congrats from Italy and thanks for sharing!

An absolutely stunning voice!!
This is lovely, and the make-up seems appropriate !
Un'Agrippina vanitosa e aggraziata nei movimenti, dalla bellissima voce.
Un'Poppea
Loved it!
Oh yeahh (✿◠‿◠) You are so beautiful Amanda (✿◠‿◠)
Parts of this aria bears a strong resemblance to Handel's "Va col canto lusingando" from Clori, Tirsi, e Fileno. He definitely recycled some material.
Handel did that a lot. To be fair, he had some deadlines to meet and was an extremely busy composer. Many Baroque composers were.
@@dion1949 Yes, Handel re-used much of his early Italian music when he was composing later operas and esp. his oratorios in England. There were obviously no recordings then, and the English public was completely unaware.
P.S.: The staging of this aria is also similar to "Myself I shall adore" from "Semele".
Bloody gorjus, nothing else to say,
