This looks like a fun party game. Simple games are sometimes scoffed at, but they're often what get people into gaming and what are the most fun in gatherings, especially if you don't know people very well. My mom & dad used to have big college gatherings at our house and I always loved the party games (that my mom mostly got the concepts for from library books, games with paper & pencil or acting, etc.). My favorite part is when somebody who's shy or who's not very well liked or just new says something or, in this case, writes something, and somebody else says, "Hey! That's my favorite...." or "I thought I was the only one who...." And sometimes people relax and feel better about themselves after these kind of games. My parents always worked hard to achieve that. My dad would've LOVED this game. He would've probably written down something really goofy at least once per game just to make everybody laugh! He was that way! Thanks, Rodney!
Rodney, I have a strange compliment for you. In my group, I always teach the table how to play, but I’m a horrible nail biter, so my fingertips are visibly mangled when I point to things. It’s embarrassing! Well, you’ve deeply inspired me to take better care of my hands, and I haven’t had a bite of nail in weeks. I am forever grateful.
You explained this game so well! I just bought this game to play with my family on Thanksgiving. I will have them watch this video before we play. Thank you!
I recommended somebody check out this game today because he was looking for easy party games. Thanks for the great channel! It makes it a lot easier to help others to find games that will fit their tastes, too.
I am new to the board gaming hobby and Rodney you have made learning games so enjoyable for me! Whenever I am learning to play a new game, I have the rulebook in front of me and one of your tutorial videos playing. Please keep up the awesome work! By the way, any chance you might do a tutorial on Merchants and Marauders? I have found other tutorials on it, but they seem to be very confusing. God bless brother!
Charlie, this is a very kind bit of feedback - so glad the videos have been helpful! As for Merchants and Marauders, thanks for the interest! I talk a bit about that here: ruclips.net/video/EdtDuvIUa6A/видео.html&t=342
Under 4 minutes (and seeing as the explanation doesn't start until 0:19, and ends at 3:12, it's actually less than three minutes)? This must be the shortest How to Play on the channel. Even Rock Paper Scissors took longer! Well, at least people don't have to slog through the long rulebook! /s EDIT: Thought I'd check. It's fifth. Kinda... At 3:50, there's 'The Gallerist - How To Play Solo', which is just an addendum about the solo mode. The main video is 34:51. At 3:25 is 'Onitama - How To Play', which is probably the real shortest How to Play. At 2:48 is 'Illusion - How To Play (Mostly)', which is an unusual live video which isn't as complete as a normal video. And finally at 1:32 is 'Monopoly - How To Play', which... well, don't want to spoil the surprise. For comparison, the longest How to Play (not counting 'Star Wars: Rebellion - How To Play (April Fools)') is 'First Martians - How To Play' at 50:45.
Two Rules: TAGGING: You may say another person‘s name in hopes of reminding that person of a shared connection or memory and thereby increase your chances of making a match. GENIUS BONUS: If everyone matches except one person, then that one odd person gets 3 points and all others score 0. (Inventor’s home rules).
i played this game last night for the first time. It was fun but I wanted to know something. If the beginning word was Gas----- and you had to fill the second half with -----oline. Would Gasoline be acceptable? If not, I really drawn blank on that card.
This must be the shortest video on your channel, since it's under 4 minutes. At least you did with a party-theme version of the old Match Game gameshows from the 80s, if you heard of that gameshow.
Oh my gosh, why is the box so big for some slates and a deck of cards? don't they know the struggle of the board game collector? I'm running out of space!!! :) Picking this one up. (hoping I have space), thanks Rodney!
It's always a challenge for companies, because of the box is too small, it can be more easily missed on a store shelf, and consumers also make assumptions about value. A tricky juggling act for publishers, to be sure.

I couldn't agree more with your second sentence! An important truth for us veteran gamers to remember.

I know how challenging that can be, so just know I'm very impressed with your discipline and accomplishment. Well done Thomas!

Have a great time playing together!

This is very nice feedback to hear - we certainly hope it can help in that way!
I think this is the shortest WiP video yet. Great job.
I think you might be right! :)
Nah, Onitama is the record holder,

This was super informative and well explained. Thanks so much for making it so easy to understand. I’m about to play now 😂
I hope you all have a great time playing!

It's one of the speedier ones, to be sure - and hopefully helps, not just to teach, but to show the kind of game it is :)

It can be fun coming up with house rules!
This is a great, simple-to-understand party game! :)
We might be Twitch streaming this later this month :)
@@WatchItPlayed Awesome!
This looks great!
Quick to get up and going - glad you enjoyed!
A good and helpful video, but I think this might be a record-setter for shortest video.
Great video!
Thanks Henri!

Yeah, I believe that would be fine. or Gastric. Or Gas Mask, Gas Line, Gas Stove, Gas Heater, Gas Pump, Gas Gauge, etc.
@@WatchItPlayed thank you. Most of the other players had gas line, gas pipe, and gas heater.
Super cool
Glad you enjoyed!
Thanks for teaching others how to play Blank Slate! 💙📝
It was my _____!
I have two games of yours on my wish list now thanks to Rodney!!!
@@WatchItPlayed Turtle! Did I get a point?
@@teejleague3838 We hope you can get them to the table soon. Thanks so much for playing! 💙

@@WatchItPlayed Ah, good point, I wasn't thinking of the marketing aspect. Shoot, that means i might need to buy another shelf then.....
Huzzah, all good this time!
Yep, fixed! I learned the difference between Draw & Discard :)
Do you learn how to play from the rulebook or other videos?
From the rule book and working directly with the publisher to ensure we have the rules correct.
Star Flower? Cmon, Chaz! 😏
You'd think word-play would be a strength of his... very disappointing!
Is this a re-upload?
It is! There was a scene where I said to draw from 1 end of the box (but I showed the other end), wanted to get that right. Sorry about any confusion!
Still wondering when we get a real-life reenactment trailer for "Voices In My Head."
Anyone else think star--fish?
